Bernie Sanders: "Now we wait to hear from the Justice Department"
Bernie Sanders weighed in on the FBI's decision not to recommend charges against Clinton for sending classified information over her private servers as secretary of State:
"I think you’ve heard me say from Day One that there is a process in terms of the investigation regarding Secretary Clinton and the emails," Sanders said. "Yesterday was an important part of that process. Now we wait to hear from the Justice Department."
What can the Justice Department do? You can get a clue by looking at their mission statement below:
To enforce the law and defend the interests of the United States according to the law; to ensure public safety against threats foreign and domestic; to provide federal leadership in preventing and controlling crime; to seek just punishment for those guilty of unlawful behavior; and to ensure fair and impartial administration of justice for all Americans.
We know that Lynch has said that she will accept the recommendation of the FBI investigation. But she did not recluse herself from the case and indicated that she would review it. I don't see how she can overlook Comey's scathing statement regarding Clinton's being "extremely careless" in her handling of classified emails. How could a US President who is "extremely careless" in handling classified material ensure public safety against threats foreign and domestic?
I believe Lynch will have to respond to Comey's indicting statements of Hillary's reckless attitude toward US security. This is one hell of an election season.

Nobody has said anything about the Public Corruption of the
Clinton Foundation still under FBI investigation. After her lawyers wiped her "private" emails it probably isn't likely they'll catch her red-handed.
But it will be yet another damaging story yet to come.
Too bad it won't help Bernie.

Not so sure any of this won't help Bernie. Clinton has yet
to be nominated and a lot can happen in a few weeks to change the perception of her being inevitable.
My thoughts, exactly. eom

I hope being booed by Senate Dems today will put some
zip back into Sanders game, I seriously am. My fantasy is that he step up to the podium and just let loose, call out the Clinton creature for what she is, a thoroughly dishonest self-serving opportunist. And then really rip loose with how unfair it is she walks and Comey said that any lesser person would face punishment.
I wish!

Yes, Bernie will never be accepted among this crowd and he
should not want to be accepted by the assembled sellouts, corporatists, and quasi fascists.
I hope along with you that we'll gain new confidence and maybe spend more time with Cornell West and other like minded people.

he should set the Democratic Party ablaze and then....
...retire and walk away. he can use his free time to ramp up a new progressive movement or party.
No, he should stay in the senate
And put a hold on th TTP.
Our mission, should we accept it....
is to make our voices heard.
We will NOT support, or vote for Clintons. Never. No matter who the republicans nominate.
LOUD and CLEAR - in every way possible, we will NOT VOTE FOR CLINTON.
Exactly, Caerus!
We must accept this mission! We must be loud and clear! I signed the WH petition saying I would not vote hrc. We must stand up and be counted for the activists we are!!!

I will not vote for Clinton
under any circumstances. I did not participate in a Peace vigil for over four years to vote for the biggest war monger of them all. I have not been writing about neo-liberalism for the last couple of months to vote for one of the biggest neo-liberals out there. Simply put, there is nothing about Hillary Clinton that would make me vote for her.

The timing of this is amazing.
I keep thinking about all the possibilities, all the ways this could have gone down. If the investigation had concluded sooner, it would have had more effect on the primary. This is crazy.
This is probably one of the most politically radioactive things they have ever even looked into.
The Injustice Dept?
I'm proud of Bernie. He's still standing. I wonder if he's referring to the foundation case which no one is talking about. I think there's a second investigation going.
And indeed it's been a helluva election cycle.

For the next decade. If everyone did this we would have a clean government in perpetuity. The Billionaire class would go broke buying off every congressperson we send. End rant.

Gabbard and Merkley
are great progressives. None the less, if you asked each one which was more important, their re-election or complete turnover of Congress, IMHO, both would choose a humiliating defeat for TPTB.

I have no faith in the Justice Department doing the just thing.
I have more faith in right wing talk shows and polls that show how Hillary is doing against Trump.

Not going to happen.
At this point, if Clinton goes down Lynch and Obama go with her.
"I believe Lynch will have to respond"
I don't take ANYTHING for granted at this point.
What I DO know, is this: They were so sloppy about soooooo much, that the scrubbing they did (done by ACTUAL professionals, as opposed to that startup in a Colorado apartment -without any experience/certification for working with classified material- which was giving her cloud access or whatever) was not for nothing.
It still may be possible there's a smoking gun un-wiped.
Hard for me to believe that Assange has released all they have. Maybe I'm wrong.

Instead of debating how to make America a better place,
we're reduced to having to debate the choice between a right wing jerk and a centrist lackey. Trump would crash the economy, $Hillary would impose an oligarchy on us. Bernie was so, so very right; our whole system is rigged. From the economy to politics to income, to the media, the whole system is rigged with the right people in the right places doing the bidding of the 1%.
....and they don't give a f*ck about you. Never forget that.
The real SparkyGump has passed. It was an honor being your human.
Centrist?
What does "centrist" mean? It isn't a very accurate term since no one has ever been completely unbiased. Hillary is a right winger only separated from the Republicans by the thinnest of differences in sanity or humanity. The Democratic Party is the new Republican Party and the Republican Party is the new Fascist Party. There is no major party for leftists. I suggest we use "neoliberal" instead of "centrist." We also need a new term for "liberal" and "progressive" which are so shopworn and vague that they mean nothing. How about just plain "leftist?" I am rather tired of the spin our masters put on the English language to make it vague and meaningless.

I agree. Calling her centrist was charitable at best.
In other times, $Hillary would be just another moderate republican but that species has gone extinct.

I'm sure
that Poppy's other son Clinton made it quite clear to Sweet Loretta in their airplane chat exactly what the DoJ was going to do. Lynch was a Clinton appointee. Has the DoJ done one damn thing under Bush, Obama or Big Dog to prosecute any crimes committed by the powers that be? Holder was a Clintonite and works once again for Covington and Burling. Our AG's are consigliere's to the crime family that is currently in power.
yep. I never thought she

So what's next Bernie? A presser denouncing the decision and reaffirming your candidacy for the convention because the other candidate is untenable?
