Stein--Two More States! Polling! and Arrest Warrant!
Today's update on Jill Stein and the Green Party is chock full of goodness and badness!
Wyoming and North Dakota have both accepted Jill Stein on the ballot, bringing the total number of states where she is on the ballot to 43 plus Washington D.C. We are now awaiting word only from the state of Rhode Island. She now has direct access to 476 electoral college votes. Rhode Island has an additional 4 votes.
Stein also has write-in access for the states of Georgia, North Carolina, and Indiana. These three states have a combined total of 42 electoral college votes. Adding these in, you will be able to vote for Jill Stein in at least 46 states plus DC.
Nobody will be able to vote for Stein in Nevada, Oklahoma, or South Dakota. These combine for 16 electoral college votes that she will not have any access to.
Not too bad on the ballot front!
New polling today from The Economist/YouGov shows nationwide Latino support for Stein is at 15%--an all-time high.
Finally, misdemeanor criminal trespass and criminal mischief counts were made against both Stein and her VP candidate Ajamu Baraka today because on Labor Day they stood with the Standing Rock Sioux tribe against construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline in North Dakota. The Sioux tribe says that the pipeline is a threat to their water supplies and sacred sites. Stein and Baraka spray painted a bulldozer that was being used to construct the pipeline:

"The Dakota Access Pipeline is vandalism on steroids" Jill says.
I have a ton of respect for the both of them! And the Standing Rock Sioux tribe!

A strong case for an 80% threshold
Jill is now on the ballot in 80% of the "states" and will have access to 90% of the electoral college. She has raised significant individual contributions in every state except South Dakota. This is clearly a viable national candidacy.
The next runner up is the Constitution Party's Darryll Castle, who is only on 21 state ballots and has access to less than 50% of the electoral college. This is a huge gap and marks him as a regional candidate. (He's also barking mad, but that is beside the point...)
Now maybe we can start focussing resources on media coverage and engagement. It really sucks that it takes so much time and energy to get on the national stage. Once again, Bernie was pretty shrewd.
We can’t save the world by playing by the rules, because the rules have to be changed.

Now that's the kind of criminal...
I could vote for, for president!

I'm not at all sure that vandalism is a serious enough crime to
qualify someone for the Oval Office anymore. War crimes, serial killing, mass fraud, sure. Vandalism? Meh.

There are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don't know we don't know.
Now get at least 5% of the total vote
Then, the stage is set for 2018 to make some gains in the lower offices.

These are Class B misdemeanors in ND, with penalties of (up to) 30 days in county jail plus an (up to) $1000 fine.
I hope they do surrender to an appropriate Magistrate. I'm sure if they do, not much will happen ($100 fine each, max?).

Couldn't they just avoid North Dakota until after the election?
And (with appropriate apologies to men who might be offended), can we change the state name to North Dickota?

Would "any reasonable prosecutor" prosecute?
Interesting.
Hillary Clinton kills hundreds of thousands of civilians in the Middle East and gets rewarded with millions of dollars in speech fees and the Presidency of the United States. Jill Stein spray paints on a bulldozer's blade (so it won't cause any damage to the dozer's paint or windows) and an arrest warrant is immediately issued.
Must be nice to be a Clinton.
Everyone knows vandalism is a more serious crime,
I mean, we're talking damage to tangible corporate property versus contributing to the deaths of many mostly poor brown and beige people. In this era of more population than the planet seems able to tolerate comfortably and sustain, Hillary's neocon ways are practically a service to the environment. We need to show more appreciation. For starters, how about a Nobel Peace Prize, like Obama's?
Edit: reply to edg, not the OP
It is just nauseating to read all the concern trolls over Stein painting because That's Vandalism, and That's Very, Very Bad, so Don't Stoop To Their Level.
Like "their level" of protest is somehow so very dangerous. Like nobody can grok the part where "painting" is "non-violent resistance", depending on what you're painting.
Like PAINTING is equivalent to TREATY BUSTING, ATTACKING WOMEN AND CHILDREN WITH VICIOUS DOGS and POLLUTING DRINKING WATER FOR MILLIONS OF AMERICANS.
Fuck thee people that caused this shit and fuck the idiot fucking ignorant tools that prop them up. I am so sick of this shit.
I think using the dogs was a MAJOR mistake for the oil company.
The pic of the dog w/ blood on his mouth and in his nose has gone viral.
Democracy Now talked w/ a dog trainer of 25 years and, besides decrying the private company 'trainers,' she said she had filed a complaint w/ the state of Ohio (where the dogs came from), because the Bob Frost company who owns the dogs doesn't seem to be licensed w/ the state. If some young and hungry attorney picks up on this and follows it thru, this could be a civil rights case that could further drain the oil company of its' capital.

I wish it was just one blog
Facebook and Twitter were crawling with these goons. They all had the same spiel, it was probably coordinated. Stupid. Just stupid.
Fortunately, it was so stupid, they really weren't getting a lot of traction. They got jeered a lot. FWIW, I also agree with hellinahandcart upthread, that pipeline subcontractor screwed up royally when they set the dogs loose. That almost pissed people off more than the fact that they were sicced on peaceful people who were in no way being so violent. I saw a lot of sympathy for the dogs, too (ie. "don't blame them, they're taught by thugs", etc.).
Almost, but not quite. I've never seen left and right come together so quickly over something. I saw comments from across the spectrum denouncing it.
I didn't go near that hideous orange cesspool. I'm done. I took a look at some of it the other day while this place was down for maintenance. They got a whole five minutes of my time and I didn't even sign in. What a fucking mess it is over there--now that I've been away so long, it's completely unreadable to me.
IIRC, it was pictures of dogs on civil rights activists
that caused public opinion to pivot way back when. Well, that an some other stuff.

Sadly, that was before
dogs being used to threaten and attack unarmed civilians became normalized by repeated video exposure to the masses.

We cannot have a serious candidate
Spraying paint on a piece of equipment. Think what she might do when passing a tea cup to the President of Kazakhstan? She might spray him with milk or lemon.

We have the signatures. It has not been officially announced yet, but green is on the ballot here. Go Stein!!
... far as I am concerned
the arrest warrant ADDS to Jill's credibility and cachet --

When Demosthenes had finished speaking, the people said “Let us march”.
She has accomplished two very important things:
She brought more coverage to the Standing Rock Sioux protest, and she brought more coverage to the Green campaign. The MSM want to portray it as some lack of judgement on her part, when in reality, it's bringing more light to real issues.
I think after Election Day
the big story is going to be Jill Stein, coming out of nowhere, and getting a metric fuckton of votes. A companion story will turn out to be "Gary who?"
I'd like to be right about that. If they're all so worried about ensuring Hillary wins and all the vote counts add up, they might forget to cancel some of Stein's votes
Once saw a Chicago area black minister say he didn't trust Obama
...because he was never arrested. He said any blacks leader worth anything has an arrest record from protesting. Hell, even Jesse has been arrested. Good on you Jill Stein...
I think
she was already arrested in Philadelphia during the democratic convention. Not 100% sure about that.
Sorry, it was in Philadelphia in 2012 trying to enter one of the debates:

I suspect she sprayed away the name recognition problem.
