Status Quo versus Make France French Again. Macron v. LePen

Question: Who would like Loyd Blankfein to run the U.S. Government?

Answer: He already does. Three of his minions are in Trump's cabinet. Jared Kushner is cut from the same globalist cloth also.

The question in France is: Who would want the French Loyd Blankfein in charge? Far-fetched? No. Comes now Monsieur Macron to contest for the throne vacated by Hollande. His view of the future: more of the same, maybe with small tweaks. He is the proponent of Macron-nomics, what we here in the good ole US call neoliberalism. Macron is a millionaire who made millions in the French banking system, working some of the time for the Rothschilds. The EU good; the Fifth Republic not so good. Globalism is one of his strong suits (though probably not as expensive as one of Fillon's $13,000 suits). Macron, with great sensitivity to the French un-rich, which a steadily-growing segment of the economy, now boasting at least a 10% unemployment rate, Mr. Macron commented upon the recent spate of violence committed in la Patrié, "This is something that we will have to get used to." Alas, there is nothing Macron can envisage no wrong about the "jungles", immigrant violence, or increasing French poverty. Certainemént, he has not voiced any plans in public about what to do about this, except let more immigrants enter France. As I have previously commented, Mr. Macron is nothing more than Hillary Klinton in trousers. He is a pretty boy appealing to the status quo, which includes more money for the bankers. What positive values does he bring to French society? I am not French, but following the election from this side of the Atlantic, I am hard pressed to see what they might be other than preserving the Eurozone. Ah, the Eurozone, Europe's version of NAFTA, but 16 times worse.

Mr. Macron is all in for maintaining sanctions against the Bear, even though the French would certainly benefit from importation of Russian gas and oil. Mr. Macron is also pro-NATO with its in-your-face Putin bashing. About the only other "good" thing he favors is smaller government. Translation: less governmental regulation and restriction of predatory business practices.

In short, Mr. Macron would feel quite at home here in the DemonRATic party with its neoliberalism, anti-Russian, anti-progressive stance.

Hamon, the Socialist, got whomped with less than 10% of total vote in Round 1 of the presidential vote. So, he, like any good socialist, threw his support to hard-core free marketeer Macron. How strange for a supposed socialist to support an unrepentant capitalist. Please don't remind me of Bernie's misguided support for Killary, because Bernie after all is a Democratic-Socialist which is a watered down version of real socialism.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the most Bernie-like French candidate, but outspoken than Bernie, fought hard but only came in fourth in Round 1. However the spread between the top 4 (Hamon being number 5) was only about 5%. No one got a mandate. Certainly not Macron.

Fillon has dropped out because of the damage done by Suit-gate (two $13,000 suits charged to politics which in turn is paid for by the French citizenry plus his wife working a fake government job for 2 years). Fillon also threw his waning support to Macron. Maybe he will get a job in Macron's government.

But what about LePen? She cannot win. She is a woman! She is an extremist! She is xenophobic! She wants to leave the EU and resuscitate the franc. What a globalist disaster! Worse yet, she is not happy with either US interventions in Syria et. al. or with Putin-bashing. She hints at a NATO withdrawal. But...but...but what would that do to the MIC? Not a lot really because the French percent of GDP devoted to Military spending is a small fraction of ours. Thus their economy is nowhere near as dependent on military spending as is our bloated "defense" budget.

LePen, you say, incredulously? Is she not riddled with corruption charges? Yes, she is. Cynically however almost all politicians are corrupt, it's just a matter of degree. I am not apologizing for her actions. And didn't she get a loan from a Russian bank? A RUSSIAN bank. Yes. She explains this by saying that no French bank would loan her any money. Could Macron have had a hand in this? Who knows? And what about her father? In an interview with Nigel Farage recently, LePen stated she had her father removed from the National Front because of his racist views. True? I don't know.

You can't tell the players without a score card. Here is the presidential scorecard before round 1:

Notice how closely the views of Mélenchon and LePen are on euroskepticism, protectionism and budget. So if Mélenchon is Left and LePen is Right, what are we to make of this? Simple. The old labels, which coincidentally originated during the French Revolution, simply make no sense any more. The term "liberal" has been so mis-used as to denote NOTHING (perhaps because the so-called liberal Dems stand for nothing).

Indeed, Mélenchon did not throw his support to Macron. He has taken the Bernie-like attitude of let my supporters vote for whomever they want. Many will choose LePen.

But the polls? What about the polls? Yes, what about them? They are as believable as CNN. Nate Silver, so-called king of pollsters has revealed himself to be a Hillary shill. I am sure the same situation with polling holds in France. The recent murders on the Champs-Elysées will only help LePen, especially when contrasted to Macron's "this is something we'll have to get used to" non-empathic stance.

Prediction polls after round 1: Overall Macron 62%, LePen 37%

But can the polls be trusted in France? The press overwhelmingly supports Macron, this includes print and television. He is the Establishment's boy. He is a shoo-in, is he not?

Let us look at two French cities:

Calais: home to the largest refugee colony in the EU, affectionately named "the jungle". The people of that port city can thank us Amerikkkans for the influx of migrants due to our bombing-for-peace program. (0:50)

Here is an EU representative doing his best imitation of Hillary Klinton, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. (7:11)

For those of you who watched Macron's 2014 video in the essay above, here is my favorite snapshot:

An intelligent version of Trump that knows how the government actually works I would rather Trump.

You need to listen to her [and her party] more.
