Welcome back to Video News! I still think Stephen Colbert has one of the funniest perspectives on the conventions. Of the clips I found at YouTube today - from the Late Show last night - I think this is the funniest. It also gives the most information about yesterday at the convention:

Ray's suggestion that we give up TV and so on: Much of the media, even the news, is designed to distract from any serious business at hand.

Here's the latest craze: Pokémon Go, launched earlier in July of this year. Wikipedia calls it "a free-to-play location-based augmented reality mobile game," meaning it uses GPS and so on to synch the characters on the screen of your mobile device with your real-life environment. I post this not to distract you, but as an illustration of how distracted we have become. This is one of our local news stations.

Thank you for those, Lookout! I think I like the TYT one best.

Democracy Now has the more serious analysis, I think. I watch them once in a while, but I don't think I've ever seen Amy Goodman smile.

I like #CenkinPhilly, the idea of putting Cenk up at the podium during the DNC for him to get the crowd chanting, "Loser! Loser!" about Trump. I think they are correct that the Repug crowd chanting about Hill, "Guilty! Lock her up!" makes people want to defend her. I actually agree that she's guilty (but not of Benghazi), but that needs to be determined by courts, not by mob rule. That crowd is too happy about being nasty.

I think Jimmy had the best line, which of course he should. He said both parties are at their best attacking the other party, "the only time they tell the truth is when they call each other liars". So true!
