Who just happens to pop onto the private plane that it hauling the AG that is investigating his spouse and just talks about golf, travel and grand kids?
Appoint a special prosecutor and delay the findings until after the election. By the time the special prosecutor finished their investigation, Hillary would be running for her second term. Any way you look at this, it just reeks of corruption.

Still, word of the meeting could fuel new calls from Sen. John Cornyn of Texas and other congressional Republicans for a special prosecutor outside the Justice Department chain of command to lead the email investigation.
The controversy has trailed Hillary Clinton for more than a year. She has said the use of a private server was a mistake. But her closest aides have been subjected to questioning from federal investigators and conservative watchdogs like Judicial Watch.
Just this week, Huma Abedin, Clinton's former deputy chief of staff and now a key campaign operative, told Judicial Watch lawyers she didn't recall talks with State Department officials about Clinton's server arrangement.
Abedin added in the deposition that "it wasn't a secret that [Clinton] was using this email address to be communicating with U.S. government officials, because they were receiving emails from her."

I don't think Loretta Lynch would ever be so stupid as to intentionally have one-on-one meeting with Bill Clinton in a private jet, during a hot campaign, when the investigation of his wife is a hot issue in the papers every single day. In fact, I think she'd avoid that kind of situation like the plague. She might have been avoiding his phone calls, etc. Unless Lynch is so thoroughly corrupt (and heck, any DoJ head has to be pretty schooled in working his/her way through the maze of corruption, I guess) that she just doesn't care how this looks either, she would not have agreed to this kind of meeting.

Hillary Clinton's possible indictment looms like a fog. Bill Clinton meets with Attorney General Loretta Lynch for a half hour on her Private Government Plane, but why? Did the FBI's James Comey's recommendation come up? Loretta Lynch is hard to read. President Clinton reportedly learned Lynch was arriving soon and waited to meet with her.
Clintons born without a shame gene. That's the only explanation. They have amassed, according to WashPost article more than $3,000,000,000.00 ( three billions dollars!) now we simply must listen to Bob Herbert, writing in the New York Times so long ago, and do what he says NOW: Cut Them Loose http://www.nytimes.com/2001/02/26/opinion/in-america-cut-him-loose.html
The news clip I saw reporting this says Billy ( more demeaning than "bill" cuz that's what one of his mistresses called him, she's written another book now too!) learned Lynch was arriving at the airport and he WAITED for her to arrive so he could meet her.
Honest question - not rhetorical, WHAT COULD THE CLINTONS DO WHICH WOULD SURPRISE YOU?

is added to the subject line so folks that are monitoring the comments from either a collapsed comment tree or a recent comments list like we do, know that they don't have to expand or click the comment because there is no text to see beyond the subject line.
Back in the old days (before DK5), when comments there had subject lines and were in collapsed mode, "n/t" was a signal that said "don't bother expanding this comment, because there's nothing in it" -- the subject line was the entire message.
It was a polite gesture to save people time by not having to open a comment that had nothing in it. (What drove me nuts was when people would put the "n/t" *in the text of the comment itself* rather than in the subject line -- completely missing the point! hahaha...
Here at C99%, where the comments are all expanded anyway, it's unnecessary ... but old habits die hard sometimes. Like using "diary" to refer to the posts/essays/blog articles. Personally I like "essay" and am making a conscious effort to not keep habits from the old place. If I wanted to keep a diary, I would do it the old fashioned way.
people see your subject line over on the left column. It might interest them so they click on it, and then there is no more. So still good to put n/t in subject if that is all there is.
kos puts nt in the text box. I don't think anyone wanted to tell him.

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
Bill would not in anyway threaten Lynch directly--he is too smooth for that. I can see some flunkie on his staff using indirection telling Lynch or staff that forget about a multi-million dollar gig in some Wall Street firm if Hillary is indicted. Or maybe even revelations under a Clinton administration about her shady behaviors, etc. Probably meeting was public as a message to any prominent person about going after the Clintons.
The Clintons have always gotten away with improprieties. They just keep steamrolling ahead and don't care about the consequences. They remind me of Bush & Cheney Co. No fall-out there except Jeb! didn't get the nomination this year. I don't think Jeb! really wanted it. What Nixon did is small potatoes in today's political atmosphere. Because the media is so complicit due to it's corporate structure, we no longer have a "free press." When Jimmy Carter tells Oprah that we no longer have a democracy, but an oligarchy, I listen.
Nixon formed a committee to go after political enemies. It started with a bumbled break-in at the rival Party's head-quarters and included a lot of use of government institutions to go after rivals. How is that different than what Billy did in MA? How is that different than what the DNC did in Vegas? How is Hillary's e-mail server not the same as Nixon's recordings? Right down to the deletion of 30,000 e-mails vs. 18 minutes?
And you are right about the press. It is nothing more than color-commentary of the political process. Lot's of egos and chest pumping and prognostication. No journalism. And the number of people I consider 'journalist' continues to shrink.

I'd been avoiding dk, but I was curious to see what they'd say about this. I'm sorry, I don't want to come here complaining about there. I should have known!
resisted the urge to actually go look. They are in some serious denial over there. I took a quick look over there a couple days ago to see if anyone had posted anything about the latest email stories. Not a word! There are going to be some people in a complete state of disbelief if indictments are handed down. There will be clutching of pearls, fainting couches and smelling salts everywhere.
I've been saving my banning for the last diary I will ever write there titled, "Would you like an order of indictments with your nothingburger?"

Democrats, we tried to warn you. How is that guilt and shame working out?
and after careful thought, I wondered if that's actually what Clinton offered--some nobody that they were willing to throw under a bus in exchange for letting Hillary skate.
When he boarded that plane, he did it to offer her something. That's the real issue here. They didn't even try to hide the impropriety, however, and that's a sign of desperation on some level, IMO. There's some *there* here, for sure. It occurred to me also how they might fly if they insist on a special prosecutor, which delays everything.
I don't know how this will play out, but there is no question there are plenty of valid reasons to indict. If the FBI recommends indictments and the Justice Department refuses to indict, I think we'll hear about that from leaks within the FBI. What I would really like to see is Comey come out with a press conference, publicly announce the findings of the investigation, and leave it in the lap of the Justice Department to decide whether to actually follow through. Either of those scenarios should be enough to end Hillary's run for the presidency. Based on all the recent news articles, my gut feeling is that we're going to hear something very soon.

Using a private email and hiding emails pertaining to bridgegate which was of course so very unethical of him, and they don't see the hypocrisy in that at all.
Bill did most of the talking! It went something like this:
Hi Loretta! Boy, they sure do have some purty golf courses here. You here for a couple rounds of golf? Nah, I didn’t really think so. You know Lora, you don’t mind if I call ya Lora do ya? It don’t matter. You know Lora, golf is very important to me. I work real hard to play the best I can. I’m playing great these days! Heh! I mean golf! Anyways, anytime my mind gets troubled my golf game suffers, so I try, best I can, to make sure my mind doesn’t get troubled by things that, you know, have a negative impact on my golf game. And that’s why I thought I’d drop by and say hi today! You know, just yesterday I was looking at some photos of your grandchildren and thought about how that might affect my golf game if somethin’ bad was to, you know, happen to ’em. I mean, that would be real bad and it would just weigh on my mind for possibly weeks and I’m afraid that might mess up my golf game for a couple weeks. Now Lora, you don’t mind if I call you Lora do you? Ah nevermind! The point is you wouldn’t want anything to have a negative affect on my golf game would ya? I didn’t think so! You all have a nice day!

Corruption in the Clinton hijacked, Democratic party. Corruption at all levels of our local and national government. Corruption everywhere in the media. The government is owned by the very rich and they are using it to rob us instead of serve us. No to Hillary. No to Trump. We must coalesce and stop the corruption, for our World.
The AG, like the emperor's wife, must appear to be above reproach.
Why would she do that? Especially if they just talked sports and grandchildren. The meeting was unethical. The decision to invite him onto her plane without getting something in return was stupid.
ETA:
Even if Bill offered her a Supreme Court position, it's not his to give away. And it's not Hillary's, either. The best they can do is to nominate her.
And if Hillary thinks the Senate will rubber stamp her nominations, she is stupid.
by talking with one of the targets of one of the most important investigations of this century, about grandchildren? She's actually being mean to her own grandchildren by using them as an excuse.
We have a rigged political and economic system. It's become so blatantly obvious, they're not even trying to hide it anymore. Why? Because they have zero fear of negative consequences. Bernie was much more correct than I ever imagined. SMH.

'cause back in the day on a newsreader there could have been a problem and the text may have been lost, so if it was just a quick headline comment you said n/t
it's habit as much as
anything for us geezers going back to the Compuserve days when one had to click on the headline to read the post. To save readers the trouble of clicking on the headline only to find a blank text field posters added n/t.

The N/t...
is added to the subject line so folks that are monitoring the comments from either a collapsed comment tree or a recent comments list like we do, know that they don't have to expand or click the comment because there is no text to see beyond the subject line.
Oh thanks JtC! Wish I'd seen this before I posted below
I hadn't even thought about people scanning the comments list here, so I totally take it back that it's not useful here. Sorry!!
I've done it for so long
that I do it out of habit--and yeah, it's definitely more used by just DK--I'm pretty sure it goes back to Usenet days (damn, I'm old....)
Back to the days of bang addresses at least
It was definitely possible to lose stuff in transmission; using the n/t was being considerate.

LOL. It's a holdover from "that other place"
If I wanted to keep a diary, I would do it the old fashioned way.
n/t is still good to use because
people see your subject line over on the left column. It might interest them so they click on it, and then there is no more. So still good to put n/t in subject if that is all there is.
kos puts nt in the text box. I don't think anyone wanted to tell him.
Well, I'm reading this thread from the bottom up, and as I went up I noticed JtC already said what I said above. Maybe I should read threads in order, hmmm?
I think n/t means 'new topic', but not sure.
"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." - JFK | "The more I see of the moneyed peoples, the more I understand the guillotine." - G. B. Shaw Bernie/Tulsi 2020
I have mostly seen it used to
I have mostly seen it used to indicate "no text" in cases where the subject line is the only message.
I wouldn't doubt that nothing specific was actually said.
He showed up to intimidate. He took time to go to the airport and get on her plane. Even if unstated, his message is clear. I will squash you like a bug if you dont rig shit for Hillary.
Welcome to Bubba politics madam AG.
She had plenty of authority as AG
and could have barricaded herself and spouse on the plane and called 911. Or the FBI.
Does she have SS protection? Could we have had a shootout on the tarmac?
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
Bingo!
I give my vote to Blueslide!
Good luck trying to keep Billy off your plane, when he AND his Secret Service are mounting the steps!
I think you have it surrounded
Bill would not in anyway threaten Lynch directly--he is too smooth for that. I can see some flunkie on his staff using indirection telling Lynch or staff that forget about a multi-million dollar gig in some Wall Street firm if Hillary is indicted. Or maybe even revelations under a Clinton administration about her shady behaviors, etc. Probably meeting was public as a message to any prominent person about going after the Clintons.
Nothing Surprises Me about the Clintons
The Clintons have always gotten away with improprieties. They just keep steamrolling ahead and don't care about the consequences. They remind me of Bush & Cheney Co. No fall-out there except Jeb! didn't get the nomination this year. I don't think Jeb! really wanted it. What Nixon did is small potatoes in today's political atmosphere. Because the media is so complicit due to it's corporate structure, we no longer have a "free press." When Jimmy Carter tells Oprah that we no longer have a democracy, but an oligarchy, I listen.
^^^ This ^^^
Nixon formed a committee to go after political enemies.
Democrats, we tried to warn you. How is that guilt and shame working out?
Nixon had it all, Except...
He didn't have "The Nixon Foundation" money laundry set up to rake in the profits from Foreign Arms Deals, IRS Problem Solving, Sweatshops & Luxury Hotels For Haiti's Earthquake Reconstruction, Helping Big Ag Expand Into The 3rd World, Toppling Governments For Oil...
The Clinton Administration is "Open For Business..."
Poised to take "Corruption" to levels never before seen in US Government...

Over on dk
They seem not to believe that hillary is under investigation at all. I was slammed by like 5 people for saying that she is, and someone actually flagged me for spreading right wing lies. I'd been avoiding dk, but I was curious to see what they'd say about this. I'm sorry, I don't want to come here complaining about there. I should have known!
I was curious myself about what they might be saying
resisted the urge to actually go look.
“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”
George W. Bush
Now that is a sweet title! :)
I am playing with a few for my, "I told you so..." diary (which I may just title it out of accuracy) when I finally decide to go back and flame out my account. Teeheehee!
It will contain tons and tons of quotes from people warning about that very thing no matter what that thing may be. (because we all did like crazy, particularly pre-decree)
The only reason they don't know the truth is because they don't want to.
I got zero respect for people that willfully ignore facts and data...

I'm really hoping they announce it...
as part of a late Friday afternoon news dump so I can post it very early on Saturday morning when the moderators aren't on duty. I suspect I'll be banned pretty quickly and suspect they will probably delete the diary as soon as they see it. Hopefully, if I can post it on the weekend, it will stay visible for at least a couple hours.
I plan on taking no prisoners with this one! I want to see if I can hear their heads exploding here in Malaysia!

Make sure to let me know so I can pop over and rec it.
I will lose my 60 day chip for that one.

I will look forward to reading it! n/t ;)
Thanks one you MUST link for us
I'd go back and Rec and comment on that one!
That is an excellent title, I love it
beats the hell out of mine, which is all built around that Guns-n-Roses classic, "Civil War".
Pretty good Rod Stieger.
Cool hand Luke good flick.
Neither Russia nor China is our enemy.
Neither Iran nor Venezuela are threatening America.
Cuba is a dead horse, stop beating it.
I don't think...
There are going to be indictments. If there is, it is going to be some low-level staffer over some bullshit 'obstructing justice' or 'violation of security agreement' crap. It ain't gunna be Hillary.
Democrats, we tried to warn you. How is that guilt and shame working out?
To this end
and after careful thought, I wondered if that's actually what Clinton offered--some nobody that they were willing to throw under a bus in exchange for letting Hillary skate.
This is bullshit that needs serious pushback...
Hiding imporpriety...
The Clinton's are arrogant. I don't think it shows desperation - it shows arrogance.
Democrats, we tried to warn you. How is that guilt and shame working out?
I still have a very tiny bit of trust for the FBI
I don't know how this will play out, but there is no question there are plenty of valid reasons to indict. If the FBI recommends indictments and the Justice Department refuses to indict, I think we'll hear about that from leaks within the FBI. What I would really like to see is Comey come out with a press conference, publicly announce the findings of the investigation, and leave it in the lap of the Justice Department to decide whether to actually follow through. Either of those scenarios should be enough to end Hillary's run for the presidency. Based on all the recent news articles, my gut feeling is that we're going to hear something very soon.

It's all good I don't mind...
It just reinforces my decision not to go back when I hear tale of what is still going on.
I think I am coming up on my 60 day chip. lol!

There was also a post yesterday about Chris Christie
Using a private email and hiding emails pertaining to bridgegate which was of course so very unethical of him, and they don't see the hypocrisy in that at all.
Man, delaying someone
Man, delaying someone escaping from their plane after a flight, that's just rude.
But it was only about golf
But it was only about golf and their grandchildren. SNARK.
No, really it's true I have the unofficial transcript!

This makes it clear that the main fight is about corruption
Corruption in the Clinton hijacked, Democratic party. Corruption at all levels of our local and national government. Corruption everywhere in the media. The government is owned by the very rich and they are using it to rob us instead of serve us. No to Hillary. No to Trump. We must coalesce and stop the corruption, for our World.
Beware the bullshit factories.
Bill had nothing to lose, but Loretta just sold her dignity.
Life is strong. I'm weak, but Life is strong.
Exactly. Why would Lynch risk her reputation
by talking with one of the targets of one of the most important investigations of this century, about grandchildren? She's actually being mean to her own grandchildren by using them as an excuse.
Beware the bullshit factories.
They're not even bothering to hide their collusion.
We have a rigged political and economic system. It's become so blatantly obvious, they're not even trying to hide it anymore. Why? Because they have zero fear of negative consequences. Bernie was much more correct than I ever imagined. SMH.
The real SparkyGump has passed. It was an honor being your human.
Could be that the best way to commit a crime is
to do it in broad daylight. No one suspects. Maybe that was Bill's thought:
"If I meet her right out in the open for all to see, no one would think we were discussing the investigation. That would be crazy! Why would I do that???"
People are supposed to think - It obviously must be cool, or they would have had a secret meeting. A way to hide in plain sight.
I did NOT have lunch
with that Secretary ~er Atty General, Loretta Lynn. So there.

You like what I did there?
That sonofabitch. He just made sure the "prosecution" of his crooked wife got delayed.
You can't even believe how fucking angry I am about this.
Fox Politico etc al are reporting
Justice Dept today asked judge for two year's delay in releasing H's emails. Google "clinton email delay" for details.
