On December l. 1995, by joining th WTO 1995 the US agreed to globalize and privatize most government subsidized "services" Including all financial services, if they compete with banks. We also agreed to privatize and quite possibly globalize Social Security if it can be substituted for any commercial service like loans, Since many jobs are going global the government does not want the responsibility. Its much more than just whats described here. Their intent is also to break unions and globalize doctors and patients, pushing wages here to be more comparable to wages in the highly profitable LDCs (the one or two dollar a day countries) .
Africa is the future of work. Look at the demographics.
This is much more - Their intention is to lower the cost of healthcare and wages/workers by globalizing healthcare and services of all kind, lowering standards, cutting environmental rules and safety regs, and churn everything, by inserting more layers of middlemen from all over the world. Its a one way stret, once deregulated nothing - especially financial services, can be re-regulated. Really. They misled the entire country on this.
We were deceived by them failing to tell us democracy was basically eliminated by these WTO commitments. They want us to vote for them thinking things are the same as they were up until Jan 1, 1995. Things are not. This was all represented as legitimate but it wasnt to trade all our rights and all the new Deal programs away. Itsnot, many feel this was illegitimate.
We have to go to Geneva and fight for the restoral of Democracy. That means the country must rise up against this theft/scam to restore the democracy we fought for in 1776.
The British government wrote GATS Article 1:3 which puts a dark cloud over their NHS, beginning the beginning of next year, unless they complete the ARticle 21 procedure and withdraw their financial services from GATS, and compensate corporations for their lost property, by paying them their lost expected profits. What has been done is the turning of policy into property.
As shown by how their firms behaved with us, and even the regulations added in the so called Affordable Care Act are deemed to still be changes, and were not already "existing" on February 26, 1998, so are forbidden. This means that the labor supplying nations, nations like India will probably challenge the ACA's changes which made providing health insurance to the sick much more expensive. And less profitable. Look at the cafeteria style insurance they sello in India, for examle, people can and do buy coronavirus insurance, which is more affordable and if you have a psitive coronavirus test it pays for your treatment. This is the new world order that our government is promoting. Since Obamacare was dated 2010 and the limit on such exception is I think ten years (not a lawyer and I dont think anybody knows for sure if it is an article II exception, do you?) Its possible they may intend to pursue another WTO case against us.(there already is one that hasnt been decided on visas and whether quotas on the number and wages of temping jobs is WTO legal)
This takes away the democracy, that allows people to vote for policy and actually have it implemented instead everything must be the minimal possible and the least burdensome to corporations. In healthcare that means globalization, despite the reservation which politicians claim protects us from outsourcing patients. A WTO employee, says we already agreed to it, however by committing the sectors we did, so their assertion patients cant be globalized is likely wrong. They are doing all this under the radar because the policy must be whetever is the MOST PROFITABLE and nothing else. This is what the agreement joined by the US in 1995 says. Voting does not change this unless we leave GATS committments via Article XXI. Politicians no longer have the power. They divested themselves of it. Like Ulysses tying himself to the mast.
The WTO is open to the public one day a year, one has to take a tour that is booked up months in advance. This tour occurs while the WTO is on their month long vacation each summer.l So yes, its been taken out of peoples hands. Our democracy has been stolen. They are doing their best to steal our nation for corporations.
Direct Contracting is intended to make it easier to globalize the provision of medicine. "import doctors. export patients" under the General Agreement on Trade In services.
This is a global theft. As you can see in the video, these changes have been in the pipeline since 1994. The only thing that can restore our democracy is for us to leave the GATS agreement via the Article 21 procedure. Nothing else will save it. Because its been traded away in 1994.

Sorry to see no discussion, but please keep posting these sorts of articles. The threat of this sort of creeping supra-nationalized control (by opaque, unaccountable entities) of things that ought to be transparent and the prerogative of nations, localities or individuals to determine is, for the most part, way under the radar of most people - even those like myself and many here who are making some attempt to Pay Attention.
Somehow, in the US anyway, things like the WTO, TPP, Agenda 21 & etc. seem to have mostly lost the attention of progressives and the longstanding warnings of people like Alex Jones about them mostly dismissed as raving paranoid lunacy (even as they continue to be borne out in reality).
Which probably suits the PTB just fine - in fact they have probably been working to ensure just such a mind-set on the part of the sheeple.
We're really screwed unless some sense of civic values and critical thinking skills can be re-instilled in at least a solid minority of the population - not easy when social engineering has for decades been working to undermine them.
I am happy to stand up for democracy. Truth matters and so does

By taking away the right to regulate "services" which is 80% of the entire economy.President Bill Clinton was giving a huge gift to the wealthiest citizens of the world's lowest incoe countries, as long as their incomes (in the LDCS ) stay the lowest. Isnt he so generous? They are taking the 21st century tech jobs that Americans dont want to do and dont have the education to do and giving them away to the people who will be excited to make an average of just $2/day doing them.
