My apologies for anybody that was hoping to see damsels in distress being menaced by fire breathing dragons. Unfortunately all I have tonight are Damselflies and Dragonflies.
To tell the difference between Damselflies and Dragonflies, Damselflies are smaller and have two wings which they fold back along their body when not in flight and Dragonflies have four wings that are always outstretched even when not in flight.

Anyway, we were touring Middle Earth last year in the off season. Here's a shot of the entrance to Moria. Suffice to say, the trek through the mountain is as scary as the account given by J.R.R. Tolkien in his guidebook to the area. The balrog is a 'must see'... or rather a 'must run away'.

The darkness begins to descend, so a decent clam chowder seems fitting.

Just before I leave, here's a shot I took just outside Hobbiton, The Shire, last year, whilst on a wander around Eriador. Interesting place, and the beers are great. The Golden Perch is recommended.

Anyway, here's a daguerreotype I took in Paris in 1854, around the time the Army of the East marched off to the Crimea. Good times.
