We are prone to Apophenia the tendency to perceive meaningful patterns within random data. Or, more generally, the tendency to perceive problems and/or solutions based upon prior experience (often the source of Apophenia).
I read the latest review by Matt Taibbi about the book "Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton's Doomed Campaign" and one thing stood out for me above all else. And while it applied to the Clinton and her campaign, it also applies to the Democrats current party leaders and elected officials.

The debate over identity politics continues to rage over the interwebs, but I've noticed one important question about the issue is rarely asked:
Is it winning? Is racism and sexism, as defined by pro-identity politics groups, being defeated?
The answer is unquestionably: No!
