It's a bloodbath...
And, it's getting uglier...Trump just moved ahead of Clinton in Pennsylvania.
My advice: Go over to Orange State and make a statement by rec'ing THIS POST. (Try not to get yourself banned in the process of doing same; if you haven't been banned there, already.)
A couple of comments from yours truly over "there," last night, and over the past hour...

24 hours ago, I really wasn't even thinking about Wisconsin. Now, potentially, Pennsylvania, as well?
bobswern TomP
Nov 08 · 11:58:09 PMThen, there’s New Hampshire…the entire set of national election results is an electoral bloodbath for the status quo of BOTH major parties...regardless of the outcome. Hillary's going to win the popular vote by about a point, give or take, based upon the way things stand at the moment; but it looks like it won’t be enough. Just look at the "fluid analytics" graphics over at the NY Times, right now. (I’ve been following them all year; they’re exceptional; I’m in the analytics business.)
(Look at the Virginia results. Tim Kaine’s home state. If anything, Gary Johnson helped Hillary there tonight, and in many other states.)
I’ve read (and heard) about a LOT of irregularities in many of the states where Trump is winning, tonight. And, it ain’t pretty. Certainly looks like the GOP put a sh*tload of money out on the street for the day. All their dirty tricks were on display. But, at the end of the proverbial day, all of the talk from Trump about a rigged election has bitten the Democrats in the ass in the most ironic way, tonight.
It’s a national travesty. But, the Democratic Party’s status quo is going to be doing a lot of soul-searching, for a long time, regardless of tonight’s outcome. Heads are gonna’ roll...again, regardless of the outcome.
At the end of the day, it was the Democratic Party's (and the MSM's) virtually complete capture by the status quo which did it in this year.
It really doesn't even matter, at this point in the evening, what happens. The writing's on the wall, in black and white. (And, I'm sure there'll be plenty of the same people that brought the Democratic Party to this point, who'll try to spin and contort that otherwise, just like so, so, so f*cking much of the bullshit we've witnessed in the past 18 months.)
People are fed up. And, all the cheerleading in the world can't belie those truths, when you're struggling to pay the rent and put food on the table...never mind paying for your health care...something's gotta' give. And, it gave way this evening.
That was the biggest inevitability meme of all that was ignored, up 'til this evening, anyway.
Comments
In case anyone's interested...
I live in New York, where my vote really didn't mean a damn thing. So, I voted accordingly...having made up my mind at the very last moment...for Jill Stein. Frankly, if I lived in a "battleground state," I'm pretty sure I would've felt guilty enough to vote for Hillary. But, that's all needless speculation, isn't it?

I voted for Jill in NM
... and Hillary won my state anyway. Hillbots pulling their Naderesque Stab in the Back lie can eat shit and die.

NYT analytics are awesome
Not that it helped them editorially.
Here's another analytics geek who voted for Jill in a state that went 20% for Clinton. You are not alone.

Throw some cold water of reason on the Hillbots over there and they start screeching that they're Mellltttiiinnngggg! Lots of fuck you's to that diarist (and they're starting in on a very mild-mannered diary by Canadian Wreck Smurfy.).
We told them so. Over and over again. In no uncertain terms. I laid it all out for them in January, but they wouldn't listen. And they're still not listening. They're huddled in their bunker, screaming and hurling abuse everywhere but where it belongs: on their own heads.
Clinton and her dead-ender followers have given us President Trump. Fuck them all in the eye. We had a chance for a real, positive change, and they killed it.

Everything about this comment cracked me up
Thank you for the laugh!

Sorry Bob, couldn't even make it past a few comments.
Those loathsome, Stepford party Loyalists are so willfully ignorant, or to be fair also very scorned now, that they actually are saying Trump would also have beaten Bernie.
They just can't get it around their fucking heads: Bernie would have crushed Trump, crushed him.
They own this whole thing. Daily Kos, the DNC, the Clinton cabal and all their henchmen and minions, in the media and inside the halls of DC.
They gave us Trump.

Every damn thing. From the start to the end. They danced around the bonfire their disgusting sellout site owner made of the place's tattered credibility, with their insufferable brand of arrogant hateful ignorance. And they're still doing it.
I hope they remain perfect exemplars of the Democratic Party. That institution is as dire a threat to this country as the Republican Party. It needs to die already so we can build its replacement. And following their lead, die it will.

And they still refuse to face facts
I was just there myself and the Bernie bashing is turned up to 11. Bernie campaigned for Hillary and yet it's still somehow his fault that she lost.
It's everybody's fault but Hers
And theirs, of course. Certainly not theirs.
I wonder how long it will take for them to realize they're totally discredited, and everyone wants them to just shut up and go away? Just like the Clintons.

I can't even come up with a pithy comment because reading it floored me.
Fuck Kos and the DNC

As i just told hubby, Debbie Wasserman Schultz is probably out of a job.
This shit is bananas.
Yah, who leads the democrats now? Bernie new Nader?
Great suggestion. But really, will it happen. Bernie was boo'ed congressional House members ever after he endorsed Clinton. Pelosi is an establishment power had to assuage rich donors by saying the Warren does not speak for Democrats. Mr Wall Street Schumer gonna go for it?
However, if the democrats want to remake themselves in the image of the New Deal, they will have to flush Clinton and her sycophants from the party and appoint Sanders. The democratic party leadership tried to be republicans and they got their asses kicked--have the powers that be in the party learned their lesson?

Yet, Hillary herself says she is not liberal.
She has spoken of her conservative roots. She was proud to wear the moderate liberal. However, she had a mini-fit when Chris Matthews referred to her as a liberal on MSNBC.
Her defeat had less than nothing to do with her non-existent liberalism. Let no one, Third Wayer or Republican say that she was defeated because she was liberal when the reality is just the opposite.
Read that one and responded to it.
Way to blame the victim, eh? So very liberal.
I do not doubt that sexism and race played a role in the voting - as it has from the start of the primaries, on both sides. But it was economic issues that tipped it.
An isolated, nepotist Establishment brought this about. What happened here was a democratic uprising against that Establishment. That's a victory for democracy, and we should be happy about that. But the victory is tainted by the fact that the candidate who won is a vile and ignorant narcissist. But that too was the gift of the establishment, which did everything in its power to crush the democratic uprising in its infancy. Since the Establishment reactionaries succeeded in crushing the Dem insurgency, namely Sanders, but allowed the Republican one to stand, then they bear the blame for this.
i mean, christ. look at that quote i just lifted.

But, that's--more often than not--a copout. The DNC, and the entire party's leadership, which is, roughly, about 95% of all the elected Democrats in D.C., along with a smattering of Silicon Valley and Wall Street billionaires, and neoliberal media on- and offline, are the ones to blame.

Support for Trump was quiet...
Because amazingly the press simultaneously made it cool, AND socially unacceptable.
Like Smokers. Smokers don't smoke in bars or restaurants any more. They have to apologetically ask before smoking around ANYBODY... but when they are around other smokers, they can let themselves go and speak up without fears of people screaming names at them that they have to refute or apologize for.
Same thing with Trump Supporters. They kept fairly quiet for the most part, but get around somebody NOT actively hostile to Trump and they'd talk your ear off. Usually complaining about how the PC police were keeping them from saying anything about Trump, because they ALWAYS got accused of stuff they didn't believe.
There were a LOT more of them than neoliberals believed, because like the Downstairs people, they didn't discuss it with the Upstairs people.
I do not pretend I know what I do not know.

Yes, we had a choice and it wasn't you we chose for a reason.
I'm Uh ... Still on Timeout Over There.
I recently, today, went over to trash talk, to be honest, hey, I've never said I'm a good person or someone to look up to, and found out I couldn't. Over six months seems a little long for a timeout, although I did offer an opinion in several diaries, but you'd think with a 30K UID I'd get some slack for at least no meaningful reason. I'm pretty sure I only called HRC a corporate whore once whereas Biden ...
The relevant question this point would probably be can we bridge the hurt, come together, and improve the human condition. I think it may be a matter of stealing some rather than converting. I'm not sure we've fully digested what recently happened.

People laughed off #Brexit as the domain of racists too.
Nope. They missed the very real undercurrent driving it.
People the world over, but especially here where they largely originate, are sick to death of what the global financial elites have done to their lives. To think that such a fucking imbecile clown could win the presidency had to mean people were so fed up and desperate to respond to such snakeoil populism. That's desperation.
Like #Brexit did for the UK, we've just experienced a massive tidal wave of insurrection against the establishment. We got a racist, misogynist WWF bozo who is a classic Neoliberal business cheat, while the UK has a vegan, anti-war, humanitarian Socialist Jeremy Corbyn. How does that feel?

From what others who visited are saying, Orange State is a gravely wounded beast tonight. Prevented by instinct or fear from accepting any healing ministrations or calm, rational thought. In such instances it's often better just to let the beast lie, to find its next avatar through a quiet demise alone or in the self-examination and change that comes to a few through some internal strength. Trump nears 270-vote mark with wins in key battlegrounds; Clinton camp waits
DEVELOPING ...
Donald Trump was nearing the critical 270 electoral-vote mark early Wednesday after notching a string of projected battleground victories in Wisconsin, Iowa, Florida, North Carolina and Ohio -- though Hillary Clinton's campaign showed no signs of giving up the fight.
Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta tried to keep spirits up as he addressed supporters early Wednesday morning in New York City – declaring several states were “too close to call” and they would wait for votes to be counted.
“We can wait a little longer, can’t we?” he said. “They’re still counting votes, and every vote should count.”
Clinton herself did not appear at the rally. Podesta urged supporters to “head home” and said they would not have “anything more to say tonight.”

A question...
So do you think it's safe yet to go over there and bitterly criticize Hillary Clinton without getting banned?
Has that asshole Moulitsas suggested that he will continue to censor critics of his choice for President even though it cannot have any effect on the outcome?
James Kroeger
there are exactly two good things that can be
thought to have come from this result, should the denouement prove out.
The first, of course, is that the Clintons will now be shuffled off into the shadow world of the uncelebrated influence-peddlers. Sure, they'll still have their money and their sycophants, but mostly the rest of us will have the luxury of not thinking about them, even as we labor each of us to provide our share of the annual vig on their mal-gotten wealth. Though, of course, there will be Chelsea, in 8 years or in 12.
The second is that the rancid maggotry of the Democratic Party elite, having failed so very boldly, are in this moment more vulnerable than they've been since November 2004 (or perhaps 2000 [edited, originally typed "2008", but meant "2000"]).
If we can somehow figure out how to wrest from them either their control of the party, or their control by default of 43% of the nation's votes, we might begin, in 2 years, to forge a future for this flailing Republic cum Empire.

Hillary, however, made a wise and perfectly defensible decision tonight not to accept the results. Can you spell msm establishment shills? I have to give it to Matthews, for once, though. He said no one wanted to vote to endorse the status quo. Watch how many will NOT say that later today.
While I stroll down Recent Memory Lane, remember when the Republican Party was dead (yet again)? Over, DOA, done, toes up, rigor mortis, toast, toe tagged, archives? Thanks, DLC/DNC and President Wasted Opportunity.
Yes I'm sure that Trump's blather --
was far more important as a terminus of the democratic experiment than election fraud in 20+ states in this year's Democratic Party primaries. Uh-huh.
The ruling classes need an extra party to make the rest of us feel as if we participate in democracy. That's what the Democrats are for. They make the US more durable than the Soviet Union was.
I'm confused. It was said OF Trump by Democrats and
othr shills that his saying he might not accept the election results undermined democracy as we've known it since 1789. He did not say it. And now, it's being said how defensible and reasonable Hillary is being by not accepting the results. (Not yet, anyway.)
I apologize for the wording of my prior post.
