Hundreds Participate in #OccupyCNN to Protest the Media’s #BernieBlackout

Bernie Sanders supporters gathered in the hundreds at the CNN building in Hollywood, California Sunday to protest the network’s coverage of the Vermont Senator.

According to Twitter users, the network, along with other mainstream media groups, failed to cover the sit-in.

Protestors are voicing concerns over the growing trend on inequality regarding mainstream news’ coverage of presidential candidates. Donald Trump seems to garner the most coverage, with Sanders trailing far behind.

Of course, many pointed out the fact that CNN’s parent company, Time Warner, is one of Hillary Clinton’s biggest donors

you sound just like Shah my husband who often spouts random numbers but is really handy as a human calculator. He offsets and offers shortcuts to my 4th grade level long hand math. Gimmie any 3 digit numbers to multiply or divide he's say's in the car as we kill time. Fractions slow him down a bit but then again they are a well known drag. Especially when they cross all lines of measurement from the ruler to whatever measurement your using. If I can't see it spatially I can't wrap my mind around it and could care less. Flunked algebra 2 times until the teacher finally said take remedial math and quit saying who cares what x is. He could of said apples.

Seems Al Giordano ( who was supporting Obama in 2008, on The Field) is now supporting Clinton? Is this possible? A joke? Just can't believe he is really in favor of Clinton. Maybe I read too many posts from The Field 8 years ago, but this seems very curious.
Anyone know? According to his twitter, Al is in WI, reporting. Nothing about it on NarcoNews, but his Twitter account seems to really favor Clinton. Of course, this may all be an attempt at "anarchy" from some place in "Amerika" - find it very surprising.

I had never really thought about four being the only even squared prime. The proof goes something like, all the prime numbers, except 2, are odd. The sum of an odd number of odd numbers is odd.

My six sigma digital library sort is based on powers of 2. I rotate recently played stuff out of the library and stuff that has completed its time out back in. The power of two numbers of days depends on the may star rating for the track and the number of times it has been played. Time outs are anywhere from 32 to 512 days. I end up with a skewed bell curve slightly weighted to the 4 and 5 star tracks.

I have seen Hugh Masekela a couple times, what a great human. I was doing a project, in Germany, just after Gary Moore's Still Got The Blues came out. The US vinyl did not have Otis Rush's All Your Love, compelling me to buy a Euro copy. The CD included All You Love, but that was during the analog days.

Two Sevens Clash is the debut album by roots reggae band Culture, recorded with producer Joe Gibbs at his own Joe Gibbs Recording Studio in Kingston in 1976, and released on Gibbs' eponymous label in 1977 (see 1977 in music). The album's title is a reference to the date of July 7, 1977.

Singer Joseph Hill said "Two Sevens Clash," Culture's most influential record, was based on a prediction by Marcus Garvey, who said there would be chaos on July 7, 1977, when the "sevens" met.

Press Release
Sanders Statement on New York and California Minimum Wage Increase
April 4, 2016

Bernie Sanders
JANESVILLE, Wis. – U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders on Monday issued the following statement as Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Gov. Jerry Brown signed legislation to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour in New York and California:

“I’m proud that today two of our largest states will be increasing the minimum wage to a living wage of $15 an hour – raising the wages of some 9 million workers in this country. Not too long ago, the establishment told us that a $15 minimum wage was unrealistic. Some thought it was ‘pie-in-the-sky.’ But a grassroots movement led by millions of working people refused to take ‘no’ for an answer. Loudly and clearly workers said, ‘yes we can increase the minimum wage, not just to $10.10 an hour, not just to $12 an hour, but to a living wage of $15 an hour.’

“This campaign is about building on these successes so that everyone in this country can enjoy the dignity and basic economic security that comes from a living wage, no matter what state they live in. That includes ending the subminimum wage for tipped workers and persons with disabilities.

“New York is also joining California, New Jersey and Rhode Island in guaranteeing paid family leave. In my view, we must go further by passing the Gillibrand-DeLauro FAMILY Act to guarantee 12 weeks of paid family leave to every worker in America. Secretary Clinton opposes this bill. She believes that a $1.61 a week payroll tax on the average worker is too high a price to pay for this legislation. I disagree.

“As president, I will proudly stand with working families all across our country and fight for Congress to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour and provide paid family leave to every worker in America. Together, we can rebuild the middle class in this country, reduce poverty, raise wages, combat soaring income and wealth inequality and create millions of jobs.”

Meteor Blades has an excellent run down on one of the biggest leaks to date. It includes world-wide top-siders using a Panama-based firm to set up tax dodge accounts, including at least four US states.

More to come in the next couple of weeks, which will swing to US personalities as well. Panama Papers

If anyone knows about this fairly big item today, I would really like to hear reactions to this leak, and possible US implications.

I've been surprised that there doesn't seem to be any US connections. Maybe our side is close enough with the Swiss to stay Old School?

Why Iceland and Russia were targeted first is a real interesting question.

I just saw Gatsalie's excellent essay and thread on this from earlier.

Well, now, I know it's actually afternoon, but still feels like morning to me. I write Hellraisers in my pjs and feels like morning until I get dressed for the day which the boys are making clear that I need to do immediately so as to take them out for their afternoon walk.

So this diary, 375 recs, 2,300 shares, sourced through Real Clear Politics, 100% factual push back against blatant smearing, earned Toby Ziegler a week long TO.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/04/03/1509877/-Hillary-Clinton-I-feel...

When he protested at the Help Desk, this was their reply:

"Toby Ziegler:
Your original headline was unduly provocative, and though you moderated it later the tone of your post as a whole is still over the line in terms of malicious criticism. The one-week time out will stand."

After seeing the Bernie-Smears on Parade that makes up the wreck list the last few days, don't anyone ever suggest the ban hammer swings both ways. This is SUCH BULLSHIT that pushing back against easily dis-proven bullshit is now a censorship event. They must really be worried about the numbers.

It will be interesting to see what he has planned for tomorrow, if anything.

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.

It had disappeared from the rec list (and every list on the FP) by the time I had finished reading the diary.
The Daily Klinton of suck is just too far gone for me.

They’re totally going with that “suddenly you’re an unperson” thing. How Erdoganesque.
