Train Wreck Coming

Open Thread Image.jpg

Empires rise and empires fall. We're living during one of those transitions which have occurred many times before. The loss of the dominance of the US dollar is happening before our eyes as American arrogance, aggression, and bullying has turned much of the world away from the US/west and toward the evolving "fair world" multipolar order. There are many signals flashing, giving warning, and it is time to think ahead and prepare for the coming storm.
This chart looks back 1400 years and charts the estimated relative supremacy of the great empires. Of note: the blue American A-frame with a peak around 1955, and the meteoric rise of red China.

Why the economy really sucks (blame Goldman Sachs) - 10 min

How banks like Goldman Sachs ruin our economies. You might not know it, but investment banks are responsible for engineering basically every financial crisis in history. And one stands out over the rest: Goldman Sachs, who have been called the most evil bankers in the world.

From the Great Depression, to oil crises, the Dotcom bubble collapse, and so much more, Goldman Sachs has been there to funnel as much profit into its pockets as possible, make the situation worse, and engineer crises that end up damaging the lives of sometimes billions of people around the world.

This video shows just how deep the rabbit hole goes when it comes to showing the power and influence a bank like Goldman Sachs has over our lives. And how in many ways, we're just pawns in their big financial game.

"Election night was a purple wave, and we are in a deep bear market," says market expert Todd “Bubba” Horwitz, founder of bubbatrading.com. "They are destroying competition, the way this administration is running the country," he tells Daniela Cambone. "It could be a brutal fourth quarter," with no clarity on policy, energy, or inflation, Horwitz continues. "The Fed is trying to raise rate into a recession," he says. He asks: "how can we expect a Santa Claus rally to show up if he's not literally bringing coal with him." "I'm hedged against the market, I'm buying more as we go down," Horwitz says. Trading position is short because we are going to see a massive sell-off as liquidity comes back to markets, he concludes.

Neil Oliver wonders if Britain still exists.

Neil Oliver: Today’s leaders have no loyalty to Britain or the British – none that I can see. Maybe a few still feel some loyalty – but are just too demoralised or scared to declare it, far less to do anything about it.

The shift in the power balance is due in part to sanctioning Russian commodities at the expense of western economies. Ukraine has proven to be the pivot point, with most of the world siding with the BRICS+ network and rejecting as much of the US domination as possible. I heard several excellent conversations this week on the nature of this transition.
The Duran: Freeze this conflict or escalate w/Garland Nixon (Live) An excellent hour conversation. Garland explains how, in his opinion, the US has purposefully de-industrialized Europe in order to restore some manufacturing in the states. With friends like us, who needs enemies?

The false narrative of Russiagate (which many still believe) laid the groundwork to paint Putin as Hitler. There's no self reflection in this dying empire. No recognition of the Biolabs we created on Russia's border, no coverage of the use of our donated weapons shelling Russian speaking Ukrainian citizens, nor the fact that speaking Russian was made illegal, opposition media was shut down, and the opposing party disbanded.

Zelensky And Bush To Give Joint Pro-War Presentation
War criminal George W Bush and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be appearing at an event next week at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, in partnership with US government-funded narrative management operations Freedom House and National Endowment for Democracy. The goal of the presentation will reportedly be to address the completely fictional and imaginary concern that congressional Republicans won’t continue supporting US proxy war efforts in Ukraine.

The US has amnesia. Why does no one remember the coup we created in order to install our pro-western puppets, nor how the US leadership class profited with their kids drawing million dollar salaries for a no show jobs. Nor, the Clinton Foundation receiving most of their donations from Ukrainian oligarchs. The media once recognized the Ukrainian military was infiltrated with avowed Nazis, but they now host them in the US congress as heroes. Not to mention literally throwing billions of dollar into the most corrupt country in Europe, as US bridges and roads crumble and the homeless huddle in tent cities. Flashing signals to me.

Americans Selling THEIR BLOOD To Make Ends Meet
Much discussion leading up to the 2022 midterms revolved around how important “the economy” would be in the final voting. Yet it seems like neither Republicans nor Democrats have much of a plan to help the more than 20 million Americans currently working two or more jobs just to pay rent, keep food on the table and take care of their medical needs. In fact, as a recent Guardian piece pointed out, there are Americans working multiple jobs who still have to sell their blood just to make ends meet.

So many secret wars you can't keep up with them all...Another sure sign of end of empire.

How many wars is the United States involved in? It's not a handful. Try FOUR hands full! Journalist Kevork Almassian joins us on the show.

The US continues to fan the flames of nuclear conflict with massive investments in the war department. How long can this last?

110 sec till midnight.png

Will Our War-for-Profit System Lead to Nuclear Annihilation?

And so we ride the vortex down the drain. My hope is we don't have a temper tantrum and start throwing nukes around. If we can't rule the world then no one will, sort of stupidity. Being forewarned lets us prepare as best we can. Explore the resources in your local community. Build relationships while you can. We're in another cycle. Many before us have survived similar declines. As our sun sets in the West, it rises in the East and the hope for a better future lies with them and their "Fair world order", based on cooperation and mutual benefit.

Let's wrap with something fun, from the time (1952) when the US empire had some redeeming qualities.

Your report is so complete I have nothing of much value to add.

Irksome, but not important, is the coverage given to the mendacious "Climate" extravaganza the wealthy nations hold yearly. Business leaders fly in on their private jets. Same with political figures. It is all a demonstration, as if we needed one, that nothing will change.

Next week Bali and the G20.

The coverage resembles our Oscar press hoopla: Who will talk to whom? "sideline conversations" Not much of a step up from, What are they wearing?

Apparently The UK and USA are boycotting Lavrov's speech. Must be a huge disappointment that Putin has decided not to attend.

The silliness spreads:

"Britain and the EU have agreed to boycott the speeches of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the G20 summit and will urge other countries to do the same."

"This was reported by the British edition of The Telegraph, citing sources in London and Brussels."

Hope you aren't trying any more of those ladder tricks and the aches from the last
episode are subsiding some. Takes longer to heal as we become burdened with age.

Interesting how some of the EU states are beginning to make noises about US
policies hindering their economies. Guess they are a bit slow on the uptake. Even
more grumbling about the Ukie black hole. Now, if enough states can convince
the EU brass to cease warmaking, there may be more funds for their citizens.
That goes 10x here.

As to the world, the shift in the balance of power (last weeks focus) seems the big story. All TPTB have left is to demonize the rising (multipolar) countries. The rest of the world sees us for what we are and so are uniting with the BRICS+....can't blame them.

What is bad though is the way the global gamblers are pulling their evil stunts to
popularize poverty. Dalio's graph shows us somewhere on the decline between
debt and political restructuring. Which is near the bottom rung. Falling from that
height may not bruise us as much, but about that political restructure. It Is being

Lookout and 99crew. These are interesting times no doubt. Every day a new batch of BS is promulgated by the corporate media and their puppet masters. What you wrote above about the 'event' next week with some old discredited heads-of-state, is funny;

The goal of the presentation will reportedly be to address the completely fictional and imaginary concern that congressional Republicans won’t continue supporting US proxy war efforts in Ukraine.

So much garbage, fiction, and fairy tales, from these people and so little time. Don't they know we have a climate crisis on our hands. The last thing we need is war. The last thing we need to do is to cause the destruction of ordinary people's lives. Don't they know we have an economic crisis on our hands as well...how can we pay to rebuild. What about the humanitarian crisis they are creating. Don't they care about people. /s

We have a humanitarian crisis in the U.S. as well, with more people unable to afford to pay for a home, for healthcare, for food, and other basics. I would bet there are more people in the U.S. concerned about paying for these basics that there are people concerned about paying for that battle overseas.

As you said, we are;

FtPayne1889 031.jpeg
[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGdwxPPdBfE]
It was written by Carson Robison in 1927. It tells the story of a brave engineer who takes his train out on a stormy night after kissing his sweetheart goodbye, promising to marry her the next day, but he is killed in a head-on collision with another train. Unlike some other songs in the "train wreck" subgenre, it is not based on a real incident, and it does have a known author.

Hi all, Hey LO! Hope it's all good out there. Great roundup of the slow-motion train wreck as always LO!

A little chilly here, 33F was our low, coldest since March some time. I saw fog on a bathroom mirror! The first Robin just showed up here the last couple days, we had a dozen at the birdbath yesterday. Got a call and email pic this morn, some folks in town had an American Woodcock at their biz yard on Main St. in town (megalopolis of 200)! You should get those there, find a wet low damp spot in the woods and check it. You almost have to step on them to see them, their wings whistle like a Mourning Dove when they take flight. But if you see them walking on the forest floor you may get a belly ache from laughing, and understand why they called them Timberdoodle.

Thanks for the WW LO!
