Oregon is cooler, moister this week and the smoke is not as bad. Local fires are being directed to areas to burn out and prevent damage to human structures.
This is a Canadian site showing smoke patterns in the northern states and Canada. Montana appears to be having the heaviest smoke concentrations.

Watched a news broadcast last night
of wind surfers in the south of Florida. I thought, what a bunch of morans!
Then I remembered living in NC when tropical storms would roil the surf, I'd take my boogey board and fight the waves for 15-20 minutes to get a 10 second ride.

I'm the worst about reading over mistakes
I think I read too fast to be a good editor. That jumped out at me since I'm a Bolivar fan. It's kinda nice to be human...you know erring and all.

I write these in NoteTabPro, review them, paste them
into the c99 editor, preview and review, and invariably post with types and other errors. I think it's as simple as knowing what is supposed to be there and hence seeing it, whether it is there or not.

Yes. The are people camping out at Atlanta Motor Speedway
from Florida. They were offered camping facilities for free. When the path changed, they were worried, but it has continued to move west. I don't think the winds will be too dangerous. And as you say both areas are far inland so no surge.

If more is forthcoming, given the claimed limitations of the text, is anybody's guess.

Switzerland didn’t even join the U.N. until friggin’ 2002?
Now there’s a country whose people take their national sovereignty and neutrality seriously, and know how meaningless in practice the supposedly just and lofty goals of international treaties and charters are.
For the Swiss, it was probably too obvious all along that the U.N. just cements the victorious Allies of 1945 in place as the global Mafia dons (a.k.a. Security Council), with hardly a pot to piss in for everyone else (the General Assembly).
The U.N. is not great at enforcing its resolutions when the Western military superpower isn’t on board (Morocco out of West Sahara? Turkey out of northern Cyprus? And Palestine, oh, Palestine).
The UN is the classic example of the devil being in the
details. The ability of the security council to do damn near anything it wishes if it agrees unanimously to do so is but one example.
