You Can't Do Business Here.

I was reading the piece second piece linked by MsGrin. https://www.buzzfeed.com/chrishamby/the-billion-dollar-ultimatum?utm_ter...
"You have no right to do business in this country, take your business and go home."
Is that not a sovereign right? Isn't that the prerogative of a nation?
I think it is, but the idea really itched my brain. Something was off on the idea.
I mean, no country can just not allow a business to do business, can it?
Isn't that the point of a nation -- regulation of commerce?
Again, the itch...
We outlaw drugs. We have things that are unable to be sold. We do outlaw certain businesses and limit the scale and scope of others.
So, what's the problem? What was that itch in my brain when thinking "You can't do business here."

I don't know why not....
Isn't that what being a sovereign nation is all about? We also regulate religion. Rastas were told no weed. I don't think native Americans are allowed to do peyote either.
The one thing this election truly did was point out what a bunch of hypocritical, lying sacks of sh!t our government and politicians are. I haven't said the pledge of allegiance in a long, long time, but I stood. After the football guy, done with them all. No pledge, no star spangled banner. No nothing.

We (the USA) ignore “You can’t conduct military operations here”
from sovereign governments all the time (see Syria, Libya, and anyone else we target).
The West’s foreign-policy arm doesn’t respect other peoples’ sovereignty, so the West’s resource-extraction arm just piggybacks on that lawlessness.

You must be assimilated to the Washington Consensus.
No assimilation, and you are a terrorist.
Interesting perspective, for sure.
I just found it interesting because the very idea of a "legitimate" company not being allowed to do business in a country is almost unimaginable. That's not at all OK and speaks to our trouble.
