Federal questionnaire with 5 bullet points for last week:
1) I came in late for work to test my boss to see if he would dock me. He hadn't got there yet. I made a note in my log.
2) I spent an hour in the bathroom playing games on my phone and he didn't know I was even gone. Then I noticed he come out behind me. I made another note in my log.

The European elite and US neocons are in panic mode over ways to keep the Ukraine proxy war going. They were in literal tears as they closed down the Munich Security Council. Macron and Starmer are headed to DC to beg their master for more war. Pepe calls them Chihuahuas, and Putin predicted they would come to heel at the foot of their master. The summit in Riyadh was a good first step at normalizing US/Russian relations. Let's hope we continue down that path. D.O.G.E. is looking dodgy to me suggesting rebating taxpayers rather than applying it to our massive debt. Perhaps they see it as a stimulus package? Kash Patel made it through the senate to be appointed head of the FBI. Let's hope he follows through on his promised transparency and document releases. Plus lots more below the fold!

Afternoon folks!

It's a blue, blue week. Starting off we have an album from harmonica ace Little Sonny, followed by a double album delta blues compilation of Charley Patton recordings from the days of noisy 78's - there are a couple of cuts that were blocked by some German company that bought up the rights to a couple of 90+ year old tunes that should by all rights be in the public domain but for our bought-off, coin-op congress. After that there's an album of Chicago blues from multi-instrumentalist Maurice John Vaughn and a Robert Cray album. Following that we've got some John Hammond and we finish up with some reggae from Bob Marley.

I read a meme that said " Wow! It's been a helluva year this week!" Z and Trump having a bitch fight, a possibility the Epstein Client List will be revealed, Going all BFF with Russia, a federal judge ruling that Biden's preemptive pardons are unconstitutional, etc... I like that meme!

I was born in 1954 and began observing politics in the mid 60s. Even though politics has always been contentious the current level of vitriol is over the top. I'm well aware of how volatile various periods of US history were, to the point of violence, but in my lifetime, current politics have reached a crescendo of hate that I think may end up with bad consequences.

Thinking back on it all, I believe the recent trend started back in the Clinton and Gingrich era and has steadily grown ever since. That's when the impeachment tit for tat began and has become a feature of modern politics. It didn't use to be this way. Members of both houses of Congress used to work across the aisle, oh sure they had their differences but at the end of the day they'd go out together and have dinner and drinks and were friendly towards one another. It's quite different today.
