It is Mark, kneeling beside the 7-Eleven, feeling around on the sidewalk for the debit card he keeps losing. One of the day laborers waiting in the parking lot next door thinks that we must be from the county and comes over to offer his own assessment: “Are you doing an evaluation? He decided to be this way. He decided.” A lot of us tell ourselves that as we walk on by, annoyed and alarmed, not without reason, that the number of people yelling f-bombs into traffic as they push their carts around and around just keeps growing.

A sad and a not unique situation in todays America.
There is obviously a simple solution according to our leadership. That is to send more money and weapons to Ukraine to maintain our wonderful democracy.

I think it’s a kopout and just a way for people not to have any compassion for people who are house challenged. I doubt people who have mental illnesses or a addicted to drugs went to live on the streets willingly and now do it because the rules for homelessness buildings are too strict and they kick people out too early in the day. Maybe not all do but many do. And some are not safe for the vulnerable.
Denmark? just gives people apartments with no strings attached and most people have returned to the work force. Children do not make a voluntary decision to live on the streets either nor do their parents. Medical bankruptcy and loss of job.
Congress gave billions to billionaires who own lots of rental agencies and made people who needed help with their rents jump through ridiculous hoops. And once again democrats are letting millions be evicted whilst sending billions to Ukraine for more killingry. That’s what Buckminster Fuller calls in the book I’m reading as opposed to livingry.
Also those billionaires flush with cash shoveled out by congress are going to spend $50 billion buying up homes. Again. Thanks Obiden!

thats funny, the population of homeless residents has grown and grown. after a couple of decades of watching, I have to admit, they are survivors, not nearly as close to death's door as I assumed.
I realize that "overpopulation" is a popular catch all, but it is bullshit. not that lunatic greed wouldnt feel the same and be happy to watch undesirables die off in droves, but this is not that.
