I am publishing my original piece by my mind today is on the middle east. I don't see a scenario where Iran does not respond to the assassination.
----
The expectation of modern American medicine is that as individuals we are compliant to the system. The self-responsibility morphed last century to a system of doctor diagnoses, approved therapies and treatments. Physician had control of who was admitted and discharged from medical facilities and the type of care received while an inpatient. This century the medical doctor is loosing power of control of healthcare and lives to the insurance companies, government and treatment protocols influenced by commercial interests.

Computerized medical records are increasing the efficiency of the power transfer. Many of the computerized medical records in use are designed to optimize revenue. Conversions from one system to another happen occasionally and can create gaps in information. Your complete history may not be accessible to your provider. If you have special circumstances such as allergies, see practitioners in different clinics, known risk factors for medical conditions, previous diagnoses or have a complicated medical history you need to maintain your own records. Have those records with you at each appointment and admission to reduce the risk of decisions being made or treatments provided without a critical piece of information being available.

Continuing the Journey into Chinese Medicine
The difficulty of explaining Chinese medicine is it developed in a culture that viewed the world as energy based, not as simply physical matter. Qi is a major concept and is basically translated as energy. Different types of Qi are identified within the Universe of heaven, man and earth. The various Qi have the ability of influencing each other. Herbs and other treatments are selected to effect Qi of an organ system (such as kidney). Without understanding the type of energy being influenced simply taking an herb identified as helpful for kidney has the risk of causing more harm than good.

Five Elements represents different processes and how they interrelate. When originally identified by Western translators about 300 year ago they were misidentified as matter not energy systems
[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwjljoYWY5M]

Qigong is the training and study of energy in man. Medical, martial arts, scholar and spiritual practices of Buddhism and Taoism approach qigong a little differently. Most modern Western literature focuses on qigong for health.

Basic Concepts of Qi and Qigong - Part 1
Basic Concepts of Qi and Qigong - Part 2

The most basic Qigong, in which the practitioner doesn't need to know any qigong theory, uses mostly physical effort and the mind is not involved very much. This can be aerobics, dancing, walking or jogging in which the mind is just relaxed and harmonized. This does not need special training, and is classified as secular Qigong. In intermediate Qigong, mental and physical activity are combined in equal measure. This would be the slow-moving Qigong commonly practiced, in which the mind is used to lead Qi in coordination with movement. With slow, relaxed movements, the Qi led by the mind may reach deeper into the ligaments, marrow and internal organs. Deep internal feeling can lead Qi there significantly. Taiji, White Crane, Snake, and Dragon are typical systems of Qigong, cultivated intensively in Chinese medical and martial arts societies.

At a deeper level of practice, the mind becomes critically important. It is actively involved while you are in deep relaxation. This is cultivated primarily by scholars and religious Qigong practitioners.

Part one of this series does stretch our Western concepts to far. If you find it interesting watch the last two in the series the author is suggesting current scientific concepts to explain his understanding of Qi. His CDs are better, he does his own lecture.

My mind is on Iran, too. Gold, silver, and oil are on their way up. This is bad news. I guess we'll see what happens but it doesn't bode well.

Let's all try and have a good day and weekend. Pleasantry

US health care is based on diagnosing, prescribing, and maybe cutting.

I like the approach of the functional doctors better. They suggest each disease may be caused by various factors from gut bugs to heavy metals to glyphosate to a deficiency to...

Eastern health practice is a total mystery to me. So I learned a good bit from your OT today. I once saw a metal acupuncture practice dummy with all the holes labeled that was hundreds of years old in the Atlanta art museum years ago. Lots of cools stuff in that China exhibit...like an embroidery on silk that made different pictures on both sides of the cloth, a 2 thousand year old seismometer, a giant loom that required 7-8 people to operate, and lots more.

Hope all is well on the farm and winter is gentle.

... who had "#MadPrezDonny starts a world war because his breakfast toast was burnt"?

Escalation, culminating in closing the Straights of Hormuz, bombing of Saudi Arabia's oil terminals, bombing of Iran's oil terminals. Shutting down export from the Persian Gulf would pull about 24 million barrels per day off the world market.

We get the mother of all depressions. The good news, carbon emissions go down. The bad news, artificial aersol production goes down, they wash out of the atmosphere in a matter of weeks, and we get another 1C of warming in a matter of months. Agriculture fails, famine spreads.

But maybe Donny boy gets reelected out of the deal and stays out of jail a while longer.

my mind is elsewhere, watching the US commit another terrorist act of war against another non-aligned non-subservient state, or, in this case, pair of states, as we violated Iraq's sovereignty and conducted a political assassination of an Iranian official on Iraqi territory. Thanks for the OT and the background info on Chinese traditional medicine.

Have a good one.
