On this day in 2011 REM said: that’s it, no more, we are quitting, it’s the end of our banding. And they meant it! Almost always when a band says it is over, it is lying. They may not think they are lying, at the time. But, sure enough, a couple years later, or ten, or even forty years on, there they are, still going. So far, REM has not fallen into that groove.
