In Nashville, Tennessee, it took a white male juror to expose the most insidious form of white privilege that continues to exist - the privilege that in many jurisdictions black defendants are still judged more often than not by all white juries. White juries that result from the deliberate exclusion of eligible black jurors by prosecutors.

I was in a Bernie diary, where two individuals were discussing how every Bernie diary is quickly overrun with new users slamming Bernie. A new user that had just returned from a TimeOut for sh*tting in Bernie diaries, slammed Bernie supporters as being delusional and paranoid. My offensive statement: 'Speaking of new users...'

With news that a pro-Clinton PAC is spending money to “push back against” online commenters attacking Hillary Clinton, this site has degenerated into the nastiest meta infighting I’ve ever seen. Worse than 2008’s Clinton v Obama battles, and (maybe) worse than 2004’s Dean v Clark v Kerry shitstorm.

James Hansen is still speaking out for a carbon fee & dividend system. In an interview with Yale 360 a few weeks ago, he said
The one thing, which is most important, is the assertion by the fossil fuel industry and the people who support them, that it would be expensive to solve the problem, is absolutely wrong. There have been economic studies that show if you add a gradually rising fee to fossil fuels, by collecting a fee on fossil fuel companies at the source, the domestic mine, or port of entry, and if you distribute the money to the public, an equal amount to all legal residents, it would actually spur the economy. (emphasis added)
If Bernie Sanders doesn't clinch it today, I will continue donating through the convention, but will shift most of my money downballot progressives & to the Green Party & Jill Stein. Inside/Outside strategies are not about putting all our eggs in one basket. I really do hope Bernie considers breaking as a new party. He has the name recognition & willing donors to do it.
