H.A. Goodman just released an interesting video this morning on the Email scandal
Submitted by Alphalop on Wed, 06/29/2016 - 11:27am
Interesting that the one thing she did ask about, the blackberry, she was told not to use.
Not a ton of new information, but when laid out clearly there is an obvious attempt to evade having to comply with FOIA requests at the minimum.
The reality is probably even much more insidious.
I guess the rules don't matter if you are Clinton.
Comments
In her haste to hide her Clinton Foundation/SoS deals, she
ran afoul of the national security laws. Now the Russians et al have a bunch of highly classified information & the FBI is digging into everything she tried to hide.
I agree with Goodman, HRC is in deep shit and Comey is not going to let it go this time around.

It's not up to comey
Lynch/Obama are the ones who'll decide if she gets indicted.
Although someone posted a panel discussion from mar 16 with
Joe deGenova he mentioned that is lynch doesn't indict the Rs could impeach get.
And Bill just met Lynch on a plane in AZ??
Something is getting mighty smelly in Clinton-land. Well, smellier than usual.
Yeah, but someone said all they talked about was the
grand-kids. So it's all good. No influencing prosecutors here. Move along.
I wonder if Lynch will see a big bump in income this year. Hahaha. Just kiddin. Or am I? Bwaahahaha.

Agree, just wish other than Goodman
Wish it were someone other than Goodman doing the reporting.
Alas.
Can't remember who it was here, suggesting that instead of calling them "emails" - all should be referring to them as GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS - which, is, in fact, what they are.
Reminds me of the importance of language, again and again.
Do wish Comey would ACT. Must be crossing every t and dotting every i.
Think Bernie Sanders is VERY wise in how he's handling all this. Very wise.

Well that was indeed odd...
There was a link there but for some reason it was secure so maybe that had an impact? Either way I just grabbed yours and replaced it in the essay so thanks again!

He touched only briefly on what I think is one of the most
important aspects.
The FBI CAN'T set the precedent that politicians can get away with circumventing security for convenience and get away with it just because they are powerful.
It would permanently damage their reputation, and they are one of the few branches of Law Enforcement that still has somewhat of a positive reputation to protect.
I think if TPTB try to bury this there will be more leaks coming from their agents than the floor of my 75 Nova, lol!
Their bosses may be corruptible, but there are a LOT of agents in the Feebees that hold personal integrity as priceless.
Among the few that I have known it was practically like a religion.

You have a better opinion of the FBI than I do.
I think as long as Obama is flying cover for Clinton bupkiss happens.
I don't have a high opinion of their leadership, but the few
line officers that I have gotten to know over the years always struck me as being very upright, if also in one case fairly uptight as well, and generally "true believers" in what they do.
Granted that is a small pool and anecdotal, but I try to look for the good in most cases and would usually rather err on the side of thinking someone that was indecent decent rather than unfairly lump a decent person in with the slime...
I may be a bit foolish, but I still would rather live a life where I tend to think people are good until they prove otherwise.
The other option just seems too bleak and soul crushing...

From what I have read
I believe Comey has the reputation of being straight shooter. What may happen is that the FBI recommends indictments and the DOJ refuses to do so. This could lead to some very ugly public off the record data releases. IMHO, if Obama prevents the DOJ from indicting after the FBI recommends them doing so, he will have severley tarnished his record more so than before. It seems as though Obama has been trying to rehabilitate his legacy and this certainly will not help if he interferes with the process.

ggal, wouldn't it be a helluva note if
the FBI recommends that Hillary be charged, DOJ declines, furious FBI agent(s) leaks the file, the agent(s) is discovered and becomes the only one(s) punished for Hillary's wrongdoings?
On a side note, some are saying that FBI Director Comey will resign if the Bureau recommends that charges be brought and Lynch declines. Gawd, I hope not! He has almost 7 years left in his term. Hang in there, Director Comey. If she's elected, odds are that she'll do something to give you another chance.

Politicians already have set the precedent though
Impeachment/Prosecution of Bush/officials for Illegal Wars - Off the table
Prosecution of those responsible for Financial collapse - Off the table
One set of rules for the commoners and little people - and another set of rules for the American Business, Wealth, and political classes.
As far as some.many are concerned - IOWACDI - It's OK When A Clinton Does It
They want this 'off the table too'.
I hope this doesn't get pushed under the rug. I expect it will. I hope my expectations are wrong.
I agree. Been watching them for decades. Nothing gets in the
way of Clinton family and whatever they want.

Politics is the entertainment branch of industry. - Frank Zappa
From much of what I've gleaned
from others who's opinions are better informed than my own, it seems that Comey my very well be biding his time as he is less than confident that the AG will move on a recommendation for indictment. In doing so, she may get elected and then the second best thing happens -- the R's will find cause to impeach on multiple grounds rendering her ineffective -- useless really as a sitting president -- giving them all they need to continue to obstruct.
Another scenario might be that she steps down before November. A plea agreement? Something like what was offered to BetrayUs?

I found Assange comments interesting
Assange said it was highly unlikely that the US attorney general, Loretta Lynch, would indict Clinton. “She’s not going to indict Hillary Clinton, that’s not possible. It’s not going to happen. But the FBI can push for concessions from a Clinton government,” he said
I have no idea what concessions would interest the FBI.
I also found this guardian article interesting:

Hard to live with uncertainty, but we've got to for another month I think.
How did the Abedin testimony go yesterday? Multiple fifths I assume?
“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
First notes on Abedin's testimony at JW hearings:
From Bloomberg, http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-06-29/clinton-s-private-...
She was cooperative, no fifths?, and slightly distancing herself from HRC.

After how hard they pushed Bernie to drop out
for the good of the General Election.
Clinton - a liar, and a security risk -
If she is indicted, and only drops out at the 'last hour', it will show again, the 'standards they apply to others (dropping out for the good of the general election') are much higher than the self serving ""standards"" they hold for themselves.

No doubt every word she uttered
had been cleared by the Clinton-chosen lawyer beforehand. So there is that. Correct the Record (LOL) is already trying to soft-spin the testimony. Check out Clinton email Investigation Timeline, a FB group of citizens gleaning details of the leaks, articles, web of deceit.

I am just too cynical to believe
that she will be indicted before the Primary. He makes some very good points, and if we were living in the US before Bush v Gore, Ed Snowden and this ripped off Democratic primary, I might believe him on the precedents at risk of being set without indictment, but after that SCOTUS decision and it's blatant rigging of an election, I'm not sure I have that much faith anymore in our captured government. The NSA is still in business, exposure aside, and we all can see just what happened to our primary.
Pretty damning for four years of Pagliano's emails to just not exist too. It's all there, right out in the open now, and I still think it won't happen before the Primary. As for Obama's legacy, I think what must be on that damned server probably "indicts" him too, and he will bend over backwards to prevent that from coming out. No, I think they push this off until after the Election, and once she's safely ensconced. But it won't go away forever, so then we can look forward to Impeachment hearings and all the hype, blather and outrage those will bring on. Plus, it will completely obstruct ANY meaningful action out of an already worthless Congress, keeping the neo-liberal order alive and well fed. She'll get her wars started though, they'll all be down for those.
Just my two cents, cynical and depressing as it is. I don't mean to be a downer, but I can't be that hopeful anymore.
