A question. Does "Corn Pop" know "T-Bone"?

I've got a new conspiracy theory.

Joe Biden is actually Joe Bauers, the most average man in the American military, lost in a black budget military cryogenic experiment. He woke up 500 years in the future and became the smartest man in the world.

President Bauers must have succeeded in discovering time travel and has carefully created the Biden character to change the future and save Rita and Frito.

@k9disc it makes a lot of sense out of this mess. I'll only add that he seems to be still defrosting.

Everyone knows that kitschy conspiracy theories are a leading edge indicator of political success, so Biden's a shoe in, rite?

He comes across to me like he doesn't know where he is or why he is there. And that story hahahahah mmhmm, yeah, That Really Happened.

I feel sorry for those kids surrounding him. They all look like they are thinking some variety of "I was not paid enough to listen to this shit. How much longer?" Nice going, Joe and Campaign! Surrounding him with black children like props who look bored as hell while he rambles about something - excellent optics. Joe is a Star!

@Le Frog I was wondering about the kids, too. They seemed nonplussed, probably hear older kids talking that way all the time. Hope they didn't know this guy was Obama's VP.

according to Symone and a diary I read on ToP that had a photo of his obituary with Corn Pop in his name. And ByeDone has talked about him and his lifeguard gig previously. Joe apparently wanted to educate himself on how black lives were different than his. But still it's a strange story to bring up with lots of blacks at the event. I posted a tweet in the other essay on this where an ex NAACP person remembers the story.

@snoopydawg and while maybe the spine of the story is factual, the presentation was a fucking disaster. I didn't think it would be possible for Joe Biden to come across as more racist - and less coherent - but he did. I initially had no fucking idea what he was talking about. His new campaign slogan should be "Joe Biden: Grasping at Straws."

@snoopydawg which I do check daily usually for propaganda purposes. But as you've stated, what could be the purpose of this story other than trying to "prove" he's tougher than Trump? The Guardian article included some old quote from Unca Joe saying he'd take Trump out behind the woodshed, so to speak. Good God. Can you imagine the comedy gold if those two blowhards actually debate? While Joe is already facing serious questions about his own racist past, why in hell bring up a story about a black "gang member" and how he punked that gang member into standing down with a chain? I confess I do not get it but then again, I don't think we're meant to get anything, we're meant to just nod along and say oh yeah, this guy's going to beat up Trump, Yay! The stupid, damn it burns.

@lizzyh7 that he thinks this ridiculous story of Joe Biden crossing racial lines to foster racial understanding is a clincher for how Not Racist he is. Why else would he be using black children as decorative visual aids? He could have been talking about how wonderful it is that an important community resource is still there or how special having the pool named after him was; there are so many other ways to promote himself as Not Racist than to tell a probably fabricated story with the most racist features possible.

But if you listen to him speak he go into detail about why he went to work there in the first place.

"Gonna git me down to where da black guys hang out to see how they jive."

Having the black girls behind him in the scene makes the optics even worse. And they were bored out of their minds and were talking to each other instead of listening to him...lol

But yeah it'd be quite a treat to see ByeDone and Dumb f'ck Trump to debate each other. I might even watch this.

@snoopydawg watch the video. I can hardly bear to hear any of them speak anymore. Maybe after some wine and weed I can attempt it.

@snoopydawg Yup, now I belive...

Good ole Corn Pop used to rust his straight razor in a rain barrel and was more offended by being called Esther Williams than being kicked out of the pool by a skinny white kid.

Yup, believe every word...

and just couldn't watch anymore. To me he seems to be pandering to the older moderate Republican in many ways. Saying things that back in the day were seen as fine by many, subtle racism and certainly not the overt less "acceptable" kind of Trump. He's obviously ignoring the young in my opinion. Spouting old bromides about his toughness in reaching across the racial divide reminds me of my dad's demographic and my dad's been dead for 12 years...

@lizzyh7

Why did he ignore the kids in the background and who was he talking to? I get it that it's part of his childhood, but to focus the story on the black guy who didn't wear a bathing cap? And that he got called to go "out back" to settle things? But he was told to call the police because of Corn Pop's history? This is all he remembers about his time there? Were there any white kids at the pool or was it for blacks only? Just weird.

Reminds me of the time I was sitting in a school auditorium full of parents and children, when one of the school officials decided to tell us a story. He went on to say that a little black boy ran up to him and gave him a big hug. When he went to return the hug, he touched the kid's hair and "it was all greasy with pomade". The point of the story? Who the ef knows? The audience gave a nervous twittering sound and the next school official rose to speak. Needless to say, ByeDone and this guy are from the same generation.

A dude with pomade in his hair with a bad-sounding name like Corn Pop (!) hanging out at the community pool...how times have changed...now there are no community pools in black neighborhoods. Maybe that is why ByeDone was so instrumental in turning the clock back on Civil Rights...that'll teach ol' Corn Pop for pulling out a switchblade (and maybe NOT listening to records) and having the nerve to have pomade in his hair.

BTW, ByeDone could not look more uncomfortable around these youngsters. He looks like someone that was doused in honey and left on an ant hill.
