Jane Sanders Interview with Rolling Stone

I don't have much to say...it's worth reading, as usual. Jane has impressed the heck out of me this last year...especially over the Oak Flat deal (our little local hell that we had been fighting against with little success until she heard about it.) She gives a lot clearer picture in this interview than any of the speculation we have all been reading for the last couple months. They are not giving up the fight...even though they are not taking it the same direction most of us are. I can't argue with a two-pronged attack.

It isn't "If the Democratic Party starts backing away from the platform" - it's "When". I hope the Sanderses are prepared for that.

I love Jane Sanders and I plan to vote for Bernie if he is a write-in in Texas.
It makes even the thought of voting for HRC unthinkable.

Was when she spoke of the meetings they had with locals, no press. That's how it should be done.

Not Hillary's phoney listening tour with carefully vetted locals & questions & the press and the cameras shooting the ads.

The first is real; the 2nd is for show.

Not any more.

First, Bisbonian, thanks for this. The Rolling Stone piece is awesome.

To those who still feel abandoned by Bernie, read it. Or not, wallow in anger if that seems right. Your choice but this quote from the interview says it for me:

I'm curious what it's been like for you watching those supporters inside the arena this week.
I've had a lot of reactions to it. We met with the delegates the first day, and there were 2,000 people there, and it was really heart-wrenching. I couldn't not let tears come down. I tried not to, but all I could think was, We let them down.

How do you mean?
[Tearing up] We did everything we could, but we didn't win. And they were so sad about it. People have been making it sound like they're mad, and they should just get over it. No they shouldn't! They shouldn't just get over it! What do you expect? How do you turn on a dime? We understand that. We understand that we earned their support and their trust. Now Hillary Clinton has to earn their support and their trust. And we will hold [the Clinton campaign] accountable because we are endorsing her. We are that much more committed to making sure [she follows through on her promises], instead of saying, Oh, it's politics as usual, people change. We're not going to let that happen. Not without a big fight, if anything. If the Democratic Party starts backing away from the platform, ever, we will fight like crazy to support the work that all of these millions of people did.

How they will be able hold HRC responsible is a valid question. It's also one I wouldn't want to have Bernie demonstrate were I her. We'll see.

you here to set us straight and tell us what we think and feel.

If you want my attention, you'll have to be a lot less condescending and preachy. I am quite capable of managing my own emotions, and I don't need your grief counseling.

Millions of Americans screaming in the streets has quite an impact on re elections and midterms

First thing I would like to see is a match up of names of BIG DONORS to HRC appointments...

Basically, people including Jane and Bernie are implying that to beat Trump, we have to close our eyes to election fraud.

And if people who are supposed to be providing moral leadership are saying that we should close our eyes to election fraud in the primary, why wouldn’t the same apply to the general election in November?

So what these interpretations of Realpolitik boil down to is, forget about the process being rigged against Bernie — it’s our moral duty to pitch in and help rig the process against Trump now?

Although they don’t explicity say so, between the lines it’s our duty to do to Trump what DWS and the crooked media did to Bernie? (From the way their they’re running with “it’s the Russians” stuff, it’s pretty clear that the media are already on board.)

Do “everything” to stop Trump — the word choice is not “everything above board” but “everything” — that includes lie, cheat, and steal, right?

Hmmm.

that Sanders just "normalized" election fraud just as Obama normalized torture, wars of aggression, drone murders of brown people in faraway countries as well as in Dallas.

Reality is a far cry from the propaganda the US brainwashed its citizens with from childhood as well as most of the citizens in the the so-called developed countries of "the West."

Time to wake up, engage those critical thinking skills.

a major turning point. My theory...Hillary was promised the Presidency this year, back in 2008. She jumped on board for "unity" then, knowing it was a done deal. And Bernie almost fucked it up.

The establishment. The corporations. The 1%. The oligarchy.
It was her turn and they were going to see to it. The super delegates fell into line. Bernie definitely almost fucked it up. I honestly think he didn't realize how corrupt it truly is. He is a principled man. He will go about it a different way. Thank you, Jane.
