We have a Platform Committee progressive majority issue wise.
Except for the lobbyists, the Platform Committee is looking very good (unlike the presumptive nominee). I found at least three of the DNC appointed committee to be excellent choices. Surprised to say so actually since I think it was 1972 the last time I had anything positive to say about them.
Paul Booth’s (the one labor representative on the committee) article last week is interesting. I can’t find anything to complain about in his ideology. In fact, the cover of the article is a giant Bernie rally. LOL. See his article: You Say You Want a Revolution. To achieve real change, progressives must mobilize beyond one election cycle. Congresswoman Barbara Lee has long been one of my heroes in foreign policy. I certainly like her presence on the committee.
Congressman Luis Guitierrez is ff Puerto Rican descent, he is a supporter of Puerto Rican independence, and the Vieques movement.
And today Rep. Keith Ellison, who is another one of the few congressmen I support is in the headlines: Rep. Keith Ellison draws attention to Israeli apartheid in tweet on Palestinian life under occupation. Bernie put Ellison on the committee/
Hooray, two pro-Palestine advocates on the platform committee. The only Latino is a Puerto Rico independista! So, I think we have a 8 to 7 progressive majority in the Platform Committee. To me, its good news. Although I would a feel heck of a lot better if Barbara Lee was the "presumptive" nominee since I can't stomach Clinton.
Note: The lobbyists suck. And I don't get the dissidence between "forgainst" flippy/floppy neocon and at least these four appointees. Maybe an estadounidense could speculate.
