Maybe I heard this wrong--because that's been a problem. Although I didn't actually "sell my soul for rock and roll" I certainly paid for it with my ears. At any rate, I had the pleasure of seeing Bernie address an extremely enthusiast audience inNew York City on June 23, 2016. My apologies to any c99'ers who many have commented on this speech already, although I didn't perceive any essays whose title referenced that event.
Andrea Mitchell appears only to harangue Sanders and demand to know if he will suspend his campaign ahead of the national convention:
The DOW went up nearly 300 points today.
[repost from Dkos a while back... was thinking about writing something tonight, but have too much on my mind. Thought maybe I'd repost this piece that got little attention over there if anyone is interested in discussing.]
There is no need to call for a revolution. It already happened decades ago. There is only a need to complete it.
A revolution does not take place when one group replaces another in power. That's a coup. Those take place all the time in our country and others but there is no impact on the condition of the people. The only thing that changes is who reaps the benefits of the people's work.
What are those pathetic people supporting Hillary telling her? What are her corrupt superdelegates telling her? What is that strange woman who used to be Rachel Maddow telling her? What are Chris Matthews and the other reactionary robots at MSNBC telling her? What are Markos and his feeble frontpagers telling her, what are so many sorry ass people who can't handle the truth telling that posturing plutocrat princess?
Lie to me.
When last we checked on Massachusetts, it seemed as if progress were...er...progressing apace. The Senate had passed their version of the Transgender Public Accommodation bill 33-4, the House had passed their version 116-36 and Governor Charlie Baker had said he would sign the House version.
Now somehow we have slowed to whatever is less than a snail's pace. I'd suggest a glacial pace...but you know how vanishing those are becoming.
And the current legislative session is fast approaching conclusion.
What's that you say? The People's Summit was a failure? Surely you jest. By many accounts it was a roaring success.
