This isn't quite the level of a Bernie Sanders speech (with real policy details), but Trump hits on many populist economic themes here.

Exactly how Trump intends to fix these problems isn't clear (outside of canceling corrupt Trade Agreements), but one encouraging sign is Trump's public repudiation and rejection of the concept of "Globalism" ideology --- that has dominated American Policy for the last 36 years (ever since the Reagan era) and destroyed the middle-class and hollowed-out our (once impressive) Industrial Base.
That's a message that needs to be heard and acted upon. Virtually everything that we can purchase today is manufactured (either in part, or in total) overseas somewhere, and not in America.

There are many lines here that fit a 'progressive' theme, and economic principles that would benefit the middle-class, and thumb the nose at the Globalist International Bankster Oligarch class (that took over this Country over a century ago).
I don't know the extent to which he uses a speechwriter. Most of his speeches have a lot of improvisation to them, so I think he largely "wings it" around some basic cliff notes and planned topics.

Trump has been saying the same things for years,
and so while I am sure he has a speech writer to organize and fine tune each of his speeches, those are his thoughts from the heart. I know the Hillary propaganda machine has been promoting the meme that Trump's is speaking detestable gibberish, but I've watched over a dozen of his speeches now, including his RNC Acceptance speech, and I have to tell you, he is speaking anything but detestable gibberish, in fact, he is the first politician I have heard who has no problem speaking the truth, the entire truth, from the heart, and that includes Bernie. Case in point, Trump is the only one who had the balls to call out the Clinton Foundation corruption for what it is, and that this is the "intent" and "motive" behind Hillary setting up her private email server. Bernie did not have the courage or honor to call Hillary out for that. Quite the opposite, what Bernie said was his infamous "Enough with the emails already!" Personally, I think Bernie's lack of courage to call out Hillary for her treason, for her racketeering crimes, and for her/DNC's election fraud and voter suppression crimes, is what cost him the election.

Dems are in big trouble. He's very good on the stump and the crowds at his rallies (part WWF part revival meeting) are all very enthusiastic.
He's positioning himself as the change guy in a change year. Ronnie Reagan meets Huey Long.
He's selling America First to the people who want to hear it. Promising jobs, law and order, and an end to free trade. It's an effective message. (What he delivers, of course, is another story.)
Most importantly, he looks like he's learning to stay on script, although you know he's perfectly capable of farting out a stinker at any moment, so as not to distract from all of Hillary's troubles.
Meanwhile the Democrats are literally on life support, promising nothing but elitism, corrupt status quo politics, and culture wars.
You heard it here first: this keeps up the final Electoral College map will look less like 2008 and more like 1984.
The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?

People need to understand the difference between Trump
rallies and Trump speeches. Rallies are to fire up the believers (kind of like the DNC convention...can't say an HRC rally becasue it is not happening there). His speeches, particularity of late have had quite a bit of substance. Yesterday, he announced that women should be given six weeks of paid maternity leave. It is not all one could hope for (family leave) but it is better than the non-paid leave which is now in place. His speech the other day to the National Guard emphasized putting people first as in supporting the troops, something which has been sadly neglected.
Do I believe half the stuff he says? Hell, no. But that is still a half more than I believe of anything HRC has to say. (However, I am inclined to believe the stuff that he talks about that was suggested or supported by his daughter--such as the maternity leave.)

Now, I would love to see Stein/Green Party win, but I do not believe she can win more than 70% of the liberal vote, but I would love to see that happen and for the corrupt-to-the-bone Democrat Party to die and be replaced by the Green Party in 2020 as the party for the liberal community. The Green Party is the key to our future, I believe, because if this Democrat Primary showed us anything, it is that the corruption within the Democrat Party is far to pervasive, so I really don't think we have any choice but to leave it behind forever and build an entirely new liberal coalition under the banner of the Green Party.

You are right that Stein will not win, but so what? Where is it written that we can vote only for the likely winner?
Given the electoral college, the only circumstance voting for Trump makes even a little sense for liberals is if polls in late October, early November, show your state as a very close race between Hillary and Trump.
Otherwise, all voting for Trump does is tell the world that you want the country to go right and that you are happy with the duopoly. Voting Stein tells the world that you want a party to the left of Hillary and the her fellow New Democrats. Voting Green will also have ramifications for Greens in 2020, with name recognition, media coverage, ballot access, fundraising, etc.

destroys Hillary, that is my #1 priority right now, and since Trump is exposing Hillary's corruption, I am honor bound to support and applaud him, since neither Bernie nor Stein is turning the spotlight onto that Hillary corruption which is destroying our nation. It is a matter of strategy and priority. If Trump does not destroy Hillary, Stein/Green Party will not have a chance. Further, I think most of the criticisms of Trump are Hillary propaganda bs and should be debunked so that Hillary doesn't have even a remote chance of winning, not without rigging the general election the way she rigged the primary election. And again, only Trump can expose and has the courage and power to stop Hillary from rigging the general election. Again, it's about strategy and priorities.

If you live in in a state like Alabama or Massachusetts, how you vote is not going to affect the electoral college, anyway, but it may well adversely affect ballot access for the Greens in 2020 and send the wrong message.

You can campaign for Trump and vote for Stein. Although, unless the electoral votes of your state are up for grabs, I'm not sure what campaigning for Trump in your state will do, either.
If your vote for Trump is likely to matter as far as the electoral votes of your state, then so will the votes of the people you may persuade to vote for Trump. If your vote for Trump is unlikely to affect the electoral votes of your state, then your campaigning for Trump is also unlikely to matter.
Actually, it's beyond even that. The other factor that determines if your vote and/or campaigning will matter is the electoral vote as a whole and how close each state is. If the polling at the end of October shows Hillary or Donald has over 270 locked in tight, then your vote and mine will not matter to Hillary or Donald.
There is, however, no scenario under which the popular vote will not be crucial to the Green Party.
I have never lived in a state in which my vote may have made a difference. I sometimes wish I did, but not this year. If my vote this time mattered to the outcome, I might vote for Trump because I do believe that Hillary is the greater evil. However, I am very happy this time that I get to vote without worrying about my vote affecting the outcome.

I've heard Trump give three different speeches now where he directly attacks Globalism.
Having foreign businesses by itself isn't the crime here. Globalism means supporting what Ross Perot once called the "giant sucking sound" policies that have been crafted to systematically deIndustrialized the United States, and have incentivized Corporations to move their jobs into low-wage Third-World countries (and China).
This also goes hand-in-hand with efforts to create "World Government" bodies that are unaccountable to anyone, like The World Bank, The World Trade Organization, The International Bank of Settlements, the Trilateral Commission, etc. -- which also want to bring us into the age of World Currency (replacing the dollar), and negate National Sovereignty altogether --- creating a modern day global feudalist society (economic slavery).

because Mom would not turn off CNN when I asked her to. Trump made a lot of points that I could have agreed with if I thought he really meant any of them. But IMHO he has mastered the art of faking sincerity, and is as big a fraud as anyone who has ever run for public office.
It also led to a heated argument with my Trumpophobic brother, who has totally bought into the Corporate Media BS about how there are "only two" real options to vote for, and a vote for anyone else is "wasted" - he got downright insulting about "spoiled crybabies sitting in the mud and waving their rattles", which shows just how thoroughly the Corporate Media have rotted his brain.
