Sanchez lamented that some friends on Facebook were posting about Young "saying 'Finally Free.'
It's so sad that we feel death is freedom. It's sad to say it's becoming the norm and even harder as a transgender woman to wake up every day with fearing someone may ultimately feel they want to take our life.

Five other transgender women of color have been murdered in Philadelphia since 2010.
Another trans woman of color, Veronica Banks Cano, was found dead, fully clothed in a motel-room bathtub in San Antonio on February 19. There were no visible signs of trauma.
Cano, who was in her mid-30’s, was a native of Pleasanton, Texas. Joe Mendez, a friend from her past, told Out In SA that Cano was “loved and accepted by many in our small community.” He said Cano had pursued a career in nursing.
A Gofundme page has been started to help pay for funeral expenses for Veronica.
Police are investigating whether foul play was involved.
