I recently came back after a long silence. My first essay was the reason. The two that followed were the product of the sadness in me after seeing no change in people's attitudes after all that has happened. I come across as disrespectful when I don't respect things that are echoes of the same litany over and over again. I'm sorry for the effect that has had on some of you but I will not pretend to respect views I see as destructive.
