Media Bullying- Stop the Democratic Nominee Lie of June 7
I seek and enjoy the truth and it seems we are in short supply of it these days. This item has been in the back of mind for the past few weeks and I needed to share it with you because it is driving me crazy.
Unless something major happens neither Bernie nor Hillary will have enough pledged delegates to secure the democratic presidential nominee on Tuesday, June 7. Let me repeat this fact neither Bernie nor Hillary will have enough pledged delegates to secure the democratic presidential nominee! Therefore, they will go to the July convention without enough pledged delegates for the nominee.
However, the Democratic establishment and media will crown her majesty (Clinton) the democratic presidential nominee right after the New Jersey results are announced. I can see it now, all the major new networks and media outlets will send out breaking news banners and graphs that display Clinton is now the official Democratic presidential candidate. I can envision John King looking and smiling at the map then working out the math and saying "No ifs, ands or buts, based on my calculations Hillary is the democratic nominee." My guess all the stories are written and waiting to be displayed or loaded to their sites. Moreover, each network will have their panel of so call experts, and each one will fall all over themselves talking up Hillary and the general election. Even though the chances of Bernie winning the rest of the outstanding races that evening is good, but these results will be ignored because they will be praising the queen. Finally, they have wanted this race to be over since March- remember March 15? So know they can make the "official" announcement they have been waiting for months to proclaim and get onto the general election-finally.
Please help spread the truth and fight against this disingenuous lie. How? Talk to your family, friends, and coworkers. Tell them the truth, Super Delegates have not voted yet and anything can happen. Most importantly do not let the controlled media influence your votes or support, understand the truth. Post, tweet and spread the truth- we do not have a Democratic nominee, because of the lack of pledged delegates, until the July convention.
I do not care who you support for the general election, but at least understand, embrace and share the truth. The truth is the only weapon that we have against the establishment.

He does have to win more
He does have to win more pledges to put moral pressure on supers to change. I fear how things will work out is that he will win the most delegates in California but still not surpass her overall. Unfortunately most of his voters just don't bother with the primaries, either because they are closed or because they don't get how things work. Hillary voters get the system and control it, but are not knowledgeable about what she truly stands for or they know and don't care. I can't work up enthusiasm about the platform since I see no evidence the Democrats honor it.
We are operating in an environment of extensive voter purges
and even repeated fraud, since at least AZ.
If you think "unfortunately, most of his voters just don't bother with the primaries, either because they are closed or because they don't get how things work" based solely on the vote totals, I'd urge you to look into these dirty tricks and shenanigans.
If you have other evidence supporting the idea that Bernie voters are lackadaisical about turnout or uneducated about how to vote, I'd like to see it.

...pledged delegate counting...
If HRC currently has 1,770 pledged delegates, and the total needed to obtain the nomination outright in advance of the convention is 2,383 then she needs 613. There are only 781 total pledged available before all the primaries will be over. That means she would need 78% of all remaining pledged delegates if she were to obtain the nomination outright prior to the convention.
Here are some delegate number sites I have been following:
http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/election-2016/delegate-targets/democ...
http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P16/D-PU.phtml
Yes facts are important
This is exactly why I wrote this essay- because the race is not over yet do not let the lies of others tell you otherwise. I get it she is in the lead, but until everything vote (or delegate) is counted anything is possible.
Of course
the way in which Hillary got in "the lead" does not itself inspire trust. With the odd deviation from exit polls, to the voter "purges," to the inexplicable switching of registrations, and of course the nasty business in Nevada, it may well be that if a truly fair primary had been conducted, Hillary wouldn't even have this current plurality of pledged delegates. I understand the need to keep moving forward, but I have NO plans of forgetting what happened this primary season, and I suspect most of everyone here has similar plans....

Wow- long article but great details
Thank you for sharing and that is crazy- not surprising but it makes me sad.
Thank you! I'd read this but couldn't remember where and
wanted to pass it along.

This.
Here is a good mathematical analysis. This guy was banned from DKos in 2005 because he refused to stop saying that the 2004 election was stolen. I managed to avoid banning because I stuck strictly to the experience *I* had in *my* precinct in FL, as a poll watcher, and Markos could hardly ban me for telling a personal story of my direct experience--back then. Now, I'm sure he'd ban me instantly.
Anyway, here's a good analysis:

If FACTS are so important
IF facts are so important, why do you give a flying fuck WHAT some of the Oligarchs which need to be thrown out of the Democratic party shriek in the press BEFORE the convention?
They STILL have to vote, person by person, state by state, AT THE CONVENTION.
If YOU are of the opinion, that so many delegates are weak-willed and shifty,
THEN WHY BOTHER TO WAIT FOR THE CONVENTION.
I'm sorry, but I've had it. I have a small insignificant life to stagger through, and a garden that BEGS for attention and some exhibition of HOPE for even a short future... I can nom longer run down the streets of my little home town screeching, THE SKY IS FALLING, THE SKY IS FALLING... AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWQP!
I did join this website because I DO believe in Bernie Sanders AND i'VE CAMPAIGNED FOR HIM even in states I don't live in and will never see, thanks to electronic media and digital telephonic communication. I won't bore you with WHY it is so important to me that he win and that ALSO AND EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY, both houses of Congress get hoovered clean of teabaggers, liberloonytoonies and blue dog democrats.
Another long time friend joined the site but seldom diaries here now, because she read voice after voice whiningly HINT that they might as well vote for Clinton or Trump. It depressed her to the point of immobility off line.
Me, my voice is shot and I really want order in my home and my garden, and when I have those, my mind wills tay strong and lefty.
Be well.

Because people are afraid that voters will buy it and be
discouraged out of voting. That's all.
Talking in your community is what's called for, not running down the streets shrieking.
The sky already fell. Some of us are sweeping up and building a new one, but there's a bunch of bastards running around getting in the way of the work.
If you're too tired to work now, god knows I understand that.
I hope your garden grows well.

I still have some stuff to plant to make a cool, green porch.
There are some insanely crazy grasses to plant at the edge of my property along the front in wooden planter boxes that say, along with the flagstones, "FU" to the master HOA, because they and the grasses are why I had the dandelion field ripped out in front and replaced with flagstoness and pea gravel filler, not water-shedding cement grouting. It drains when it rains. It's full of pots which hold sedums, laurels, weirdass little leaved brightly colored stuff that'd rip your socks off if it were planted as "ground cover" which it is ----- allegedly. ::shaking head:: the rest of the pots are full of screwball columbine, POPPIES.. both giant and regular perennials, and I harvest the seed pots to them and propagate them by hand every year to ensure they are present, long, leggy amd DEMENTED appearing in planters... big glazed pottery planters.. the kind you could bury a half dozen St Bernard half-grown puppies in... the kind it takes an army of strong backed weak minded men to move, along with a fork lift. In the middle of the yard is a monster (now.. 8 years ago it was 3 feet tall and dying) red Japanese maple, which I have fed religiously with HAPPY FROG JAPANESE MAPLE FOOD multiple times per year.. and even after a JUDICIOUS PRUNING LAST FALL IT IS HUGE and blocks view of the yard from the second floor of this dully gentle gray on gray house... and now NO ONE WITHIN 40 MILES OF ME SELLS THE STUFF.. so I had to mail order fertilizer. My beloved and the best nursery in WA state fell victim to a VICIOUS divorce and property settlement, and the remaining nursery in this town tries but simply does not cut it... and they're EXTREMELY SPENDY.
I'll be driving a LONG distance for things in the future. With one exception. I'll be buying ONE .. that's 1... TAURUS rhododendron in this fall, though it won't bloom properly until 2018... and when it does, it'll be 3 times the size it was when I planted it because plants love me when i love on them.. .and the blooms with be SCREAMING RED-ORANGE.. you know not pale salmon or old lady wrinkle lip cracks purple red but "THE WHORE HOUSE IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS RIGHT NOW" RED-ORANGE.
Next year I'll grow food again, if I live that long. And unless they straighten up and act like kindly folks, my neighbors won't get a bite of it.. even the black tomatoes.. superfruits that they are...
I've done my very last phone banking to CA for Bernie. I voted for him in WA... and I'll -- oh, please PLEASE Hecate... vote for him November 8.
And you be well.. do something hopeful, hon... if you don't, you'll go nuts.

Hugs to you from another planter of plants
I still have some herbs to pot up, up-pot so that the annual ones might yield a few who are healthy enough to import for the winter. Perennials are in the ground. And yes to columbines, I also seed gather and scatter and there are currently 2' tall flower heads of pink, burgundy, blue, blue/white, double pink. I have a rarely-seen friend in Montreal who has given me pounds of hollyhock seeds, collected on cite streets. I scattered those, and a few found homes to their likes. That property is abandoned by me now. Long ongoing tale.
Tomatoes, blacks, blues, reds all in pots. And a weather change coming today, temps too cool for tomatoes and beans. Lows in the 40's for a few nights.
My minimal grass is now going to seed. I wait until most are ripe and then whack them back (hand or battery power) to something approaching "subdivision" height. By that time, time to gather and scatter columbine seeds. tend your garden. November is a ways off still.

Yup.
That means she would need 78% of all remaining pledged delegates if she were to obtain the nomination outright prior to the convention.
Thank you for the unintentional virtual hug.

Mmmm!
Really! Is there and actual recipe associated with it?
Yes! It took me a minute to find it. Good thing I saved the
original name of the photo! The recipe is here, http://www.recipe.com/blueberry-ice-cream/
I don't know about blueberries and orange juice, though. I might cut them in half, add a little turbinado sugar, water, and Amaretto, and let them sit overnight in the frig to blend, then proceed with the recipe. I love blueberries and Amaretto!

Yeow! I am not a fan of spiders and stay away from them as
much as possible in all their forms, but those look like blackberries and blackberry pie is very very good! I often use Ugly Pie, which I found online, it's mostly apples and doesn't look all that ugly to me but it's kind of brown and lumpy, but that's its official name so fits the occasion. I sometimes use Kentucky Derby pie, being from Kentucky. But I like to mix it up.
Still, blackberries, yum!! And I like the "pie so good, it's insane!" part too!

Light bulb just came on...
What we need is a big name in politics...I would suggest Obama...to come out and make a statement regarding any possible pronouncements. Several big names would be better, but time is short. If he has any interest in democracy he will do it (I think, maybe, I hope).
How to reach him? That is a bit of a problem now that the weekend is upon us. However, if someone--sorry, I cannot--can find a phone number or more that someone will take messages off of on Monday, we could flood the lines. Ditto emails. If he really thinks she safely has the nomination in the bag, he should not have a problem with making a statement to try to stop something that is clearly not democratic. Or would he prefer his legacy be tainted by his refusal to do so?
Maybe do the same for congresspeople who are known for their integrity.

But, the media would have to broadcast the event
and they obviously won't, since they'll be too busy trying to help Hillary win.

As a way to tell my friends, I just sent out an email invite:
Subject: it is decreed
Hear ye, hear ye all sovereign subjects, it is decreed there shall be a royal coronation this coming Tuesday, June 7th!
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/king-tv-networks-ready-give-hil...
It is so declared by self-appointed national crier Chris Matthews of the realm of MSNBC, that the MSM tv networks have been called on to call the Democratic nomination for her royal highness-in-waiting Hillary Clinton upon the closing of polls in New Jersey at 8pm eastern time, 7pm for us midwestern peons, and 5pm, or 3 hours before polls close for the west coast, which has been deemed unsuitably alien to consider in such an hour of great import. They are, of course, basing this call both on their projections of how the superdelegates will cast their votes, even though that can't and won't happen until the convention of July 25th, and on the fact that mainstream media is a joke in every possible parameter of reportage, including that which they consider imperative to their profession....... WE MUST BE FIRST!...... even at the risk of being wrong.
Come and watch this sublime spectacle with me....I may need help restraining my, uhhh.....enthusiasm? Bring your favorite crown, or at least a tiara as offering, and prepare to genuflect (too catholic?) before her majesty's royal image festooned in glorious technicolor graphics.
I don't know about food, or how impertinent eating might be at such an exultant event as this...shall the peasants eat gruel? Maybe we could be let to eat cake, if someone would so bake. I'll start a woodfire to grill, or in case anyone feels the need to char some token effigy, and I've got a collection of skewers for kabobing (do NOT look that up on urban dictionary...really, just don't), or which might suffice for those inclined to a voodoo or two.
Come as you are; you will leave transformed anyway. Maybe you won't feel it right away, but I have a feeling this may be a life-changing event for us all...unless we can still Bern the palace down.
Come anytime prior to the appointed time of the royal proclamation and.....please help me through all this!!!!
"If I sit silently, I have sinned." - Mossadegh
I don't understand why it matters at this point.
David Shuster tweeted that if Bernie wins CA, some super-delegates will change their votes. Failing that, Hillary will be the nominee----sad, but true. However, unlike when Hillary lost to Obama, and her selfish self wanted the SoS slot, Bernie doesn't want anything for himself. He wants policies that will be helpful to everyone. Regardless of whether Bernie wins the nomination, he's already won 46% of the voting public. That entitles him to play a part in the policies adopted by the Dem Party. If the party turns their back on him, there's a good chance his supporters will turn their backs on the party. Welcome President Trump.
So, unless it's a pride thing that you just can't shake, let it go. We've already won a bunch. And much to the dismay of the party, they know it, whether the media knows it or not.
Why it matters
because even though this is true:
and in theory, this is true:
In reality, that ain't gonna happen.
Not only that, they don't care.
One of their many "missions" is to essentially destroy our parties. By doing that, the fact that "parties" are so entrenched into our political system, particularly the actual mechanics of our balloting procedures, that it throws a bunch of roadblocks into future elections.
We have to start thinking beyond traditional circumstances. All of this matters.
I agree this is technically true.
Whoever gets the most pledged delegates will get the super delegates in the end, but the one reason I don't like so many people telling people to stop being involved or excited about their candidate is because excitement is supposed to be there. I don't want people feeling like they're having their enthusiasm crushed by Democrats.
one more thing, possibly
Write letters to the editor of your local papers.
Local Papers?
Very few LOCAL newspapers left. Thanks Bill Clinton and George W. Bush for your FCC legislation enabling this media consolidation. Most now owned by Rupert Murdoch, corporate friends of Hill, or the Kochs.
There's a curious byproduct of that
I see a lot of free "local" sites with community "letters to the editor" sections. A real good example exists in the next county to the south of us. They used to show up like clockwork every Thursday when we lived in that burg, and it was a free paper.
People are being creative in the void of "news" in America today. Well, they're trying, put it that way. It's kind of nice, even if it doesn't always succeed, it's the effort that counts.
CNN, FOX, MSNBC etc are evil
The brainwashing they are engaged in is an evil deed for evil purposes plain and simple. They need to be boycotted.
Beware the bullshit factories.
