Sit-a-while
on swinging porch
where tin-dippers and
sweet water
in cool touches
meet lips
from hand dug wells.

Good morning good people!
Hoping these holidays fed everyone in love and conversations.

Not sure i'll be around, but must say it was good to escape the blackness of Friday.

Enjoy family and friends and it all, today!

Morning poem:
Loving cornbread,

baked every other day

so simple, so good
Loving sun

every day

baked in womb of mystery
Loving earth

giving rise

corn stalks, levain and DNA

Intertwined, mixing wine

waiting to, driven to

ecstasy, flowing

in water never reaching end

pouring over mossy stones

splashing, scattering seeds

until nectar comes

begins again...

unless cornbread's forgotten

and rivers moan, singing

songs of manatee

until man consumes

or finds the recipe.

Guess it's time for another 'Peruvian Beach Shack Report'(tm...ymmv)(no rights reserved)
one of the dogs here had puppies. Like Peru needs more dogs. They are everywhere. The good news is she only had two and they and mother are fine.
On the 'This Old Beach shack' front...management started a second floor bedroom addition so he could be onside more. The drill is people arrive on night buses from the north or south. They are always dropped off at 4 or 5 AM and come hang out in hammocks till management arrives. So now someone will be here then.(Note: This is Peru. There are no permits to pull or building codes to follow. Just hire some guys and throw up a shack.)
Peruvians seem to not be into 'overregulation'.

PS.Thanksgiving potluck was postponed as a certain Lola dog decided it was a nice time to have puppies 20 feet away.

Hartman Deetz of the Wampanoag tribe told Newsweek he doesn’t eat on Thanksgiving, calling it the “Day of Mourning.” He said Thanksgiving is just like any other day in which American Indians’ existence is denied, with the addition of more gluttony.

Kaepernick said in a Twitter post with a video that he joined the ceremony Thursday “in solidarity with those celebrating their culture and paying respects to those that participated in the 19-month occupation of Alcatraz.”

“I realize that our fight is the same fight,” Kaepernick said to cheers. “We’re all fighting for our justice, for our freedom and realizing that we are in this fight together makes us all the more powerful.”

that far south. That story about the puppies being born holding up the feasting made me chuckle. Rec'd for the thread and great tunes. George Winston graduated from the Stetson University Dept. Of Music. Fabulous musician. I, too, am a Stetson graduate but my forte(?) was literary and grammar analysis. Smile @eyo

@orlbucfan about 2 hrs south of the border with Ecuador. Peru is so big. The bus to Lima takes 20 hours. Chile is 35 hours away. Most folks don't do more than10 hour chunks.

Saturday = day 2 of post Thanksgiving catch up, clean up, re-rearrange and normalizatin. Where do the consumptionistas find time to binge shop Friday?

this here blog; fun to be had in turkey talk. Still jawing with my son, a solid week of sleeping side-by-side, catching up and enjoying two kinds of dressing which i made in abundance. Cleaning up left to do.

As to shopping, these days, i race from crowds instead of into.

I bought a weight-loss diet, but it came as a meal of crumbs with a few pieces of kibble. I have a tankless HW heater, so it takes some water run to make warm water. But she likes it enough to lap it up. Still 1 cup day/solids and 1 cup liquid. Per day, half and half.

Nearing 50F again, my house is coasting on residual heat and radiant floor. Rain later today.

i've a diddly i wrote for a musical in London, "High Rise," circa 75, i'll share one Saturday; maybe i've put it up before in years past on the blues, can't recall, but you may enjoy.

Warn day for winter here in the mtns. as well; does have a nippy breeze. Sending online strokes to the critter, stay warm.
