Need proof that Trump really does love the ignorant? Check out his claim that Hillary wants to eliminate the 2nd Amendment:

Mr. Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, said that the November election would be a referendum on the Second Amendment and asserted that Mrs. Clinton, his likely Democratic opponent, wanted to abolish the right to bear arms.

“Crooked Hillary Clinton is the most anti-gun, anti-Second Amendment candidate ever to run for office,” he said.

Mr. Trump also unveiled a new moniker for Mrs. Clinton — “Heartless Hillary” — and said that her policies on guns and criminal justice would make women less safe. “Hillary wants to disarm vulnerable Americans in high-crime neighborhoods,” Mr. Trump said.

In the first place, no single individual has the authority to alter the Constitution in any way. The process by which changes can be made are clearly outlined within the Constitution, and requires that 2/3 of the states agree and ratify the changes. There is ZERO chance that this can happen, even for Her High-And-Mightiness. There is no chance that the courts will go there. It's been tried many times.

But that doesn't stop The Donald from stirring up the rabble, who clearly don't know that the Constitution is ever so much more than merely the right for well-regulated (read: self-appointed) militias to bear arms.

I am not one to advocate the complete elimination of firearms when the government is clearly interested in having its way regardless of the law. But when does your little Glock 9mm defend you against the militarized police when they come for you? If for some strange reason you prove to be enough of a nuisance with your pop-gun that they have to call in heavier force, what are you going to do when that Hellfire knocks on your door and asks for you?

The brainless NRA defense of universal freedom for gun owners has caused the police to become more militarized, and faster to shoot to kill. You don't even need to be armed anymore to risk being subjected to summary police justice. San Francisco's Police Chief just resigned because the people there are fed up with summary police justice, the latest victim of which was an unarmed black woman.

And yet, will the NRA dare to defend this asshole, who couldn't discipline a 3-year-old without several witnesses saying he deliberately aimed and shot him in the head?

When the NRA relents enough to keep firearms out of the hands of those who clearly shouldn't have them, I might let them off the hook. But until then, they are as much my enemy as militarized police are. And Drumpf can STFU.
