Billionaires

Coalition politics in America today

If you believe the election hype, either 1) Trump made America great, and if you re-elect him he'll keep making America great, or 2) America was great before Trump, who came out of nowhere to make America a bad thing, and America will be great once again when Joe Biden shows up in January to claim the White House.

By the end of 2017, there were over 2,000 (2,043) billionaires on planet Inequality, an increase of about 13% over 2016. 195 were added during the year to include 76 from China and 25 from the U.S. In 2010, there were 1,011 with a total net worth (listed) of $3.6 trillion.

Time to Pay the Military Like the National Basketball Association

Pro athletes, particularly those in the professional basketball, baseball, football and hockey leagues, are whining again about getting their share of the pie. The way they figure it, the billionaires and investors who own the teams are raking in the dough and since it's because of their "skills", they deserve more of the massive profits. Without them, there would be no leagues and no profits.

Open Thread - "Take their money and let them go"

Kshama Sawant, the socialist Seattle city council woman and member of Socialist Alternative, penned a reply to Trump's address to Congress. It's worth a read, but one part stuck out to me, a recommendation:

"The wealth of these 8 richest billionaires should be confiscated and democratically allocated for the needs of the majority."

Hell ya.

Anyone who has read my essays knows I am an old time Latino anarcho-communist who supports revolutions such as those in Bolivia, Venezuela and most lately in Rosava. I have consistently denounced USA war crimes, crimes against humanity, corruption and subversion of our governments in Latin America and the Caribbean. I am no racist xenophobe, and couldn't be even if I had a psychological disability.

Bernie Sanders on Hillary's Votes and Positions: "I don't think you are qualified to be President if..."

The Very Best Candidate to Preserve the Status Quo!

Of course, the Ruling Elite has their hair on fire after hearing this statement of Bernie's because, in their eyes, each and every item on this list makes Hillary Clinton eminently qualified to be the next President of the United States.

Bernie Sanders speaking last night at rally at Philadelphia:

Constructive Criticism for Hillary

Markos has stolen a page from Ronald Reagan and promulgated an 11th Commandment for Democrats. Reagan's 11th Commandment was, "thou shalt not speak ill of any other Republican." In the case of Markos it's "thou shalt not criticize Hillary Clinton." He did leave a little wiggle room, however -- constructive criticism is allowed. Even though this isn't the Daily Hillary I take Markos's admonition against gratuitous anti-Hillaryism
