Morning. Not sure why the content of today's Open Thread is such a downer. Intended to write a uplifting thread on the value pets bring to our lives. Whether the pet is our own, a frequent visitor in our lives or a one time meeting those relationships can change our lives.
In the midst of season change. Last of the hay was stacked in the barn this week. Cattle and donkeys are complaining about the quality of the grass in the field. Maybe if they were let into another field it would taste better. Active imagination and dissatisfaction with the status quo is not limited to humans.

Did not include any of the Portland drama. It is well covered at The Oregonian with a number of articles. Portland is a good spot for these dramas play out as they do every few years within political cycles. The city is not vital to the US economy, multiple major news organizations have a presence, easy access with an International airport and highways, and plenty of citizens protesting to shield primary instigators. It will probably end as all the others have with violence.
Story starts in a familiar pattern - hunter, hiker, fisherman found xxx. Fill in the blank bones, remains or body. The who it is needs to be solved before the who did it and why can be investigated. Maybe a clue in an old missing person or runaway reports quickly filed away. Or talk to the older cop still obsessing with an cold case.
