Households with more than a million (US) dollars in private wealth are projected to own 46 percent of global private wealth in 2019 according to a new report by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
This large percentage, however, only includes cash, savings, money market funds and listed securities held through managed investments—collectively known as “private wealth.” It leaves out businesses, residences and luxury goods, which comprise a substantial portion of the rich’s net worth.
At the end of 2014, millionaire households owned about 41 percent of global private wealth, according to BCG. This means that collectively these 17 million households owned roughly $67.24 trillion in liquid assets, or about $4 million per household.
In total, the world added $17.5 trillion of new private wealth between 2013 and 2014. The report notes that nearly three quarters of all these gains came from previously existing wealth. In other words, the vast majority of money gained has been due to pre-existing assets increasing in value—not the creation of new material things.

Wealth creation and asset stripping
The CEO of a large company I worked for in the 70s and 80s told me that the company's wealth was created by the people who design, make, market, sell, and service the company's products. In other words, workers are the wealth creators. This vast wealth then gets sucked up by greedy investors / share holders while the workers struggle to feed their hungry families. We need a system that distributes the wealth to those who deserve it more.

Another conversation I would like to have is why they lump 1 million with the Kochs, Soros, Trump billions.
Once upon a time, a second income in a couple of good jobs with a lot of good budgeting and restrained spending could result in the neighbor next door eventually accumulating net assets worth a million. This is no way equates to Trump Towers, multi-million dollar, staffed houses in multiple continents, private jets, fleets of private cars with drivers, crown jewels, etc. Yet, the data always places them both on the charts in the same place. I think it is deliberate obfuscation meant to divide and conquer.

the only "violence" I see is destruction of property. While that isn't the optimum what can these bastards expect? I imagine like most Americans when I first heard that concept there was a sort of knee jerk "well, property rights are earned," it took some thought for me to work that out of my head. But now I see that for what it is - one more privatization that TAKES from others all for itself. And while property destruction is not really a good thing, I'm getting to the point where I'm OK with "anarchists" or whatever they are smashing a few windows. IF that is what our plutocrats want, and they seem to want it as they'll do nothing to fix the underlying cause, then let them have it. What else are people with NO power supposed to do, just roll over and take it?

The one thing I have to disagree
with him on is those pitchforks won't get him or his - they have mercenaries to prevent just such an occurrence. The real risk, in my mind, is once again those who are in the middle, not rich enough to provide for their own security, but have just enough to warrant a pitchfork. The plutocracy has invested OUR money into Homeland Security in order to protect them from the torches and pitchforks. I doubt if they will listen to him.
But at least he was honest about how the majority of the 0.01% actually got their wealth. Even Bill Gates got a huge boost from the luck of his mother having connections with the CEO of IBM and a bunch of buddies that had more technical knowledge than he did.
