CityRocks and Privateers
I think the stress of the last few weeks has finally caught up with me. My thoughts and mind are completely blank it seems, and I can't get around that right now. So, let's do some fun music and this open thread is OPEN!
In Hungary there is/was this 'thing' called CityRocks (youtube channel). It's basically a flash mob, 500 musicians or so, that get together and play songs. They started in 2017. And... they rock .
Here they are playing some Queen - 'We Will Rock You!' And all I got to say is DRUMS!
And some Metallica! It's funny, I not a Metallica fan, but I love this song and this version of it! 'Enter Sandman':
And because New Wave/Punk is also music (well, to me): CityRocks doing Depeche Mode - 'Personal Jesus':
Finally, to change the musical genre completely, here's a Swedish 'folk rock' band, Ye Banished Privateers (Wikipedia page).
'You and Me and the Devil Make Three'. This is an acoustic version, so the sound isn't as great as the album version (which is here) but... I love live music and I like seeing them sing and play, the cannon balls made me laugh, the... well it's obvious Bonny isn't always a woman, right? BOOM.
And the same band singing 'Libertalia' live:
Ok, that was fun and now my mind, at least the musical part (which is all of it, probably!), is working a bit more :). Obviously, this is the open thread! Post what you are thinking about, reading, learning, doing, whatever. And thanks for reading and listening!

Happy Thursday!
Hope everyone is doing well. It is rainy, very rainy, but 'warm' here. Maybe we are out of drought?
The garlic brushed off the extreme (for here) lows a few weeks ago. So did the leeks. The celery and the lettuce did NOT. They are done. So I guess, go garlic, go leeks!
I just read that Biden is putting a 'pause' on the approvals for LNG terminals, etc. That's great, I guess. I want them to make the terminals illegal and stop them, not 'pause' them. I'm betting this is for the election, right? And after the election the 'pause' will be forgotten. Or am I too cynical? Notice the abortion stuff is ticking up again too? Maybe I really am too cynical.
Have a great day and let us know what's up!

Awesome, just awesome. I've seen videos of, heard music from, the White Stripes before. Didn't realized they were led by Jack White! Old lady memory, I think

As you can see
Anyway, I'm glad you liked the Jack White stuff! I didn't even post the best clips, but they are easy to find. I'm sure you've heard some of his work in the past...old lady brain like mine temporarily forgot.
Cheers to these people...

Yes, Cheers..
I hope the trial ends up doing the right thing, and finds Israel guilty, which it is!

Yup
It is not easy to find stuff that is not depressing so I tried
to find something humorous. But then again I have a warped sense of humor.
That made me LOL!
Thank you

Great crowd music!!!
Music lowers one's stress level, doesn't it? It was great to see kids getting into their playing! Great crowd music!
I never got to Denmark, but if I ever do, I will get to a concert hall, hopefully.
My fave flash mob video:
Thanks for the OT, Sima!

Great Video!
I love that flash mob too. It's so cool to see people getting into the groove, and I love how the musicians just appear out of the crowd
Never been to Denmark either. Closest I got was Amsterdam, a LONG time ago!! So, maybe we both put it on our bucket lists, if we get to traveling overseas again.

Amsterdam was my closest brush
I loved the little old lady's smile. Wish I had been on that train.
Maybe we will get "over there" again one day, Sima.

This lesson might come in handy due to ongoing world events.
Ummm, that's great!
I'm going to start with that, of course, only in the privacy of the farm at a goat being a pain in the butt, or something... yea, sure

Hi Sima, late as I often am, your Metallica brought back
a small journey which started with
A Renault ad last year...
Then led to a wonderful choir...
And then the original...Metallica
And a langiappe of a great cover...
Hope all your critters are well and that your stress is diminishing.
We have a healthy bouncy Tekel, Teddy and our heat is working when we give it the attention it needs.
Happy New Year, Sima.

Very nice Dawn
-
were you in the choir?
trust you are in good voice nevertheless
Hi QMS, been listening to Phil Collins this early morn.
Then mon mari et moi joined a 55 voice community/church choir lead by a truly skilled and lovely chef de cœur. He took us from single line church stuff to eight voice complex pieces from Bach to Bernstein, and music he wrote for us. We got two hours of practice each Friday in French as the rule is if only nine of us speak English including our leader, then we all speak French. He speaks very well and has given up his English citizenship. Brexit cost him 6000/year. He became a capellemeister for our diocese.
So late in life I have sung better than any time in my life. What a joy. And I could hear my tenor/baritone singing behind me. He has a wonderful solo voice for singer/songwriter stuff he self accompanies.
Great way to learn more French.
Hope you are warm and cooking good things.

Beautiful...
This is late, but I wanted to thank you for the great video journey. And your tales of your choir adventure are kinda inspiring, believe it or not. I have been told that taking up an instrument (again) is a good thing to do in my older years. Maybe singing is too! I might dust off my old rickenbacher electric guitar to see!
