DK further reveals their values
I check in at DK from time to time.
It is of course just a DNC site now.
Today it was even worse.
On the rec list is a diary of Michelle Obama giving George W Bush a warm embrace. Of course there was gushing for Michelle and her gorgeous dress. But very alarmingly there was praise for GW. And total seeming amnesia for what his administrations did to this country via 9/11, the wars, then the economy. http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/9/24/1573953/-Our-First-Lady-Michel...
Once again their only focal point in their world view is.... wait for it.... Donald Trump.
BMScott zenbassoon Sep 24 · 07:31:54 PM
And he's a model of humanity and decency compared with the likes of Trump and Cruz. He was a horrible president, but there are far worse human beings.
Trump is a hot mess but to date he has not been responsible for the loss of life of millions nor presided over the largest economic crash since the depression.
GWBush is apparently forgiven by DK denizens (and Michelle?) because he held back in trashing Obama. Bush should be licking Obama's boots for not pursuing prosecution against his and Cheney many crimes. The 1% protecting the 1%. That's what stirs the passions of DK now.

The stain, the stain. Sucking up to W Bush is beyond neoliberal

Conformity is demanded at DK.
If the CIA wanted to create a propaganda site, they would use DK as their model.

Ain't no "if" about it. I've been saying for years--whether Kos is or isn't "CIA"--that the site is an experimentation in "groupthink"...
I should have made it clearer that was snark.
I believe the majority of new users are paid shills.
The old timers that remain there seem hypnotized.

My research suggests that the funding
…actually began in late 2006.
It was a slow transformation in the way that wine ferments. It starts out slowly and continues that way for a long time, and then, bam!, it's a complete colony collapse. (Of the yeasties, that is.)
2004 Is When I Showed Up There.
There were several purges over the years. 2006 wasn't particularly nasty as far as losing talent went -- it was hard and ugly, I took a break, but I think it was 2008-9 when they really went hard after the Leftists onsite, IIRC.
I lost contact with a lot of great writers at that time.
It was really ugly, and was a line in the sand by the corporate center. A bunch of us hung out and argued hard for a couple years, then 2012 it totally started to unravel.
So if you were post 2012, you don't have the same experience with the site as us low UID peeps.

I'm getting pretty sick of the Michelle worship as well.
She planted a garden, made kids responsible for their weight issues, and did little to nothing to go after big ag for the garbage they feed us.
I am turning off/deleting/blocking and otherwise dumping Bill Maher, TYT, Malloy/Hartmann, and without saying, msm TV and radio. I will not be nagged and Naderized over the candidate or my vote. They are entitled to their opinions, but I am sick of the 24/7 demonization of Trump and/or bitching at others to vote for Hillary or "your vote will destroy the world". The arrogance of their entitlement and certainty pisses me off. Maher actually said that at least Gingrich, Pence, and Bush were legitimate, mainstream leaders, while Trump was the life sucking monster from Alien. I am not listening to this bull shit from now until November.

English Translation: Re-enabled, yet again, the bitter bullying and harassment of kids who have no athletic talent, as her kids do. Children in modern Amerikkka already have enough problems with the public non-education, teach-to-the-test system; and now, when these kids really don't need yet another burden added to them, here comes the President's wife adding yet another one. As you correctly point out:
So all she ever did for those kids was to increase their burdens while offering them little or nothing in the way of help to carry those burdens. "Physical education" is still nothing else but a means of embarrassment and shame for most of the kids forced to go through it, while some of our best and brightest kids will never be able to use those brains as they should be able to because P.E. is R.I.P. for their G.P.A. Did Madame Obama mount a nationwide campaign for school courses in healthy recreations to replace the competitive sport training that benefits so few at the expense of all the rest of us? She did not.
Like it or not, competitive sport is all about what you are born with, innate talent. Yes, an athlete must then work his/her ass off to develop that talent; but the fact forever remains that the talent itself must be there to develop -- and for most of us, it isn't. Anyone with a real goal of getting a handle on the obesity issue would insist that the vast majority of resources we sink into that be devoted to programs beneficial to the majority of us. And "gym" isn't, never has been, and never will be. American-style P.E. is nothing else than war preparation. Get the kiddies accustomed to useless suffering and humiliation now, so they'll be easier to convert to unresisting cannon fodder later.
And that's before we even get to the garbage that Big Ag insists on feeding those same kids -- an essay in and of its own right.
Grrrr. You got me started.

So agree.
I don't have tv, so I frequent twitter pages to see what's going on and I've found there are very few people who I'll visit anymore. Very discouraging for me.
As far as Maher, he is a strange duck. He thinks he's such a rebel, but really he is very establishment. He is pro war, at least against ISIS, he is pro-drones, and pro the prez having assassination authority. He seems to believe what he reads in mainstream press, and also what the president says.
I do still listen to the audio of his show on podcast. I can't help it. His irreverence does crack me up, and I enjoy some of his guests.
On the latest show he said he loved Autumn. He loved watching Hillary's poll numbers gently falling to the ground. The cops in Charlotte have added pumpkin spice to their tear gas. The governor called out the national guard and extra police to make sure in all the chaos that people are using the correct restrooms. Roughly quoted from memory, but when he said it, it was funny.
So, I listen, even though there is much I don't approve of.
BTW, I love your twitter page, and look at it often.

At least people are clearly and obviously outing themselves, so we know who to avoid... Maher is funny, though.

The idea that people's bodies were "occupied" by these alien beings who were the epitome of barren sociopathy. Then, they spread it to family and friends....
The thing that is so disturbing to me, as I see it happening in real world in the Neolib-funded Think Tank lab in the Daily Kos incubator, is the profound personality deconstruction on display, as these people contort themselves into the stated opposite of the character and universal morality they once had. It makes my skin crawl.
It's creepy, but also sad. I feel like Godzilla stomped on our
village and tore it apart, with some residents scattering, some staying but cowering in fear, and yes, some taken over by the pod people. While a few still try to walk that fine line of acceptance while hugging their pets.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers
I mentioned that exact movie, way back when I first came here about DK. It's so much like that too. The pointing and shrill, high-pitched alarm they'd sound in the movie is what I thought of when the possessed, for lack of a better word, or the shills would pile on someone there.
It's also like the Borg with the expectation for Bernie supporters to be assimilated.
Creepy, indeed!
Of course, if Shills drops like a wet bag of cement, I foresee A Weekend at Bernie's.

Wilding -> Wild
I wanted to see what they had said, if anything, about the Wilding v. DNC motion to dismiss. So I searched for "wilding" and a funny thing happened. It returned a voluminous amount of pages that contain the word "wild." Just a glitch? A coding error? Or was it a software subterfuge?
“He may not have gotten the words out but the thoughts were great.”
Are you kidding me?
There can be only two explanations that I can think of. Either they're trolls, purposely spreading propaganda for the Dem.party, or they're supremely ignorant people totally conditioned by the government/educational/media propaganda system.
Seriously, anyone that has anything to say about Bush other than he should be behind bars because he's a cold blooded murderer, is off in the head.
Dem party propaganda
We're talking about Daily Kos.
Democratic party propagandists aren't considered trolls there; the proprietor, Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, is cultivating that crop there.
Once upon a time, there was still some hope that the Democratic Party would act as advertised, and be an advocate for the American working class and the 99%. That hope died on Daily Kos once and for all on the 15th of March of this year, when the proprietor demanded that all further attempts to reform the Party via that website cease, and all its resources devoted to the Coronation of Her Heinous Majesty.

I have enjoyed reading the comments
and how they are rationalizing that Bush wasn't all that bad because they are comparing him to Trump. Trump didn't slaughter hundreds of thousands or more people on false pretenses , so there's no way to compare the two men.
Or that he is basically a good man, it was just his policies that stunk or that it was Cheney's, Rove's and other people's faults that made him make those decisions.
Look at how they rationalize Hillary's, Kerry's and Biden's vote for the Iraq war!
Bush wasn't interested in the truth, but these 3 were? He didn't present 'selective information', he lied and most of us knew it, but this person is saying that Bush somehow fooled or tricked them into voting for it? And this person believes that these 3 only voted for the war because they didn't know all of the facts? Hell, Hillary repeated his lies about WMDs, his meeting with Al Quada, but according to the commenter her vote was for a different reason than Bush' was?
Now that is exceptional pretzlelized rational thinking.
One person is trying to push back, but is still giving Hillary a pass on her vote.
Just the fact that they refuse to see that Hillary isn't a warmonger is one thing, but to read all these people defending Bush shows that the people in this diary have lost all sense of credibility.
Unfuckingbelievable!
Was Humpty Dumpty pushed?

They dare not step outside
the parameters of discussion that have been set by Markos. And these parameters define politics strictly as a contest between the two major US Parties. Any other interpretation of, or way of looking at our national and global situation is either discouraged or forbidden.
This results in a generalized pattern of binary thinking to which all community members must subscribe, under penalty of group censure and/or expulsion. According to Kos there is a Team Blue and a Team Red, and never the twain shall meet, since the nature of game is seen to be solely concerned with which Side of the contest will gain the upper hand. There can be no objective analysis or discussion allowed, about the nature and validity of the game itself, as this might tend to weaken the case for Team Blue.

I am still wondering about all the hate toward Sander supporters
Did paid and unpaid Hillary shills somehow get directed to dailykos as a key site to overwhelm and infest? If so, they certainly seemed to have the tact approval of management. Later, the front pagers, who I assumed are paid a regular salary got involved with distortions and McCarthyism attacks that defied any standard of intellectual and moral honesty--seemed like fairly coordinated attacks. Even after Hillary usurped the nomination, dailykos posters continued to attack Sander supporters. I figured it was an effort to marginalize Sanders as a leader of any anti-Hillary coalition after the election.
Is it not a surprise that dailykos would embrace Bush if it made Obama, Michelle, Hillary look good in anyway. Nope. All it requires is a diary or two to re-invent anybody, as in the re-invention of Hillary and Kaine into progressives. Now Bush, the friendly dufus.

Typically, having just been (again) unsubscribed from Hillary Clinton emails and having everything sent by her removed from my inbox, today I had something new in there from Hillary Clinton (Wisconsin), promptly unsubscribed from that and from something from Nancy Pelosi - and found some clickbait from DK as well, I suspected in order to bring in, ban and clean out those interested in actual truth and democracy in America still remaining from their rosters and ability to comment.
As could be expected, the promoted-at-top of the DK diary list 'Hillary Flawed' consisted of the announcement that we were all flawed, without mentioning the fact that we all haven't ripped off, mangled the lives of countless people or killed them, while pushing starvation wages, environmental destruction and a global hostile corporate takeover all over the freaking world for our own personal profit and power, en route to installing ourselves, via cheating a propagandizing, as corporate management as a(n ironically) Democratic President.
