Open Thread Friday 2-7-2020

Nearly everyone starts at sometime working on their health. Some wait until an accident or health event creates a sudden interest and action. At this point anger or fear often generate the energy to address ones own health. Best not to sustain for a lifetime it can create bitter lonely persons. At some point one can accept where they are at as a baseline without emotional baggage. The power to make self directed changes comes from a deeper spiritual place.

American's generally believe ourselves to be a science based culture. Often arguing about whose science is better at supporting their side of proposed regulatory or legislative change. Persuading us which product to buy or treatment to have prescribed.

This round of writing I have noticed fewer full research articles are available. Abstracts do not provide enough information to evaluate the quality of the research.

I am publishing my original piece by my mind today is on the middle east. I don't see a scenario where Iran does not respond to the assassination.

The expectation of modern American medicine is that as individuals we are compliant to the system. The self-responsibility morphed last century to a system of doctor diagnoses, approved therapies and treatments. Physician had control of who was admitted and discharged from medical facilities and the type of care received while an inpatient. This century the medical doctor is loosing power of control of healthcare and lives to the insurance companies, government and treatment protocols influenced by commercial interests.

Self-care is growing in importance once again as our healthcare system is becoming less accessible to many citizens. From the early 1900's to about 30 years ago access limits were often due to physical location of practitioners and medical facilities. Most of us are now within a few miles of some type of medical care availability and cost has become driving factor limiting medical care.
