Nate Silver now going after Bernie supporters
Submitted by gjohnsit on Sun, 09/22/2019 - 6:51pm
Nate Silver has been hating on Bernie since 2015, but he's generally held off insulting millions of his supporters until now.
What a nice, unbiased "numbers guy".
Nate wrote in 2015: Bernie Sanders Could Win Iowa And New Hampshire. Then Lose Everywhere Else.
Last month he wrote this.
Nate Silver, the editor of FiveThirtyEight, descended to psychological babble, assailing Sanders for having a “sense of entitlement,” feeling that “he’s entitled to the nomination this time, and if he doesn’t win, it’s only because ‘the media’/’the establishment’ took it away from him.”
Silver was always biased, but now he's done a Markos. Any credibility he may have once had is gone.

I've seen lots of changes. What doesn't change is people. Same old hairless apes.

Translation
of that quote by Nate Silver:
"Damn it, we had it made. We had things all lined up. Cushy jobs, excellent income and investment portfolio, great benefits, fancy house, the status and power that comes from hobnobbing with the elites, and the adulation of an adoring but gullible public who believe everything we say.
"We could have had it all! We should have had it all! But that stupid Bernie Sanders and his annoying residue want to take it away from us! It's not fair! NOT FAIR! It belongs to us! We are entitled to it! How dare anyone try to take it away from us!!! Everything in the world is always and only about us and what we want! Anyone who says different is just a piece of entitled residue, and they should just shut up and go away!"
Sorry for the punctuation overload, but that's kind of what his statement felt like to me. A 2-year-old having a temper tantrum because his mommy told him to share his toys and wouldn't let him OD on cookies before bedtime.

Actually, it sounds like that 2-year-old's mommy did let him OD on cookies before bedtime!!

The worst part is the "entitlement" line
NOBODY in politics is this less true of than Bernie Sanders. NOBODY, not even the few people I like better.
His whole problem is that he's the only one NOT "feeling the Bern" - so sticking him with this (the way John Kerry got pegged with "flip-flopper") is not only mendacious Bizarro-speak, it's authentically cruel.
I'm tempted to say they're saying it BECAUSE it's Bizarro-speak; they're deliberately abusing a gentle old man.

Yes Virginia, there is a Global Banking Conspiracy!
Think about that "residue" comment.
Where's the outrage? First BernieBros, now residue? The insults to Bernie supporters is outrageous. Pushing back is essential. Bernie and Tulsi must be supported in light if these continued insults.

It's late, but I have a theory
Silver had a simple, easy to understand and effective idea - polls sometimes go nuts, but mostly they have a consistent, reliable bias. So, if you throw out the outliers and weigh in the routine biases the average that you come up with is very likely to be more accurate than any given poll or even a number of unweighted polls. Duh.
Then came 2016. The Democrats were falsifying the primaries. That meant that they also had to falsify the polls or the discrepancies would expose them. That meant they had to only use polls that would lie for them. But that would show; there would be more unusual outliers and polls that did not show their usual bias. It could be obscured, especially if the media was in on the plot, but someone like Silver would still be able to see it. He had to be let in on the plot He would have to make a career change, from boy genius to corruptocrat flunkie.

Tim Black's right on it. Gotta watch.
Read this long, intelligent thread last night, too tired to comment (still too tired) but just caught the most wonderful Tim Black video giving Nate exactly what he deserves -- with typical Tim Black flair. Enjoy, fellow residue of all that is good and decent in this country (ever panned for gold?)
