Students Keep Aim True against Gun Violence

Not long after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting massacre on February 14th in Parkland, Florida, many students of the school organized to cut gun violence in the USA. And their aim was true and clear. One of the students that expressed that aim was Emma Gonzalez. Just three days after the massacre, she gave a famous speech, which wound up with:

Politicians who sit in their gilded House and Senate seats funded by the NRA telling us nothing could have been done to prevent this, we call BS. They say tougher guns laws do not decrease gun violence. We call BS. They say a good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun. We call BS. They say guns are just tools like knives and are as dangerous as cars. We call BS. They say no laws could have prevented the hundreds of senseless tragedies that have occurred. We call BS. That us kids don't know what we're talking about, that we're too young to understand how the government works. We call BS.

If you agree, register to vote. Contact your local congresspeople. Give them a piece of your mind.

Let's look at some of the facts that back up Gonzales's statements, and call to action.

Reality Check: Hillary has no intention of delivering on the gun control thing!

Hillary Clinton has no more intention of delivering on gun control than Barack Obama did. 1)It would require a Democratic Congress. The last thing in the world a 3rd way democrat wants is a Democratic Congress, because then they are expected to govern like Democrats. "Real Democrats" do stuff like defend the 99%, with high wages, a real public option, not to mention protecting social security. I mean "Bleck!" 3rd way dems don't do Dem stuff well, and don't want to.

First, take a look at a simple, narrow comparative illustration, before viewing the full comparison of the respective horrors of gun deaths and "terrorist" deaths and their costs to society.

During the 12 months of 2015, 1 January to 31 December, 16 people died and 22 were injured in two Islamicist attacks in the U.S.A.1

Gun Control and Boeing Sales

Hope I am in the right place. I was new to Dailykos as drkst user name. Wish someone would ask Hillary and even her supporters who are so sensitive to slights, why is it okay to hold US gun makers liable for deaths but not Boeing who has sold death weapons to Saudi Arabia. These Boeing weapons have been used to kill civilians. Why is it okay? Do Hillary and her supporters think these lives are less significant? How privileged is that?
