How are we divided? Let me count the ways.
Race, gender, economic class, religion, ethnicity, age, education, language, profession, geographic location, medical status, on and on and on. We have become so pigeon-holed and compartmentalized that a certain group wants to divide us further into human and trans-human entities. One is no longer able to just be "me", you must be labeled and categorized, many times over. Have we ever been so divided as we are now?
I purposely left out a big one on my list, politics, that which I think of as building "interpersonal walls", divisions which to me are a mental construct designed as a control mechanism. It has served psychopaths and sociopaths for millennia.
Here in the US politics boils down to a republican/democrat, red/blue dichotomy. Oh. sure, there are other subsets, but for intents and purposes, it is boiled down to the two party system. The system is rigged as such.
We here at c99 are at least trying to open discourse between the two factions with our nonpartisan discussion policy. In my humble opinion, we don't stand a chance unless we stand together and find common ground. I'll iterate again, the struggle is not horizontal, it is vertical. It's a class struggle.
The current political zeitgeist could make a person feel a bit schizo, no?

West can end fighting in Ukraine tomorrow
Ukrainians can stop dying tomorrow if the US sat down with Russia and made peace, Pink Floyd co-founder and British rock legend Roger Waters told RT in an interview on Friday. Who or what is the mysterious shadow figure in the background of this old west photo? Those who only glance at this 1886 image will likely miss the strange form behind the Apaches. Look closer, however, and you’ll spot it: a dark, mysterious figure rising over the fourth Apache from the right, behind the frame of the wickiup. Can you solve this historical mystery?

Here is what I do.
After attempting to make a twitter comment I check the preview function. If I get the error message I go back and try to see what went wrong The emojis are easy to delete but there are also short forms for countries that have to be removed (ie us or ru for example) then I check preview again to see if I have missed anything.
It is a bit of a bother but it works.

I wonder how it came to be that the part of the image in question is a figure? Sounds like it came from the intertubes? I do not agree with that assessment whatsoever. It is a rock. It is merely a projection of the outcropping. It is inanimate. I have spent my life analyzing natural history photos. The only 'figure' this could possibly be is Bigfoot.

Go to your bank. Tell them to give you a form to fill out to distribute your account funds to your chosen beneficiary upon your death. It presents a crisis when, for example, your spouse cannot get to the funds to provide for herself and child, or cannot pay to have a funeral. Probate can be a lengthy process! I am working with a family and bank to avoid probate, get those funds to a precious little 2 yr old child and his mom. The bank was, thankfully, very cooperative.

The March/April issue of Current Affairs (my favorite magazine) has quite a thorough exposure of Harari. It's titled The Prophet-The Dangerous Populist Science of Yuval Noah Harari. The author is an evolutionary biologist named Darshana Narayanan. This man is real good at making statements about a lot of topics related to science which scientist find totally un-factual. Very similar to Deepak Chopra.

It’s baffling…
Lots of people are reporting that their work mates are constantly out sick with one thing after another and there are lots of other interesting things happening that have health authorities baffled. Like the insurance companies seeing how more people than ever are dying. 20-40z more than usual. Baffling indeed. Some newspapers are saying that climate change is causing unusual problems in people globally.

Last summer was The Summer of the Flies. No locals had ever experienced them in such quantity. They swarmed!
In preparation for another swarmy summer, I got new fly swatters. Well, seems the holes, what you might call the spaces in the swatter between the weave of plastic, are so large, smacking the fly is not enough. It is common to swat the fly, and the fly be unscathed by the plastic.

The Auckland area, where I live
was spared the worst of the rain.
Just 1 month ago my best friend of 25 years and her husband moved far away, to one of the areas that was worst affected by flooding. Luckily they weathered the flooding well. I think it must be a baptism of some sort ; ).
