Russiagate = Gulf of Tonkin = Iraq WMD, Bill Binney on JDS

[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sv0-Lnv0d0k]
This is a great interview with Bill Binney, ex NSA, member of VIPS (Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity). This community knows most of these facts, but this interview is a very good summary for all of us and we should pass around the URL to folks who need a good lesson in sanity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sv0-Lnv0d0k

The US clearly wants to use the military as the ultimate level of foreign policy. Various administrations then use falsified facts/news to promote war. The situation has become critical now that the MSM has dropped all pretense of objective investigative journalism. Unless there is some way to fix this, it would seem that we are in for many more wars and will need that extra $60B war appropriation that sailed through Congress. As the US becomes more stressed internally and challenged in the world expect war, war and more war. I think that even Bernie is on the bandwagon.

I had planned to write an essay on this interview, but worried about doing it justice. Your essay does that very well.

Do I hear the sound of guillotines being constructed?

In fact, it’s already almost irretrievably bad, in spades.

Heh. Thanks for the essay.

RE: “ I think that even Bernie is on the bandwagon.” I wonder.....

Surprisingly, Sanders voted against military spending earlier this year when most did not.

He also gave a foreign policy speech in the fall that was surprisingly left leaning , given that he was not dealing with FP much in the primary.

Of course it was not left enough for most of us here....

More recently Sanders released this statement on his Senate Website:

FWIW I voted for Jill Stein the last two Presidential elections because she was the only candidate speaking with any degree of sanity about the use of our military, healthcare, and climate change.

Sanders was the only one running Dem emphasizing climate change until Her began parroting his issues.

Would I vote for Stein again if she was running and Sanders had the nomination???? Not sure.

A truth of the nuclear age/climate change: we can no longer have endless war and survive on this planet. Oh sh*t.

@divineorder
He has somewhat straddled the line and I voted for Jill primarily because she was clear on the issue of war. He also has supported the MIC in Burlington to bring jobs to Vermont.

If he runs for the presidency can he take a pro-peace stand? Will his Democrat rivals grind him to pieces over "soft on defense?"

Capitalism has always been the rule of the people by the oligarchs. You only have two choices, eliminate them or restrict their power.

Bernie wins Dem Primary. If he truly wants to win, rather than d!ck around advancing his socialist message, then he needs to run as an Indie. Simple as that. If he runs as a Dem he simply isn't running to win.

There’s a good reason why rising stars of the progressive left – Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Tulsi Gabbard, and now Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17) – are stumping for a new direction in U.S. foreign policy.

Americans across the political spectrum are fed up with the status quo offered by the U.S. foreign policy establishment, what Ben Rhodes once referred to disparagingly as “The Blob.” But they remain just as skeptical of Donald Trump’s “America first” rhetoric, especially as time reveals the conventional interventionist agenda behind it, stripped this time of its noble pretensions.

to do without will eventually rouse the rabble out of their lethargy. Especially if we have to do start giving up our technology. Maybe then people will look UP for a change.
