Stein--On Kentucky Ballot, Loses Nevada and Oklahoma, and Polls!

A lot going on today for Jill Stein and the Green Party ballot access.

Stein will now be on the ballot in Kentucky, bringing her up to 41 states plus Washington D.C. where she will appear on the ballot.

However, the Nevada and Oklahoma court cases were unsuccessful. Stein will NOT appear on the ballot, or be a write-in candidate in three states now: Nevada, Oklahoma, and South Dakota.

She will be a write-in candidate only in three states, and we are still waiting on three states to validate signatures to get her on the ballot.

The Washington Post came out with polls today in every state. I'm not 100% sure about the methodology used in these polls, but the numbers were interesting. The poll included registered voters only.

Stein garnered 10% in Vermont!

Stein is polling at 8% in Maine.

She is polling at 7% in the following states: Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Oklahoma (where nobody can vote for her), Oregon, Rhode Island, and Washington state.

She is polling at 6% in the following: Colorado, Maryland, New Hampshire, and Nevada (another state where nobody can vote for her).

There are many other states where she's polling at 5% or 4%, but the states listed above--where people can vote for her--are probably the ones where she's most likely to make headway. The lowest polling states for her are Mississippi, Alabama, and North Dakota.

We at least give her enough support to get her public funding.

Go figure. FBI Director Comey states it is a disgrace the The Guardian has a more accurate list of Americans who have been shot by cops. The Guardian also provides better coverage of American elections than our entire M$M. What happened to American Exceptionalism? Is there a single public agency that is not a failure? Is there a single economic sector that is not corrupt?

Trump is getting criticized for suggesting the election will be rigged. Of course it will be rigged! And everybody knows it will be rigged:

If there is anything positive to say about the 2016 elections, it's that they have finally forced an end to the official denial of computerized election rigging. In the past month, the fact that our voting technology is a hacker's paradise has been validated by no less than all the major TV news networks: NBC, ABC, CBS, Reuters, The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Atlantic, USA Today, The Hill, The Guardian, Mother Jones, Politico, and a dozen other outlets.

This comes as a big surprise?

"They'll say we're disturbing the peace, but there is no peace. What really bothers them is that we are disturbing the war." Howard Zinn

Had some guy on yesterday from homeland security. Election security came up. He was all it was great because there are so many different ways States & locals submit data, and it's not on the Internet. Mitchell demurred, saying aren't many returns submitted electronically. But he insisted that's not on the Internet. Yeah, I wasn't buying what he was selling.

When there is (like the Post Office and the Social Security Administration) they do their best to create laws that interfere with its workings, and/or cut funding till it can't work so well anymore (the SSA is a great example of how the latter works).

This isn't internal failure; it's a war.

I run an online store and ship all of my orders with USPS. Because they're cheaper and have better service and are more reliable than the private companies. So of course, Congress wants to cripple USPS and give all of their profitable routes to the private companies. Meanwhile, the Post Office is required by law to keep delivering to unprofitable routes so that Congress can keep complaining how expensive and inefficient they are.

I hate to rain on the parade, but Obama is using the idea that foreign actors are hacking our elections to put them under the control of the Department of Homeland Security.

albeit a bonus for them (to have an excuse for that). But there is no real way to justify American voting to be put under that. If the voting is that unsecure, putting it in control of an org that's already been a disaster in its' short existence isn't going to fly.

of poll-watchers for Trump. I may be wrong about the law, but my belief is that every candidate has a right to have a poll-watcher in every polling place. For a supposedly truthful and usually reliable news source such as Truth Out to condemn in advance a basic right of the Trump campaign is indefensible.

I was a poll-watcher for Bernie in my liberal region. I was so stupid that I didn't require that I be allowed to manually count the paper ballots and make sure that my count aligned with the machine's. (Bernie won the ward, but not by the expected margin.)

Further, many of the Ithaca College students whose registrations I helped to secure (and we examined them for errors or omissions) were told by the election official who had a state link on his laptop that they were not registered. This was just one small part of so much election fraud that was not added to that which was adequately documented.

If you tried that here, you'd probably get arrested. Really. Even "recounts" hand count only a select type of vote, nowhere close to all of them.

Something Stinks In Nevada
U.S. District Judge Jennifer Dorsey said in a ruling dated Thursday that the Green Party waited until less than two weeks before the deadline to start collecting signatures to qualify to place candidates on Nevada’s 2016 ballot. When the party’s June 3 petition came up 647 signatures short after the verification process was completed, the complaint was filed seeking to overturn a decision by Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske rejecting ballot access.

About Judge Jennifer Dorsey - an Obama nominated judge

As Dorsey was being vetted by Reid for the job in spring 2012, two senior partners at her Las Vegas law firm, Kemp, Jones & Coulthard, gave $150,000 to the Senate Majority PAC, a Reid-linked organization run by former advisers to elect Democrats to the U.S. Senate. Dorsey’s name was advanced to the White House a month later.

Kidding. I collected signatures in KY, but it wasn't enough, despite a very naggy sig collecting leader. She ended up paying people to finish up for her.

But I have to say, from where I sit, they seem very organized and persistent.

a "special place in hell" for people?

Well, if I believed in hell--in the traditional way--I'd say there'd be a special place in hell for those who deny ballot access. What possible argument can be made against it? Cost?

Polls are a business, which is to say it's bought and paid for bullshit with pre determined outcomes. The fact that our media and our debates rely on this crap is a major part of our problem. They think its okay to limit the narrative in public discourse because POLLS !

some of the student run papers are now printing my letters-to-the-editor, extolling the advantages of the Green Party.

I'm working on alumni associations now and am finding that about half of them allow me to do a "guest post." I want to cover the middle third of the country because so many colleges are planning homecomings around Oct 1. I'll try to cover that by Sept 15, but we'll see.
