Friday Photography - Peace, Love, and Understanding

The moon, which I trust promises the fullness it shows.
My mom is progressing in her recovery, as is my hope it continues. I am comforted by the simple fact that I am here with her whatever life may bring. It reminds me how simply rewarding each moment can be when we find the strength to make the most of it.

I was wandering as I tend to do.
Thanks for hosting janis
A slow river with subsurface meandering weeds caused a mesmerizing moment in time.
.
Then, something came creeping.
I'm sure my visions had nothing to do with one of my hobbies.
Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
Meandering and mesmerizing moments.
Thank you Pricknick, for the colour and movement of life in the weeds. "Weeds are only flowers in disguise". I don't know where I read that long ago, but it's true.
That last picture
is both a flower and a weed.
Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
Weed, but not a weed.
In my book, plants of the genus Cannabis are welcome anywhere!

You mean,
both fragrant and fanciful. Save me some, please.
The first one looks like an impressionist painting
are you still out rowing every day? I've forgotten where you do that?
Scientists are concerned that conspiracy theories may die out if they keep coming true at the current alarming rate.
My thoughts exactly
While I was watching them sway back and forth I too thought of an impressionist painting come to life.
Most of my time is spent on the River Raisin in southern MI. Unfortunately it is all but impossible to access in mid summer due to water levels at point of entry.
My kayak can be paddle, peddle or petro powered. 3 years in the design and construction and an excellent platform for photography. I plan on an excursion to Drummond Island in the next couple of weeks to see and photograph as much of the island from the lake as possible. If I can get one good picture per day I'll be thrilled.
Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.

Thanks.
That's not purple haze. It's Dark Purple. An absolutely wonderful auto-flower which I will be making feminized seeds from.
But yes, it will haze you.
Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
Good tidings to you, janisb ~
and greetings to your mom. You journey far, my friend. I know she is grateful for you. Treasure this time ~ I am aware you know this, but it always bears repeating.

Thank you very much Raggedy Ann
The more I repeat the sentiment, the easier I feel.
Thanks for Friday Photos tonight, Janis
I like the moon shots (in honor of Apollo 11?) and your music selection. Glad to hear your mom is getting better.
A little peace, love and understanding.

I'm great at multi-tasking. I can waste time, be unproductive, and procrastinate all at the same time.
There’s a lotta love there,
graphically most obvious in the first photo.
The psychedelic pink and lime green covers the rest. Thank you Social!
great pix SP!

Greetings folks
This is my second favorite tree at the cemetery. This would make a great bonsai.
Been seeing some great sunsets.

Evening snoopy
Your tree looks beautifully weathered and strong.
In the spirit of your Essay title, have a
photo banner which (I think) exemplifies "Peace and Love" and, maybe, "Understanding." At least, I hope folks will agree.
(Gotta get the Html code from Flickr, right after I take Kaity out.)
In the meantime, very happy to hear that your Mom is coming along well in her recovery. It must have been fate, that, if she had to fall, you'd be here with her, to comfort her. Sending beau coup karma your way.
Will catch up with you Guys, again, if Flickr cooperates, and edit this comment.
Thanks for hosting this evening, Janis.
And, thanks to all the excellent C99 photographers for sharing their work for all to enjoy.
Mollie
Everyone thinks they have the best dog, and none of them are wrong.
Hi mollie and Kaity,
hope you enjoyed your walk.
I'm looking forward to the image of how you envision peace, love, and (maybe) understanding.
All of that to you!
Evening all
Thanks for the friday pot.
Trying to post from my phone.

Hi magiamma
I hope your walk was as lively as the grasses you passed. Thank you.
evening janis...
heh, thanks for the version of "peace, love and understanding." wednesday night, elvis costello finished the evening with a pretty rousing version of it and it has been an earworm ever since.
this fellow (i think it's a red spotted purple) dropped by chez shikspack tonight for a visit. it's the first one of these that we've had visit ms. shikspack's garden.
glad to hear your mom is progressing (hopefully well).
Great pic JS!

Wow! Let’s hear it for Lepidoptera and you who know & love ’em!
Our sixth-grade teacher was married to an entomologist at U of Hawaii. She had everyone learn the names of the different orders of insects and put together an insect collection in a cigar box over the course of the year. We each had to pay 60 cents for a bunch of these special pins which were used to mount the specimens and their typed labels. Learned how to make a “killing jar” with absorbent padding and carbon tetrachloride. (Kids and hazardous substances? Probably couldn’t do that nowadays.)
Hi joe, what a beauty.
Nice that it visited you and ms. shickspack.
Thank you for the well wishes.

A great-great grandfather
was in the Royal Horse Guards, mid 19th C. Mainly stationed at Windsor, so he trotted past Victoria and Albert when required. Just missed the Crimean War, although the Household Cavalry weren't sent anyway. The 5th Dragoon Guards charged in such a helmet (minus the horse hair)... it's very heavy, so I don't know how they did it.

has been a lifelong motto or mantra for me.
Here are a couple... lots of baby birds of all sorts out nowadays, we are at about peak productivity for the breeding season with many birds having got two or three sets out by now. We were at some ponds with lots of Black-bellied Whistling-Duck. Which have exploded with records all across the NE U.S. this spring and summer. I like the old Tree-Duck name as they are often perched in trees.

Here are some young chicks maybe a week out of the nest.

I have been too busy to be around much this week... Thanks Janis, great pix as always. I love your eye. Thanks everyone for all the great material all over the site. Especially JS and GJ.

Thank you, dystopian!
I dare anyone to listen to the full 16 minutes of this Chambers Brothers piece dystopian posted and not feel love, peace, and happiness, or be motivated to move.

So much beauty! Feeling the spirit of the »What’s Happenin’?«
karass of yesteryear. All that’s missing is that photo of the “Imagine” mosaic from Strawberry Fields in Central Park.
Somehow, I feel as though the sun is a wife and the moon is a
mistress. No idea why. Maybe it is the dark of night that surrounds her.
Interesting association Henry.
It made me wonder whether the sun is more mother than wife, while the moon is as you wonder, more the mistress.
It also made me wonder again why the German language attributes femininity to the sun and masculinity to the moon?
I don't know about the moon, but assuming the sun is female
may have to do with enabling soil to bring forth life. No clue, really: just spitballing.
