Good morning el and all
Thanks for the OT and tunes. Gave you a hat tip over at the weekly watch this AM and directed folks here for music. You, Joe, and NC Tim are great about posting good music. Thanks!

Good morning, Lookout. Happy eve's day and thanks for
the boost. Here's an award winning album from Woody Shaw that I honestly don't remember at all - hope it's good.

Good morning
Merry Christmas Eve, everybody. Holiday eve?
I'm in, enhydra!
It's 7 degrees F right now here west of Denver. Supposed to be a high of 34 today and about the same tomorrow. Snow on the ground. I always worry when it is this cold. The car, pipes, power failure, etc. So, I am having a slight anxiety filled holiday.
Hope everyone is warm.
Welcome back and happy holiday. I hope nothing
breaks or malfunctions. It's in the low forties here, so toasty by comparison.

I keep forgetting to mention that your avatar has been
hanging in our living room for a great many years now, mounted up high to oversee what goes on here.

Temperatures rising (lol, but yes) before crappy Wx
Snow plus wind for Santa's ride. Windy tomorrow. Only 2-3" of new snow expected here. No snowplow bills so far this season.;-)
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
Good morning, Riverlover, thanks for dropping in. The lack
of snowplow bills must be some sort of plus at least. Have a great Xmas eve.

Tanks for the tunes EL
the frittata is in the oven for a holiday brunch. The mulled wine for a sweet liver punch. Good yule to ya!
And to you. We're passing on the mulled wine and going
straight to serious cabernet sauvignon thanks to the relative cold this week. We're also aiming for a moderately large lunch out after nice long walk and Friday's leftovers for dinner as a result. Have a good one.

and what Christmas season would be complete without....?
Ferlinghetti's "Christ Climbed Down"
Christ climbed down
from His bare Tree
this year
and ran away to where
there were no rootless Christmas trees
hung with candycanes and breakable stars
Christ climbed down
from His bare Tree
this year and ran away to where
there were no gilded Christmas trees
and no tinsel Christmas trees
and no tinfoil Christmas trees
and no pink plastic Christmas trees
and no gold Christmas trees
and no black Christmas trees
and no powderblue Christmas trees
hung with electric candles
and encircled by tin electric trains
and clever cornball relatives
Christ climbed down
from His bare Tree
this year
and ran away to where
no intrepid Bible salesmen
covered the territory
in two-tone cadillacs
and where no Sears Roebuck creches
complete with plastic babe in manger
arrived by parcel post
the babe by special delivery
and where no televised Wise Men
praised the Lord Calvert Whiskey
Christ climbed down
from His bare Tree
this year
and ran away to where
no fat handshaking stranger
in a red flannel suit
and a fake white beard
went around passing himself off
as some sort of North Pole saint
crossing the desert to Bethlehem
Pennsylvania
in a Volkswagen sled
drawn by rollicking Adirondack reindeer
with German names
and bearing sacks of Humble Gifts
from Saks Fifth Avenue
for everybody’s imagined Christ child
Christ climbed down
from His bare Tree
this year
and ran away to where
no Bing Crosby carollers
groaned of a tight Christmas
and where no Radio City angels
iceskated wingless
thru a winter wonderland
into a jinglebell heaven
daily at 8:30
with Midnight Mass matinees
Christ climbed down
from His bare Tree
this year
and softly stole away into
some anonymous Mary’s womb again
where in the darkest night
of everybody’s anonymous soul
He awaits again
an unimaginable
and impossibly
Immaculate Reconception
the very craziest of Second Comings
Thanks, Shah, that is a definite necessity. and seemingly
moreso now than when he wrote it. I haven't seen it in years and am really glad you posted it here to remind me.

My Christmas tamales just arrived!
Delivered, hot and fresh.
Texas might have a plethora of red neck turds in it, but thanks to all the different cultures here, we also have amazing food - at least around Houston.
Gonna use the verde salsa from Friday's pupusas. I already ate all the curtido that came with the pupusas, because I simply couldn't help myself. Salvadoran deliciousness!
Nom nom nom!
Enjoy, I envy you. I can remember the days when I actually made
my own Xmas tamales. Lotsa work, but great eats, and plenty left over to freeze for later. Have a happy and all like that.

That’s one helluva way to interpret the more powerful party’s obligations in a relationship bearing the word “trust.”
Ain't it though. Merry xmas.
