When I am in America on my annual visit to family and friends,

I am always confronted by many challenges that require more fortitude and understanding than when I am comfortably at home. That’s probably true for all of us, in some context or another. But I welcome the challenges as I’m sure you do too, because it’s the challenges that help us evolve. These challenging times - politically, socially, environmentally and independently are what make us humanely sublime.

Lots of love and good luck to everyone …

just recently, a warm fold in the continuum, and I thought to myself; "Janis is back stateside".

Lovely to see you again, my friend...

"a warm fold in the continuum" that circles the globe and breathes warmth and fresh air into open hearts.

Thank you.

if something was going on, since I haven't seen you around very much, lately. Glad you went missing for a 'good reason.'

Wink

Seriously, I hope you're having a lovely time visiting with Family and Friends. We're off and on in the Florida panhandle, and it's miserable hot (to this ol' gal).

Anyhoo, have fun, and have a safe trip home!

Everyone thinks they have the best dog, and none of them are wrong.

You always make me smile.

At least here in Southern Florida, there's been an almost constant breeze to soften the heat.

Stay cool ; )

"Going Home"

I love to speak with Leonard
He’s a sportsman and a shepherd
He’s a lazy bastard
Living in a suit

But he does say what I tell him
Even though it isn’t welcome
He just doesn't have the freedom
To refuse

He will speak these words of wisdom
Like a sage, a man of vision
Though he knows he’s really nothing
But the brief elaboration of a tube

Going home
Without my sorrow
Going home
Sometime tomorrow
Going home
To where it’s better
Than before

Going home
Without my burden
Going home
Behind the curtain
Going home
Without the costume
That I wore

He wants to write a love song
An anthem of forgiving
A manual for living with defeat

A cry above the suffering
A sacrifice recovering
But that isn’t what I need him
To complete

I want him to be certain
That he doesn’t have a burden
That he doesn’t need a vision
That he only has permission
To do my instant bidding
Which is to say what I have told him
To repeat

Going home
Without my sorrow
Going home
Sometime tomorrow
Going home
To where it’s better
Than before

Going home
Without my burden
Going home
Behind the curtain
Going home
Without this costume
That I wore

Going home
Without the sorrow
Going home
Sometime tomorrow
Going home
To where it’s better
Than before

Going home
Without the burden
Going home
Behind the curtain
Going home
Without this costume
That I wore

I love to speak with Leonard

Living in a suit

Going home kind of difficult if you have none, but that's another song...

Good luck to you back.

I'm still waiting for the day you and your son set up camp at my place.

Home is where the heart is, stimmt? Can be anywhere, temporarily or forever.

I think we both love Leonard.

I bought an album of his at a shop in Place Ville Marie in Montreal. Nice hearing from you, Janis!

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.

If you want to immerse yourself in Leonard Cohen, watch his 2008 London Live concert. You'll love him even more, if that's possible!

What hill is that? I hope to be going up to CT, but I doubt it will much cooler there.

I hope you're feeling strong and life is treating you gently.
