I watch commercial TV off an antenna, 62 stations that come in fairly good.
I know...junk programing, much of it out of the last century. Reruns of old 60s-70s sitcoms that are essentially reruns from the Honeymooners and Life of Riley era. You know, when AM radio and green stamps were king.

Arrogance and Ignorance
Today's title is a description of US/Western leadership courtesy of Col Larry Wilkerson in his 40 min conversation with Dima. Larry was also on with the Judge this week discussing Blinky at Davos. I've been describing US diplomacy as just threats and sanctions. It isn't just the US. Did you catch any of the WEF arrogance and ignorance on display this week?

Album of the Week 1-20-24

Well, here comes another bunch of great tunes. Starting off we've got Koko Taylor's first album for the Chess label produced by Willie Dixon, following that there's a 70's album from Texan Phillip Walker. There's a bunch of great blues-rock this week with albums from The Blues Magoos, The J. Geils Band, Roy Buchanan and Brownsville Station. In the diversity department, there's a Taj Mahal album which incorporates some of his Hawaiian and calypso leanings followed by a Jim Kweskin album in an early jazz vein and we finish off with an excellent album by Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin and Paco De Lucia.

Travel woes *Update
Submitted by on the cusp on Sat, 01/20/2024 - 1:31pmThere are many companies you can use for discount hotel and vacations homes booking. Several have failed me or failed friends. The one I have always had wonderful experiences with is Expedia, and their subsidiary, Vrbo.
Vacation homes through Vrbo typically partner with a local agency. As an example, a Hill Country Vrbo booking puts us in contact with a local agency in Fredericksburg called Gasthaus. We deal directly with them if we have any questions or concerns.

Unlike most of the rest of the country, San Diego has been warm and dry this week. Temps hit the mid 70s on Tue and yesterday. But the good times don't last forever. There is rain in the forecast for this weekend and early next week. Oh well. At least the price of gas dropped another 15¢ a gal in the last week. Now it only costs you an arm instead of an arm and a leg when you fill up the car.
Stay warm and dry and have a great weekend.
