As such, I was detached from an apparent brouhaha developing over the issue of sexual harassment, leading to flame wars, outrage, and abandonment of this site.

It got an interesting mix of responses. Some responses amounted to saying that I was over-reacting. To which my response is "I'll believe my own lying eyes over your opinion. Thank you very much."
Then today I saw this article.

This essay is a conflation of two important but somewhat related issues: the protections against gender abuse and a substitution for established legal systems. I suspect most of the comments will deal with the first issue but the second issue is actually at least as important.
