Turns out the pipelines will actually raise gasoline prices 10 to 20 cents per gallon in the Midwest and Rockies, according to both Bloomberg and CNN - maybe that's the best argument to make to Trump? It would give him political cover to do the right thing, plus save us another expense in the short run.

Among all the major headlines today, the one with the potential for the most lasting impact and damage is that Donald Trump has narrowed down his Supreme Court nominee list down to two or three and will formally nominate someone next week. The only reason he is set to nominate anyone at all, of course, is that the Republicans in the Senate refused to even hold a vote on President Obama’s nominee, Merrick Garland in an unprecedented maneuver last year.

About 200,000 litres of oil spilled near Stoughton, Sask., last week, the biggest pipeline breach in the province since the Husky Oil spill last summer.
It happened on First Nations land near Stoughton, about 140 kilometres southeast of Regina.
