OT ~ Welcome to Saturday!
Sit-a-while
on swinging porch
where tin-dippers and
sweet water
in cool touches
meet lips
from hand dug wells.
Good morning good people,
Nobody shall sleep!...
Nobody shall sleep!
Even you, oh Princess,
in your cold room,
watch the stars,
that tremble with love and with hope.
But my secret is hidden within me,
my name no one shall know...
No!...No!...
On your mouth, I will tell it when the light shines.
And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!...
(No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.)
Vanish, o night!
Set, stars! Set, stars!
At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!
Nessum Dorma ~ Giacomo Puccini
Have Mercy
Have mercy, have mercy,
Have mercy, poor me.
But I drink to life!
What a mystery is my life
What a mystery!
I'm a sinner of the year eighty thousand
A liar!
But, where am I? And what do I do?
How I live?
I live in the soul of the world
Lost in the depths of life!
Have mercy, poor me.
But I drink to life!
I'm the saint who betrayed you
When you were alone
And I live elsewhere and I look the world
from the sky
And I look the sea and the woods
I see me...
living in the soul of the world
Lost in the depths of life!
Have mercy, poor me.
But I drink to life!
If there was a night dark enough
to hide myself, hide myself
If there is a light, a hope
Gorgeous sun shining
inside me
Give me the joy of living
that isn't still here
Have mercy, have mercy,
That joy of living
that may be is not still here
Miserere ~ Andrea Bocelli
With thanks to magi for bringing this last Saturday.

Hurricane even did a number on down home, NC, trees toppled all over. Drove out of wilderness to nearest wifi to post today's OT. Hope all c99er's are safe from the storm.
Off grid this past week and today, so, hope you enjoy music/lyrics; have a great day and conversation.
The porch is yours ...

Life is Short - Opera is Long
was the graphic printed on t-shirts worn and sold by the crew of LA opera in the 1980's and 90's. Damned right Skippy!
Hi jbob,
thanks for reading and glad you enjoy the music, sorry for this belated reply. Have a good one.

Modern education is little more than toeing the line for the capitalist pigs.
Guerrilla Liberalism won't liberate the US or the world from the iron fist of capital.
Thanks for the vid, Aspie, and for being here.
Thanks for traveling out of the wilderness
To just keep us entertained ;-). Good thoughts.
My pleasure, sorry for these belated replies.
Strange weather pattern here; Fall colors very late and hurricane winds have stripped many trees of leaves as well.
Have a good one.
good morning all
The Great High Wind passed south of us, but my friends near Quincy FL are still without power.

Those of you with trees down be careful with those chain saws!
“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
No power in center of NC, friends tell me, not much damage
in the mountains, road and driveway washouts; glad you dodged this bullet train.
Thanks for reading and have a good one.
Good morning Smiley7. Thanks for the OT, the art and the music.
I keep forgetting about that music site, and some days, like today, I really need it.
That Botticelli comes attached to a bizarre worldview full of privilege, which I discovered by reading the related wiki page. Reminds me of today's "incel" clowns.
That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt --
Hi el; yes, i like the art, not the
privilege, but haven't seen that much change in any western civ; artists needing, having or using 'sugar-daddies' prevails. Hell, even i raised money from the wealthy for theatre and dance growing very tired, in fact, disgusted with that enterprise when i finally said "enough."
In recall, i believe the piece is one of four; have to look that up when i've time.
Cheers for reading and being here. Have a good one.

Well, i qualify, lotlizard; but, i've enough drugs to keep up
with, so think i'll pass.
Hope you are well and Fall shows magnificent colors in your beautiful country.
I like the opera is long t-shirt.
I'm glad opera is long though because I like to sink into them. Here's Monserrat Caballe, she passed away October 6th:
Thanks so much for the Caballe and tribute, peace.
Another one
in honor of Caballe, she was fabulous.
Thanks for the ot
smiley, wishing you well.
Back at you, randtntx, wishing you well, too.
Good to be back in my little room, home. Been away about six weeks now mostly with different dog sits. Lots to do here, organize for winter; get out the clothes, switch over, paperwork galore and hang on until next tests in Chapel Hill in two weeks.
Cooking now, a creative version of what i have on hand with beef, a stew, eventually. Cooking warms my soul.
Thanks for reading and have a good one.
i just wanted to share this somewhere ,,,

I'm thinking ballet
I always did appreciate cartoons set to classical music
Cool GreyWolf, love this; agree with randtntx, takes me back to
cartoons, especially the two blackbird ones with them hopping around to classical music in the background on black and white.
Kinda like skiers negotiating their way down a mountain, as well.
Thanks for reading and have a good one.
I think I realized why I like lesser evilism
Because its real. We all have a lesser evil inside us. A few, more toxic people have a greater evil, most of us have a greater good and a lesser evil. Yet so many people are demanding there be no lesser evil to the point where they'll pretend the greater evil is actually the greater good without any evil.
Beware the bullshit factories.
The problem is when being the lesser evil is the primary
virture and either the sole virtue or nearly so. There is, for example a political party that stands for, essentially, "more of the same but with 35% less evil", which is simply so unacceptable that they need to be called out on it.
That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt --
Been so angry for Xtians forcing original sin upon
everyone and thing that i don't stop to figure any of 'that' anymore; evil is evil, isn't it? Or is it that evil begets evil?
Beyond my paygrade.
Thanks for joining in, good to see you, please stop in more often and have a good one.
Just spent an hour in the storm cellar

Marilyn, i recall the instructions when living near you
"if it sounds like a freight train coming, take cover." Happy you are safe and sound. Sorry i've been away much lately, will have to catch up with your latest enterprises.
Thanks for reading and have a good one.
Thanks for the OT smiley,
Enjoy the quiet sweet beauty of the wild. Seems like the owl is still around here. Otherwise, all quiet on the western front. Looking forward to more news of the deluge in your neck of the woods.
have a good one...
