Random Recollections of 2021, the Blackjack Year

Open Thread Image.jpg

Blackjack is a casino banking game, the most widely played casino banking game in the world, it uses decks of 52 cards and descends from a global family of casino banking games known as Twenty-One.

Can't ignore the elephant in the room so I'll double up my columns again today.

TheDosesideways.jpg

Speaking of casino banking games...
One thing for sure this year, the Fed created trillions of USD for oligarchs and corporations to buy their own stock driving the market to ever new highs as the US economy is in free fall and expanding the already obscene inequality gap to new highs as well.

buybacks_0.png

A buyback is when executives direct their company to purchase shares of their own stock to drive up share prices. This reduces the number of shares, raising the price and putting cash in the hands of shareholders, including the company’s own executives because they get paid mostly in stock. S&P 500 firms hit a record in the third quarter of this year, spending $225 billion to repurchase their own stock.
...Share buybacks are associated with layoffs and depressed wages. After two Boeing Max 737 planes crashed within five months of each other in 2019, it was revealed that Boeing had recently authorized a massive $20 billion in stock buybacks at the expense of testing and safety investments. Companies are even borrowing money to pay for their buybacks.

Max and Stacy's guest in the clip below explains that in order to manufacture computer chips in the US, the chip manufacturer wants a grant (our tax dollars) to build a plant in the US, despite their own stock buy back for a similar price as their grant request. You can't make up.

There's talk of taxing their profits, but I bet it is unlikely given that our politicians have been purchased by the very ones who should be taxed.

wealth tax.png

Many people are under the mistaken notion that the Federal Reserve is a government agency...wrong, it is a coalition of central banks.

A plan for a central banking system to be owned by the banks themselves, a system which would organize the nation's banks into a private cartel that would have sole control over the money supply itself.

Now who do you really think they serve?
This has been going on for a century or so, but under cover of the COVID pandemic it has been on steroids for the last two years.

capitol riot.jpg

I can't blame anyone who thinks our elections are rigged. We've watch Bernie cheated of the nomination twice. Saw Gore win and lose the election because brother Bushy was governor of Florida. Kerry probably lost because if rigging in Ohio. I don't trust our elections.

Then there's non-stop "Russia hacked our elections"...a blatant lie and misdirection (clearly debunked this year). And then these same russiagaters blame the Trumpeteers for thinking the election was stolen by Brandon Joementia (or is it Jomentia Brandon)?

So, a year ago we had the capitol riots, as people thought the election was stolen. In fairness, Trump was drawing huge crowds and Jomentia was hiding in his basement (reminiscent of the $hill and Bernie in 2016).

Now the corpradims are prosecuting these mostly working class folks that stormed the capitol in outrage the election was stolen. However, for me, the whole episode doesn't pass a smell test. Only six months before at the BLM protest in DC the city was packed with military and police presence.

BLM police responce.png

Then last January, the few police present opened the capitol up for the protesters? This seems as phony as Epstein's faked suicide. The fact that the police were barely called to explain (and in fact the Capitol police budget was increased) yet it is the protesters being prosecuted, continues to suggest an inside job to me.

On Jan 6, 2021...
https://bandclubculture.com/2021/12/17/where-were-the-u-s-capitol-police...

Some United States Capitol Police (USCP) officers were teleworking, some riot gear was locked in a bus or shattered upon impact after being improperly stored, and only a couple hundred of the 1,879 sworn officers were inside the Capitol Building, despite intelligence showing the protests might get heated on January 6th, 2021.

Even with a $464 million-a-year budget and nearly 2,000 officers, the USCP was unable to stop a breach of the Capitol by protestors who carried no guns. The USCPs budget is greater than many large metropolitan cities, including Detroit, Minneapolis, St. Louis, and Columbus, Ohio.

Today, Congress plans to give the USCP which has admitted to a lack of preparation, training, communication, and equipment, an additional ~$150 million, bringing its budget to over $600 million for fiscal year 2022.

YMMV, but I'm thinking this was purposeful.

global sars.jpg

But all news was subsumed by COVID. Critical thinking abilities were shattered by MSM COVID fear mongering...including some of mine. They rolled out the vaccines, and I got in line. Took the Moderna, one in March and the second in April. In retrospect I'm grateful we were not victims of the many adverse reactions...at least not yet, because long term effects remain unknown.

The vax gave us a sense of protection ...for ourselves and others. We felt safe enough to do a bit of local travel... to play music and visit buddies last spring, vacation in Georgia early summer, and Florida in the fall. So, all worked out well, but I feel misled...about vaccine safety, efficacy (especially with delta and omicron), and the real disease data. The US PCR test delivers way too many false positives. The flu will trigger the COVID test. Deaths have been inflated by counting anyone WITH COVID as death by COVID. They've been trying to scare us so they can control us. I can't help that being my big take away for the year.

Don't believe the "Merry Crisis and Happy New Fear" narrative TPTB are trying to pedal.

Jimmy and RFK have a good discussion about what has transpired. I saw the 45 minute version on YouTube but..
in case Youtube takes it down, here's a longer version on Rumble 1+ hour)

From my perspective, under the cover of COVID, TPTB seek to control us by:
owning the MSM narrative and canceling/silencing anyone who doesn't sing their chorus,
closing down small business and promoting the large chains,
maximizing the already obscene surveillance state to insure compliance,
requiring leaky vaccines which don't completely prevent disease nor spread by mandate,
Requiring vaccination passports in many countries and some parts of the US.
...all while promoting obscene profits for big pharma,
endless wars and aggression,
sanctions on steroids (basically siege warfare),
accelerating environmental damage/extraction and profiteering (while claiming to combat the climate chaos).
{As an aside I liked the new netflix pic...don't look up (2 min trailer)

Two astronomers go on a media tour to warn humankind of a planet-killing comet hurtling toward Earth. The response from a distracted world: Meh.}
Not GREAT, but pretty good allegory for climate chaos and COVID and at least addresses the trivial approach of media and its ability to mislead and manipulate.

free-assange11-1024x576.jpg

The extradition of Assange is a dangerous precedent. Therefore we demand from the UK and US governments:
Don’t extradite!
Drop all charges!
#FreeAssange!

For 10 years now the USA has been chasing journalist and Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. In doing so, they are not shy in violating the rule of law and human rights.

The determination is clear. Every journalist should be discouraged from reporting facts that may not be convenient for the USA. That is why the trial... is not only about the extradition of Julian Assange. Our free press, and therefore also our democracy, are in serious dangers, if the USA is not put in its place.

The cancel culture has been enhanced by COVID, but nowhere is it more evident than the case of Julian Assange. It seems like fiction to literally torture a journalist for revealing US war crimes, but it is real and should be the story of the year. What do you hear on MSM?...crickets. Amy at least featured a discussion about Julian this week, Video or text.

NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists Glenn Greenwald and Chris Hedges discuss mass surveillance, government secrecy, internet freedom and U.S. attempts to extradite and prosecute WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

But the real coverage has been on consortiumnews.

The imprisoned publisher must first ask the High Court that his appeal to the Supreme Court be approved as a point of law of general public importance.

Chris has been covering Julian as well.
He discusses the torture of Julian Assange with his father, John Shipton.

Julian Assange committed empire’s greatest sin. He exposed it as a criminal enterprise. He documented its lies, callous disregard for human life, rampant corruption and innumerable war crimes. Republican or Democrat. Conservative or Labour. Trump or Biden. It does not matter. The goons who oversee the empire sing from the same Satanic songbook. Empires always kill those who inflict deep and serious wounds.

That Assange, who is in precarious physical and psychological health and who suffered a stroke during court video proceedings on October 27, has been condemned to death should not come as a surprise. The ten years he has been detained, seven in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London and nearly three in the high security Belmarsh prison, were accompanied with a lack of sunlight and exercise and unrelenting threats, pressure, anxiety and stress. “His eyes were out of sync, his right eyelid would not close, his memory was blurry,” his fiancé Stella Moris said of the stroke.

His steady physical and psychological deterioration has led to hallucinations and depression. He takes antidepressant medication and the antipsychotic quetiapine. He has been observed pacing his cell until he collapses, punching himself in the face and banging his head against the wall. He has spent weeks in the medical wing of Belmarsh. Prison authorities found “half of a razor blade” hidden under his socks. He has repeatedly called the suicide hotline run by the Samaritans because he thought about killing himself “hundreds of times a day.” The executioners have not yet completed their grim work. Toussaint L’Ouverture, who led the Haitian independence movement, the only successful slave revolt in human history, was physically destroyed in the same manner, locked by the French in an unheated and cramped prison cell and left to die of exhaustion, malnutrition, apoplexy, pneumonia and probably tuberculosis. And, unless we mobilize to halt this judicial execution, it will be Assange’s fate as well.

Chris Hedges discusses the British High Court ruling to allow the extradition of Julian Assange to go ahead with Joe Lauria, editor-in-chief, Consortium News.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VzFJ9csons
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLYwmWraxHA
Chris Hedges discusses The Trial of Julian Assange, a new book by Nils Melzer, UN Special Rapporteur on Torture. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTVnv5NWkKU
Chris Hedges talks to documentary filmmaker and investigative journalist John Pilger about the upcoming appeals hearing in London for the Julian Assange case.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDI8Ro4Ba5c

But in general this US attack on journalism remains unreported.

War fleet.jpg

And we haven't even talked about US warmongering. A story not just this year, but it seems every year I can recall. So here at the end of this year the US is aggressively pushing China and Russia to war. All I can imagine is that the greed has become such a sickness that planetary destruction is acceptable if the MIC (et al) garners enough profit. Here again, just like for the drug companies, our captured media system has many if not most citizens we believing we need to defend Taiwan and Ukraine just like there were WMD in Iraq...it's déjà vu all over again.

Your guess is as good as mine how this provocation of both China and Russia will play out. Other than his accusation that China was promoting the aggression I found Max and Stacy's guest insightful. Max and Stacy chat to Dan Collins, an entrepreneur and former auto executive who lived in China for 20 years. (25 min)

He clearly explains, the US is a warehouse state, China is the world's manufacturing center. My thought is China became the dominant nation in the world after the Alaska meeting with bleeping Blinking

2022 — Year of Major Power Conflict Over Ukraine

Russia says Europe must think about the real prospect of turning their continent into a field of military confrontation like that which existed at the height of the Cold War, writes Scott Ritter.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday said he wanted "concrete agreements" from NATO that it would not expand eastwards, as tensions rise over Russian troops near the Ukrainian border. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crYKdV2yc-Q (3 min)

I thought this was the season of peace... where is the peace movement?

Narrated by Robbie Robertson and Sir David Attenborough.

All I can say is bring on the peace. It is the message for 2022!

So of course there were many other stories this year. There was Gabby and Brian's nonstop news porn, and the Rittenhouse trial and much more. I hope you'll include stories I missed in the comments below.
James Corbett focuses on "the great reset" as the story the year.
Krystal had an interesting take on media's biggest lies of the year and they conclude their show with the question, Will 2022 Be Better For YOU?

I want to leave you with a message from Roger Waters...
A revolutionary and powerful speech from iconic figures: Roger Waters, John Lennon, Edward Snowden, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, and Jim Morrison on power, social change and challenging authority.
“In an authoritarian state, rights derive from the state and are granted to the people. In a free state, rights derive from the people and are granted to the state.”
― Edward Snowden, Permanent Record

My thought is we need to make sure 2022 is better. Stand up against the authoritarianism, practice random acts of kindness, minimize your footprint and place yourself in nature as much as possible, speak out against US aggression, be the person you want to be... free to choose your path. Happy New Year, y'all!

Thanks for the weekly round up, including the yearly round up !

My spin would be something like 2021 was the year of the big lie.

The info meisters have tuned up their propaganda machines and

seem to be in synch the world over. Free, rational thought has lost

its relevance in the social discourse. I'm all for a peaceful resolution

in 2022. Let's help each other realize it. Just say know Wink

Hope you had a nice Christmas. We enjoyed seeing family, but were glad to get back home before dark. It is foggy this morning and the sun rise through it made for a yellow glow across the valley. There is still beauty to enjoy.

for the weekly watch and year's round-up.

In my life I've run the gamut from mildly to bat-shit insane and early on developed a liking for the surreal, nonsense, absurd theater, dada and suchwhat, as well as a certain detached uncertainty as to what was what and what was real versus crazy and why. Needless to say, this past year was oft-times profoundly amusing once one got past the angst and agony, fear, loathing and horror. The phrase "banality of evil" kept bubbling to the surface of my herenow.

In a mere 6 days the cycloidal continuum will pass into what we will call 2022, but frankly, I don't expect zip shit to change except the arbitrary fictive calendar we use. Nonetheless, happy day after y feliz mañana.

If I have it right, three people died. Yet it's called a deadly attack on Washington. Watching the people walk quietly within the rope lines was a sure giveaway that they weren't there for mayhem.

In the 1980s and 1990s we designed and built greenfield (from bare ground) Intel chip plants for$500M. Outfitted and opened them for another $500M. In nineteen months.

Now Intel wants $100B? For locations in Arizona which already have plants (fabs) on them? The mind reels.

Gotta say that I wholeheartedly agree with all of it. That people are once again believing the war hype for Ukraine and Taiwan is just so damn mind boggling it’s hard to believe. But after 5 years of Russia is bad bad bad and the belief that those bad bad Russians stole the election from the rightful heir to Obama to continue the screwing us that her husband gave us I’m just so disappointed at those who think Obama was the greatest president of their lifetime and thought that HerHeinous would be just as good. Obama’s legacy is that Trump followed his sellout presidency. I’m my opinion he was directly responsible for Trump beating Her.

Too bad we never got that peace dividend because Clinton decided that we should stay on the path of transferring money to the military. Now we’re watching the physical and economic collapse of America right before our eyes while congress continues to betray us and getting as f’cking rich as they can from insider trading that Pelushi thinks is just okay to do.

A day late, but it’s a white day after Xmas with blowing wind and snow with white out conditions. Yay for the water!

Like I said yesterday a green Xmas is so much different than years back when we had to risk life and limb to get to grandma’s house. But we so need the water to fill up the reservoirs that pretty much disappeared this year. Better news is that California is getting pounded with snow too. Might be the best year on record for them. Lots of people had to plow their fields under cuz they got no water. How do they recover from that?

Pets bring so much joy to people’s lives and the research proves it. I start each day with a laugh when Sam helps me with my socks. Lately she has been pilfering one in the wee hours and is so proud of herself for doing it. 3 am and she jumps on me to tell me of her theft. Then she goes to sleep whilst I’m wide awake. Stinker!

First imagine being a CEO of a company and your salary is based on the stock price which is totally manipulated by buybacks gifted to you in the form of not having to pay taxes, being allowed to sell debt/bonds in order to further buying your stock, etc.etc.

As for the biggest scam being inflicted upon us is the right of the government to lie to the people, state propaganda in full force. State Media always projects the tale of how bad China/Russia/Trump/Venezuela/Cuba are and then verifies those lies with POLLS that are purely made up.

Given the fact that State Media is allowed to lie to the people we get a president who in all likelihood isn't sure he is even president. How does Joementia win an election while hidden in a basement?

last April - I now have Broca's aphasia. My mouth and tongue muscles are difficult to control and I find it difficult to 'find' my words. When I speak, I have to do it slowly and deliberately to figure out how to form each word. It sounds like I am drunk or a 'special' needs person due to my speech slurring. I have a card that explains it if I should get stopped by a cop or have to speak to a bank teller or such. They have to give me time to get my words out.

It hasn't affected my reasoning except words are hard to 'find'. It's like that tip-of-the-tongue experience. I have come a long way since then but by the end of the day I get extremely tired and my speech gets more and more difficult.

A new book on the 2012 presidential campaign claims that President Barack Obama told aides that he is "really good at killing people."

According to Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, the authors of Double Down: Game Change 2012, Obama made the comment while discussing drone strikes last year.
...
In a May speech at the National Defense University, Obama defended the use of drones.

"Let us remember that the terrorists we are after target civilians, and the death toll from their acts of terrorism against Muslims dwarfs any estimate of civilian casualties from drone strikes," Obama said.

there comes a time when as a mature adult, one can, and must, choose

You fail to recognize that it matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be!

It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.

Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right.

Obama made his choice, all right.

the true Hawaiian Aloha spirit, just because I happen to have a son, who had run away to Hawaii, after having been fed up with my family, his family and his experiences during his military service in the Iraq war and in Korea.

Nothing could be further from the truth. I know nothing and often wonder what it exactly is supposed to mean, when someone talks about the 'Aloha' spirit.

To be frank, I have the feeling there are lots of shitty rich folks (not the genuine, native Hawaiians though) in Hawaii.

So please forgive me and understand that I don't know anyhing about Hawaiian culture other than what one can see and hear on promotional propaganda videos selling the Aloha spirit.

I have been just three times in HI, including Big Island and Oahu during the whole 15 years my son now has been living in Hawaii.

Hawaii has the most insane real estate and rental prices. So, my son has to pay for his little 2 room apartment with integrated kitchen 1450 dollars rent. When he could share this rent with his girl friend it was somewhat bearable, now being alone in it, it is fubar capitaliistc bullshit. (as it is in other US cities) He says he is lucky to have it, because all he could find now, would be 2000 dollars or more.

So, what kind of bullshit is that? Maui has beautiful nature, that gets more and more destroyed, but that's about it.

He has made his choices with regard to choosing Hawaii as his homestead, but it doesn't mean that I understand anything about Hawaii and the Aloha spirit myself. As always what I like and love is the music and the nature, the same is true for my son. Everything else is just an offensive insult to average human brain and with an average income

Sorry to be that in your face offensive. But it had to be said.

...but have musical buddies who visit on the regular. And my Mom lived there awhile in her childhood.

I liked Twain's take...

“No alien land in all the world has any deep strong charm for me but that one, no other land could so longingly and so beseechingly haunt me, sleeping and waking, through half a lifetime, as that one has done. Other things leave me, but it abides; other things change, but it remains the same. For me the balmy airs are always blowing, its summer seas flashing in the sun; the pulsing of its surfbeat is in my ear; I can see its garlanded crags, its leaping cascades, its plumy palms drowsing by the shore, its remote summits floating like islands above the cloud wrack; I can feel the spirit of its wild land solitudes, I can hear the splash of its brooks; in my nostrils still lives the breath of flowers that perished twenty years ago.”

You are not wrong! I sometimes compare East Germans’ experience of the Treuhand period after der Wende to the great sellout that also occurred in Hawai‘i following statehood. Everything that wasn’t nailed down was bought up by big-money capitalists from far away. The only people who got rich were carpetbagging Wessi (≈ North American “mainland”) speculators, real-estate brokers and developers, plus a few well-connected Ossi ex-communists who nabbed the best properties and got in on the ground floor.

“♫ They paved paradise and put up a parking lot…” The dystopian chorus in Joni Mitchell’s song Big Yellow Taxi is said to have been inspired by her experience in Hawai‘i. The “pink hotel” is the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, which ironically is what passes for a historic landmark in the Waikīkī Beach district.

It shows that I was 'sleeping in Seattle in DC, when all of it happened.

I remember watching 'die Wende' on a sofa in our first DC home and couldn't understand a thing. 'Ossie' and 'Wessi' bullshit was incomprehensible for me. Again thanks.

Reflecting on the past is the vision for the pathway to the future.

I caught this apprehensive analysis...which I sadly find accurate.
NATO, Western allies can no longer be trusted (12 min)

Tensions continue to mount between Russia and NATO over Ukraine. Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov gave an exclusive interview to RT, saying the underlying reasons for the tensions is that NATO and the West in general can no longer be trusted. Former Pentagon official and former UK MP George Galloway join In Question to share their perspectives.

On a more hopeful note, I recommend everyone check out the last clip, it is 20 well spent minutes IMO.

Aphasia may be helped by "PCA" its the stuff that gives dried out beer its characteristic smell and stickiness. It seems likely to be helpful in aphasia.

Its used as a skin moisturizer but its quite good for the brain.

Am now binge-reading a very good book by North Korean Defector Hyeonseo Lee. Its one of the most gripping books I have read in a while. Its entitled "The Girl WIth Seven Names".

I have been reading these stories for more than twenty years, Since around 1998.

Since the "famine", yes. The arduous March. Which I heard about from a Chinese mathematician I worked with, he had grown up within earshot of the DPRK border. He could hear the guards shooting at people trying to cross the river. He said the situation nwas heartbreaking, the North Koreans were doing so badly. They were emaciated. The truth was that Kim Jong IL had banished a third of the country to the Northeast and he was trying to starve those millions of people to death. He succeeded. Nobody stopped him. He also killed his own father, Kim Il Sung. Patricide.

Really. After his death then the real Kim Jong Il emerged.

That is an example of what bad government is really like.

I must have read hundreds of these heartbreaking defector stories. Sometimes it seems like thousands. Thankfully, This one has a happy ending, I am finding out now, but they are often so full of tragedy.

It kind of puts things in perspective. I think Americans could benefit a lot from knowing more about the situation in DPRK endured by these long-suffering people.

The author is a very intelligent lady who writes a very good book. Its a best seller, apparently. AND its very good.

I also recently read "Born a Crime" by comedian Trevor Noah, and found it to be really good. He is really a breath of fresh air on TV these days..

The sock puppets were obviously out in force. Also I ran into an ad industry friend and he basically said as much. The figure he cited as being spent was astronomical. MUCH higher by two orders of magnitude than what the Democratic sellout blogs were claiming. OUR OWN TAX MONEY IS BEING SPENT TO DECEIVE OUR OWN COUNTRY INTO the MOST QUESTIONABLE GOALS THAT DESTROY OUR COUNTRY"S ECONOMY AND FUTURE Selling our future away to feather the nests of the most evil transnational oligarchy. With oour nations dreams and tears. Its truly insanely horrible and evil what they are doing. Nobody in our country would agree with it if they knew, people would go nuts. and its (the neoliberal cult, shares none of the values of the people of the US, its a collossal con game.. A scheme to literally steal the world and all of our rights that have not been written out. If you want to know what they are stealing, THAT. Your futures.

They fullly plan to shaft Amnerica completely, to dump the blame in the laps of all poor people who came here to escape all this crap they are going to be blamed for. It is a masterful con, however, perhaps the biggest ever. I wouldn't be surprised if it starts world war three. Its going to leave all Americans hating one another and we would be wise to dump the whole thing. But they wont, because the crooks behind it have really latched into this country and created massive debts in all of our names, that its going to cost our entire country's futures to pay off. Its really an epidemic of evil to take everything that can be taken. THATS THEIR WAY, the way of the oligarchs. The oligarchs are crooks, thats the essence of what they do At that point the last couple of years will likely all make sense to people but by then it will be too late. The deeds will be done.

I hope that all the spooks who are enabling them grok that. Have they scared you enough yet?

These trade deals are not good in any way, they are the devil.

Are we heading towards totalitarianism? Yes, as shown by the rapid and shameful attack on freedom of speech and particularly what they are trying to hide. Its not a joke that we are trying to take over the world with democracy cancelling "non agreements"

That nobody would ever vote for. Its truly a nightmare what they want to do and why? Guess they are tired of the unpredictability. They want to give corporations absolute certainty.

Hi all, Hey Lookout! Hope all are well! Great roundup of our various crisises (not sure on proper plural of that). I love the Playing for Change vids, everything they do. Pure awesomeness always. This one was 5-stars. I love that talking drum. Micky Hart, Taj, and a bunch of amazing incredible musicians. Slash hit his four bars outta the park. Maybe next year they will reach out to me. I have done all I can do. I miss them. They were daily life contacts.
I think people might be realizing the China/Russia "conflict" is not worth it.

Goodall's new book about Hope.

**THE INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER**

In a world that seems so troubled, how do we hold on to hope?

Looking at the headlines―the worsening climate crisis, a global pandemic, loss of biodiversity, political upheaval―it can be hard to feel optimistic. And yet hope has never been more desperately needed.

In this urgent book, Jane Goodall, the world's most famous living naturalist, and Douglas Abrams, the internationally bestselling co-author of The Book of Joy, explore through intimate and thought-provoking dialogue one of the most sought after and least understood elements of human nature: hope. In The Book of Hope, Jane focuses on her "Four Reasons for Hope": The Amazing Human Intellect, The Resilience of Nature, The Power of Young People, and The Indomitable Human Spirit.

Drawing on decades of work that has helped expand our understanding of what it means to be human and what we all need to do to help build a better world, The Book of Hope touches on vital questions, including: How do we stay hopeful when everything seems hopeless? How do we cultivate hope in our children? What is the relationship between hope and action? Filled with moving and inspirational stories and photographs from Jane’s remarkable career, The Book of Hope is a deeply personal conversation with one of the most beloved figures in the world today.

While discussing the experiences that shaped her discoveries and beliefs, Jane tells the story of how she became a messenger of hope, from living through World War II to her years in Gombe to realizing she had to leave the forest to travel the world in her role as an advocate for environmental justice. And for the first time, she shares her profound revelations about her next, and perhaps final, adventure.

There is still hope, and this book will help guide us to it.

Sounds a bit over optimistic, but Hope can keep you going. I'm more into acceptance these days to be honest, but I still dream and have projects to inspire.

Hope y'all are having a great trip...Merry merry!
