They say everything looks good when you are young. I've been challenged here for thinking that the '50s and '60s were the good times. This was recently posted by my financial advisor.

The changes in this country regarding income inequality since 1980 are a direct consequence of the policies, acts, bills, and other actions created and taken, or not taken, by our representative government during the 1980 to present time period and some years prior.

It’s tiring worrying about politics.

Like most people my days are busy. Filled with work and family. Each day I spend hours working with the most vulnerable victims of systemic income inequality and social injustice. The non-profit I have the privilege of working for assists people experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty. It’s rewarding and necessary, though at times tiring and discouraging.

Widely distributed income and wealth and the power and influence they confer within the public sphere are VITAL to democracy and justice. Real democracy and justice will not, cannot exist when income, wealth and power are highly concentrated.
