Must See TV: Jill Stein .vs. Chuck Todd / NBC (MTP)

Jill Stein tries to inject some sense and sanity into a plainly biased set of questions from Chuck Scrod (NBC / MTP).

The battle lines could not be any more clearer between the public interest and what The Establishment is shoving down our throats.

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.

Are you saying they're the same? No, I'm saying that what Donald Trump says is not worse than what Hillary Clinton's done.

Brilliant!

I really loved hearing that too. So satisfying to hear someone break right past the Nazi Hitler mushroom cloud talking points they've been shrieking about on the other side.

She nailed what is s wrong with our choices for who we get to vote for.
And the league of women voters were correct. Our democracy was stolen from us when they were forced out of being in charge of the debates.
Was there an essay here about it recently?
Anyway, when the DNC and RNC took over that way when the rules were changed.
They set the agenda for which types of questions could be asked about and no deep questions or topics were allowed.
And then they set the limit on how long a candidate has to answer any question.
Dallasdoc's comment says it all.
Brilliant!

add "and no offense intended" when you do, in fact, intend to offend! It's great! Unfortunately, eventually this sort of thing runs its course, like the Southern "well, bless your heart" which means F-U. At some point people catch on so if we want to insult people in a snarky way with those two ("with all due respect and no offense intended") we better hurry!

...should be on the debate circuit. It is clear that Donald Trump is a dangerous voice and we need voices for sanity - as she says. So if Jill Stein and Gary Johnson can just get in a few debates... I believe that the threshold is 9% for her to be included.

We would do well to endorse Jill Stein! Thanks for that!

Bernie is a win-win.

It would not have the reach of a network debate, of course, but it would be better than nothing.

In any event, Chuck Todd did give Stein air time, so there's that. He also put Sanders on MTP very early on in the course of Sanders' run. I don't respect Todd for much, but I do respect him for those things.

She hit that one right outta the ballpark!

Loved watching Chuckie trip over his words at the end. What a tool.

Thanks for this. Will be sharing on my FB feed! --

I think Todd asked her maybe three inane questions. She grabbed each one like a pit bull and turned it into an entry point for one of her talking points - and didn't let go.

I've complained in the past about how she can't stop when she gets up a head of steam, but it works well in this venue. Todd doesn't feel comfortable interrupting an articulate older woman, and she keeps him from asking dumb, irrelevant questions. Well played, Jill.

Turning this into a venue for her benefit. Was really impressed how she pivoted his hackneyed questions into pristine flash points of what this election is all about outside the beltway.

They are given a script - it's not news, it's an act. Jill did well. UpChuck spewed his usual garbage.
